Fantastic to hear this wonderful exposition from 2 centuries past brought to life for today. How timeless is the Bible.
I see a reflection of the principle Christ taught with Mary and Martha in a child and their parents. A child doesnt want an expensive toy as much as they want you to spend time with them.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful sermon. May the grace of the LORD bless you all 🙏💜

So thankful for the new sermon.
Excellent sermon. Is there a written version? Please
Hi yes, each sermon can be found in written form online. This one is at: www.spurgeon.org/resource-library/sermons/martha-and-mary/#flipbook/ ... God bless
What was the one good thing martha lacked that will not be taken away from Mary. Was it saving faith or just not striving to enter into rest as a saved Christian should do always.
Thank you for the question. I am not 100% sure, but believe it to be that Mary understood just how precious time with Jesus is; and how brief His ministry on earth would be. Gavin
It was how mary had prioritised the need for jesus, the service is important but devotional time with the lord is more important, if one doesn't take time to listen the words of jesus, but is to busy in the service they may lose there joy in doing it as martha did, as our joy comes from the lord

!!!?? Much More about the anointing!!!? The four gospels record anointing BUT Luke adds anointing at Simon the Pharisee's house (Lk.7:36-50) by an anonymous woman who like Mary (Lk 10:38-42)at the home of Lazarus anointed our Lords feet and also by John at (12:1-8). !!!Then see Mt. 26:6-13 and Mk. 14:3-9 for the record of an anonymous woman anointing our Lords head (possibly she was inspired to recognize The King of Kings) and she is to be made note of as recorded wherever The Gospel is taught!!!!??
Lukes record (Lk. 7)of the anointing includes a parable of forgiveness!!
