- During the 2019 testdays at Spa Francorchamps this legendary Bentley LMP1 car was in action.
The Speed 8 debuted in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2001 and won the race in 2003. It has a strong resemblance to and shares some technology with the Audi R8C, which had raced only once before Audi dropped the project to focus on the later dominant Audi R8. The EXP Speed 8 marked Bentley's return to racing after a 73-year absence.
Driven by Rinaldo Capello, Tom Kristensen and Guy Smith
Only 5 cars made (2 never raced)
Engine: Audi/Bentley 4.0 litre 90-degree V8 twin-turbo, mid-engine, produces 615 bhp and a topspeed of 350 kmph (217 mph)
Nowadays you can see this car back in action in the Endurance legends class. - Авто та транспорт
One of the prettiest LMP cars with a roof. Love that backfire too. :)
That car is gorgeous
audio recording don't do this thing any justice, sounds fucking beast in real life.
prettiest racecar of the 2000s. no question.
That's a proper gearshift noise
its the best ive ever heard
This 2003 Bentley Speed 8 is absolute *"LEGENDARY"* for its time and it is still to this day after just about 20 years,😔 (16 months coming) even though I was almost 2 years old in june 2003.
Thanks for this State of Art video, man.
Interesting to see that it's in the configuration that they ran at Sebring in 2003 instead of Le Mans.
I know it's been 4 years but it's in this configuration because this isn't the Le Mans winning car this is the car that ran at 12 hours of Sebring and got fourth overall. This is chassis 004/1 the Le mans winning car is chassis 004/5.
What a monster
i have a photo of the whole team, the cars and all the drivers signatures 😝
Sounds like the Toyota TSO50
This have to be a loudest Bentley they have ever made. Bentley is a luxury car brand not sport car brand like Lamborghini
Bentley knows how to do speed too….Continental GT Supersports for one. Not to mention the W16 of the Veyron was derived from the Bentley Hunaudières concept car’s engine, at the time was naturally aspirated.
