I don't understand why people are getting mad at Haley! She isn't against Peyton and Lucas and she never was. She just wants her best friend to be an honorable guy. In 5x18 she told Lucas to be with who ever makes him happy. She caught them in High School doing the same thing to Brooke and it caused so much drama and she din't want that to happen to her friends not just Lindsay but it would have hurt everyone.
prettymonsterofevil I love P. Sawyer. I love Leyton, but season five was basically season one amplified. Lucas gets his feelings hurt and throws himself into the next opportunity that presents itself. Only this time it’s not Peyton’s best friend (someone she loves and feels guilty for hurting) it’s a stranger who is a good person and very likable but someone who came *after* her. Someone who she deeply envies for having what Peyton has wanted since high school- a life with Lucas. It took Lucas, Peyton and Brooke making mistakes to create the situation in season one and it took Lucas, Peyton, and Lindsey making mistakes to create the situation in season five. No one (Lindsey and Brooke included) was innocent in those triangles.
But shes being overly rude to Peyton without trying to understand where she is coming from. Haley is smart, she should know neither L or P are over each other rand how that relationship ended. If her and Nathan broke up and then Haley regretted it, wouldnt she want Peyton to understand how much they had been through?
i understand where she was coming from, but i think its just cos it felt as though haley took lindsey's side over peyton's and peyton/haley weren't that good friends in s5 (she spent more time with brooke and mia during some periods). even though peyton had been away, she'd known her longer...and it just felt like she was colder with peyton than lucas at times, despite them both being at fault.
People are getting mad at Haley because she was not a supportive friend to Peyton. She should have helped Lucas to admit he was still in love with Peyton and at least encouraged him to wait and sort his feelings out first. She was a rubbish friend, pretending to be honorable and unbiased.
To me she was saying “you’re my friend, but I stand with Lindsey”....she was trying to be a fair person to her friends, Lucas,Peyton and Lindsey who she liked and knew would be hurt to learn what Lucas and Peyton are doing behind her back
It actually pisses me off that he wanted to marry Lindsey. I mean, he knew it in his heart that he still loved Peyton. Eurgh, they wasted like a year when they could've spent that being together.😭 this show has really gotten to me❤️
I think they did story the way it should be. It would have just gotten stale with two married couples and just dealing with married life (of course other story lines like Nathan's basketball career, Hailey's music, ect). I liked that their road to marriage was much harder than Nathans and Hailey's. I know everyone wished they would have gotten more screen time with Lucus and Peyton's marriage but it ended like it really should have. At least in my eyes. The whole point was everything always got in their way. Even the birth of their child was a story that could break them apart. In the end, even though they drifted they always found each other.
wouldn't have been much a show if you skip to the happy ending without giving all the reasons why they were meant for each other. Haley and Nathan were already filling that dynamic.
"SPOILER" Everyone in season 5 was a bitch to Peyton except for Brooke and Antwon. They knew Lucas and Peyton were meant to be and they both encourage Peyton to go after her lover. Was really pissed about Lucas saying he loves lindsay but writes a book about how he fell for Peyton and not wanting to believe his true love. Like that guy said, "You cant find love or choose who you love. Love finds you." That pissed me off in that season. But glad season 6 they got married and had a daughter 😊👫👰🏻👨👩👧
Lucas was hurt that Peyton said "no" to his proposal and is hiding behind Lindsay so he wouldn't get hurt again. So yes he said that he "loves" Lindsay so he would get hurt by his true love again, but he was still in love with Peyton why he wrote a whole book about his love for her
Absolutely the break up between Chad & Sophia quickened the process. IMO Brucas would have never been endgame but their break up did happen kinda sudden and Mark cut the story short after their divorce. I agree. But Mark also said that the "LP seeds were planted from the very beginning." and "From the pilot we design a world where Lucas and Peyton were meant to be together" Even Chad said it was Peyton - "They are star crossed lovers, and they are the same person but male and female."
Mish McDasi Wait did I miss something? After everything that happened in season 2 Peyton wasn't being nice to Haley at all. In this situation Haley is right, she learned from her mistakes in season 2 and grew up, unlike Peyton and Lucas who have made this mistake so many times and still haven't learned how to be faithful and honourable to their significant other.

I get that people love Leyton and we’re rooting for a reunion. I was too, and I’m still happy we got it, but that doesn’t mean I agree with Peyton’s decision to kiss a man in a committed relationship, or the way she took her pain out on Lindsey. To her credit, she let go. She stepped back and allowed the wedding and that relationship to fall apart on its own and when it did she tried to fix it for them for the sake of Luke’s happiness. Lucas kissed Peyton back. He proposed to Lindsey knowing he still loved Peyton and Lindsey accepted that proposal with the same knowledge. Haley was friends with all three people, and she called both Lucas and Peyton out for their poor judgement. That doesn’t make her a bad friend. A good friend does not enable bad behavior.
No good friends don't, but given her past (kissing Chris Keller even though she was married), I would think she wouldn't be as judgmental and at least talk to Lucas about it.
Robert Watkins Personally, what I’ve never understood is why Haley didn’t talk with Lindsey about the situation. Lucas made his choice the second he proposed. It was the wrong one, but he was committed to making it and nothing she said could have changed that. We saw what happened when she tried. She never told Peyton she had no right to feel hurt or to want Lucas but that she needed to respect that he was planning a life with someone else, and she wasn’t wrong for saying so. *But* Lindsey was already jealous and insecure and suspicious *before* the proposal. If Haley cared as much about her as she claimed, why didn’t she sit her down and talk this out?
But when Haley was tryna win Nathan back in s3 .. she never gave Nathan his space and neither did Lucas . That’s why so many people are upset with Haley

Haley was always judgemental . What happens between Lucas and Peyton is their own matter. She has no right to butt in . Did anyone questioned her and her love for Nathan when she said she couldn't be his wife and that they married too fast ? Did anyone questioned it when she came back and refused to sign annulment papers ? People could have said to Nathan that he should divorce her , Lucas could have said that but he didn't .

Nah, that's actually her problem. Lucas was her friend first. But she's so busy being Lucas' #1 cheerleader, that she doesn't realize how conflicted his heart really is. It was her siding with Brooke because Brooke was there for her during her pregnancy. Peyton had her own drama and, if you think about it, Luke did too. Her siding with Lindsey just shows how it's a sort of 'Friend of the Week' they write for Haley. Honestly, they flip flop through her character during the show.

I really hated Haley here to be honest, though she was never on my list of favourite characters. Peyton did some shitty things, and even though Haley is Lucas' best friend, there was no reason why she couldn't have been nicer to Peyton.
Peyton did the EXACT same thing to Haley when she came back from the tour and she didn't even have the excuse of being Nate's best friend. She took out her drama with her mom on Haley.

She just packed her bags and walked out without so much as a goodbye and Peyton was one of the people left behind to clean up her mess. She had every right to be angry with her. And even though I love Leyton, Haley had a point. Lucas was engaged and it would have been wrong for her to keep pursuing him knowing that.

Exactly. And she never wants to be with him when he’s single. He tried to express his feelings in high school and she wasn’t hearing it so he dated Brooke and she made it seem like she wanted to be with jake. Then she kissed Lucas and hurt Brooke then didn’t date him or think about him romantically until he got back together with Brooke. Then did it again. I believe Chad and Brooke would've ended up together. Peyton with Jake. At first Lucas and Peyton where going to be endgame, but it turned out Lucas and Brooke had a lot of chemistry... and for a while, Brooke and Lucas were going to be endgame. But then Chad-Sphia got divorced and it was back to the original plan.
Seriously, Haley has the right to be frustrated that her friends are once again "cheating" on an innocent girl. Peyton can declare her love for whatever but you don't kiss an engaged man. i dont think haley was mad that lucas cheated on lindsay. i think she was mad that he 1. didnt tell haley, 2. didnt tell lindsay and 3. proposed like an hour after having cheated on her. and she was just mad at peyton because it is literally how every one of peyton/lucas relationships have started: by cheating. and she was mad at peyton because peyton was the one that broke lucas' heart and then rightfully but selfishly came back 3 years later.

I think everyone hating on Haley forgets that this season takes place FOUR YEARS after HS, THREE YEARS after LP broke up, and TWO YEARS after Lucas and Lindsey have been together. Like, to Haley, it seems like Peyton just shows up out of nowhere and is trying to screw with Lucas's relationship with a girl he loves and to whom Haley has become very close. How does that deserve ANY hate whatsoever?

It takes two to tango, Lucas was just as much to blame if not more than Peyton, he didn't have to talk to her when Brooke asked him not to, and he didn't tell Brooke about the kiss until he thought that Peyton had told her, and the only reason why Peyton kissed Lucas in season 3 was because she thought that she was gonna die, she wouldn't have kissed him otherwise, i mean until the shooting then Peyton kept her feelings to herself and she told Brooke the truth cause she didn't want to repeat what happen'd in season 1, Lucas isn't some innocent person, and Peyton didn't ruin Brucas, it's not all black and white, i mean Lucas didn't have to let Peyton kiss him but he did, he decided to keep the kiss to himself, and it's not like Peyton told Lucas how she felt until she knew it was really over between them plus he cheated on Brooke in season 1.

Back in seasons 1-4 I always thought Brooke and Lucus were meant to be only because of how cute & cheesy they were together. She caught them in High School doing the same thing to Brooke and it caused so much drama and she din't want that to happen to her friends not just Lindsay but it would have hurt everyone.

Lucas gets his feelings hurt and throws himself into the next opportunity that presents itself. Only this time it’s not Peyton’s best friend (someone she loves and feels guilty for hurting) it’s a stranger who is a good person and very likable but someone who came *after* her. Someone who she deeply envies for having what Peyton has wanted since high school- a life with Lucas. It took Lucas, Peyton and Brooke making mistakes to create the situation in season one and it took Lucas, Peyton, and Lindsey making mistakes to create the situation in season five. No one (Lindsey and Brooke included) was innocent in those triangles.
But shes being overly rude to Peyton without trying to understand where she is coming from. Haley is smart, she should know neither L or P are over each other rand how that relationship ended. If her and Nathan broke up and then Haley regretted it, wouldnt she want Peyton to understand how much they had been through?
i understand where she was coming from, but i think its just cos it felt as though haley took lindsey's side over peyton's and peyton/haley weren't that good friends in s5 (she spent more time with brooke and mia during some periods). even though peyton had been away, she'd known her longer...and it just felt like she was colder with peyton than lucas at times, despite them both being at fault.
People are getting mad at Haley because she was not a supportive friend to Peyton. She should have helped Lucas to admit he was still in love with Peyton and at least encouraged him to wait and sort his feelings out first. She was a rubbish friend, pretending to be honorable and unbiased.

I think they did story the way it should be. It would have just gotten stale with two married couples and just dealing with married life (of course other story lines like Nathan's basketball career, Hailey's music, ect). I liked that their road to marriage was much harder than Nathans and Hailey's. I know everyone wished they would have gotten more screen time with Lucus and Peyton's marriage but it ended like it really should have. At least in my eyes. The whole point was everything always got in their way. Even the birth of their child was a story that could break them apart. In the end, even though they drifted they always found each other.
wouldn't have been much a show if you skip to the happy ending without giving all the reasons why they were meant for each other. Haley and Nathan were already filling that dynamic.
"SPOILER" Everyone in season 5 was a bitch to Peyton except for Brooke and Antwon. They knew Lucas and Peyton were meant to be and they both encourage Peyton to go after her lover. Was really pissed about Lucas saying he loves lindsay but writes a book about how he fell for Peyton and not wanting to believe his true love. Like that guy said, "You cant find love or choose who you love. Love finds you." That pissed me off in that season. But glad season 6 they got married and had a daughter 😊👫👰🏻👨👩👧

Absolutely the break up between Chad & Sophia quickened the process. IMO Brucas would have never been endgame but their break up did happen kinda sudden and Mark cut the story short after their divorce. I agree. But Mark also said that the "LP seeds were planted from the very beginning." and "From the pilot we design a world where Lucas and Peyton were meant to be together"

I get that people love Leyton and we’re rooting for a reunion. I was too, and I’m still happy we got it, but that doesn’t mean I agree with Peyton’s decision to kiss a man in a committed relationship, or the way she took her pain out on Lindsey. To her credit, she let go. She stepped back and allowed the wedding and that relationship to fall apart on its own and when it did she tried to fix it for them for the sake of Luke’s happiness.
Lucas kissed Peyton back. He proposed to Lindsey knowing he still loved Peyton and Lindsey accepted that proposal with the same knowledge.
Haley was friends with all three people, and she called both Lucas and Peyton out for their poor judgement. That doesn’t make her a bad friend. A good friend does not enable bad behavior.
No good friends don't, but given her past (kissing Chris Keller even though she was married), I would think she wouldn't be as judgmental and at least talk to Lucas about it.
Robert Watkins Personally, what I’ve never understood is why Haley didn’t talk with Lindsey about the situation. Lucas made his choice the second he proposed. It was the wrong one, but he was committed to making it and nothing she said could have changed that. We saw what happened when she tried. She never told Peyton she had no right to feel hurt or to want Lucas but that she needed to respect that he was planning a life with someone else, and she wasn’t wrong for saying so. *But* Lindsey was already jealous and insecure and suspicious *before* the proposal. If Haley cared as much about her as she claimed, why didn’t she sit her down and talk this out?

He tried to express his feelings in high school and she wasn’t hearing it so he dated Brooke and she made it seem like she wanted to be with jake. Then she kissed Lucas and hurt Brooke then didn’t date him or think about him romantically until he got back together with Brooke. Then did it again. She sabotages her relationship with him and with other people because she doesn’t want anyone else to have him. Which is weird because he usually supports her when she dates other people. i love haley...she was a bit harsh to peyton but that's because i don't think she understands what exactly happened the night lucas proposed to peyton...she only heard lucas's side of the story...she also tells lucas that if he is going to marry lindsay he'll have to commit...he can't cheat on her with peyton...because she made that mistake and learned from it
Well i think that Lucas is very happy with Peyton in the end ! And I am glad that Brooke didn't stay with him, ohterwise she would'nt have met Julian and he is sooo good to her !

@StashaSLW she had just explained in the episode before this why she didn't say yes (though fyi, she never said NO(*handflailing*!)). she tried to move on with julian because she (which she also mentioned in the episode before this one) was trying to fill the hole that lucas left. apropos haley, she was an ahole for accepting to be the matron of honour for lindsey, when she had known peyton for so long. i myself would find it awful if one of my friends became one for my ex's wife-to-be :s

We all know that the Chad-Sophia marriage drama played a role in that as well, come on. If he hadn't had such a scandalous affair and a messy divorce, who knew where the Brucas storyline could have gone.
I believe Chad and Brooke would've ended up together. Peyton with Jake. At first Lucas and Peyton where going to be endgame, but it turned out Lucas and Brooke had a lot of chemistry... and for a while, Brooke and Lucas were going to be endgame. But then Chad-Sphia got divorced and it was back to the original plan.

Seriously, Haley has the right to be frustrated that her friends are once again "cheating" on an innocent girl. Peyton can declare her love for whatever but you don't kiss an engaged man. Even worse if the engaged man kisses back. And Peyton was generally downright rude to Lindsey who tried to be civil. Everyone was rooting for Peyton, there was nobody else on her side.

i dont think haley was mad that lucas cheated on lindsay. i think she was mad that he 1. didnt tell haley, 2. didnt tell lindsay and 3. proposed like an hour after having cheated on her. and she was just mad at peyton because it is literally how every one of peyton/lucas relationships have started: by cheating. and she was mad at peyton because peyton was the one that broke lucas' heart and then rightfully but selfishly came back 3 years later.

I think everyone hating on Haley forgets that this season takes place FOUR YEARS after HS, THREE YEARS after LP broke up, and TWO YEARS after Lucas and Lindsey have been together. Like, to Haley, it seems like Peyton just shows up out of nowhere and is trying to screw with Lucas's relationship with a girl he loves and to whom Haley has become very close. How does that deserve ANY hate whatsoever?

I love Haley TO DEATHH, but this season, I hate her. She's ALWAYS on Lindsay's side, always. And she sticks her head in places they don't belong. Sure Lucas is her best friend, and she's always looking out for him, but their are certain things, Lucas just needs to learn on his own. It takes two to tango, Lucas was just as much to blame if not more than Peyton, he didn't have to talk to her when Brooke asked him not to, and he didn't tell Brooke about the kiss until he thought that Peyton had told her, and the only reason why Peyton kissed Lucas in season 3 was because she thought that she was gonna die, she wouldn't have kissed him otherwise, i mean until the shooting then Peyton kept her feelings to herself and she told Brooke the truth cause she didn't want to repeat what happen'd in season 1, Lucas isn't some innocent person, and Peyton didn't ruin Brucas, it's not all black and white, i mean Lucas didn't have to let Peyton kiss him but he did, he decided to keep the kiss to himself, and it's not like Peyton told Lucas how she felt until she knew it was really over between them plus he cheated on Brooke in season 1.

Back in seasons 1-4 I always thought Brooke and Lucus were meant to be only because of how cute & cheesy they were together. But I think Luke & Peyton were the couple who fit perfectly together, like soul ages. And I'm glad because Brooke & Julian were peeeerfect for each other I loved how much Julian loved Brooke
