David Guzik teaches on this well known passage from Luke 10, where we see Mary and Martha interacting with Jesus. Here is a link to David Guzik's commentary on Luke 10: enduringword.c...
Wonderful message Pastor Guzik. I'm retired and have the time to sit at Jesus feet. I begin my day with Jesus and it's most satisfying. I wish I had done this during my work career. Many thanks.
This is the best detailed teaching of the story of Mary & Martha I’ve ever heard! I loved the 5 Things We Receive When We Sit at Jesus Feet! Loved all of this, thank you 😊
John 11.5...Now Jesus loved Martha.. IF you have a faved son or daughter and declared/wrote in black n white, almost singled out by proper name that love as in as John 11.5.... how would you be rankled to hear that the person u loved was disparaged at pulpits and set up as a neg example??? Remember it was mary sitting in the house weeping for her bro...BUT it was Martha as soon as she heard Jesus was on the road got up quickly and went to meet Him AND in verse 11.24 she declared and responded to the Lord her belief that He was the Christ etc. How many positive sermons have been preached about "that" disciples who also declared who the Lord was and nary a disparagement about him and the relationship with the Lord?? The anointing was a one-time event in Bethany, at the house of some one called Simon the Leper, who was a Pharisee and simon's son was Judas Iscariot ....Martha had her own house also in Behtany and she was at the Pharisee's house with her sister mary, because Jesus and Lazarus were being honored because of the rising of Lazarus. Then when Jesus addresses his host Simon and says simon, I have somewhat to... and later asks him about the two debtors ....and simon's response and afterwards Jesus telling him how he had rightly judged (himself before the Lord). So, when Judas Is. is mention in Acts 1:16-20, the reference leads to Psalm 109 and the lineage of Judas, his children and his parents, etc, Have you ever asked why or how did Judas gain entrance into the "offices" of the Pharisees and chief priests to plot against the Lord...could it be because of his relationship with Simon the host for the anointing??
Oh! What a precious word ! God be praised!
