A necklace
Stringing Material - I used 0.38mm Silver Grey Tiger Tail x70cm

Bead Design Board - www.affordablejewellerysuppli..., or a flat surface
Note: If you’re not using a bead design board then I suggest laying a piece of fabric on your surface, so the beads don’t roll away.

I absolutely love your tutorials and have watched them several times. Thank you. One additional technique I have used for restringing vintage necklaces is to take a photograph before 'unstringing' ; just as an extra level of insurance if for some reason I bump the table.
Oh yes, I do that too. Thanks for sharing that MaryJane. I often take photos of things as I make them and then take them apart to change them, just in case I want to go back to a previous version.

I'm looking forward to doing this. I have a lot of beautiful glass beads and pearls that were my mom's and grandmother's. My daughters and granddaughter have some I gave to them at my granddaughter's wedding and I need to inspect them and see if they need restringing. It would be a shame if those 100 year old pearls that belonged to my grandmother broke.
Yes, I agree, Cindy. While you can still use silk thread for restringing, I prefer the Tiger Tail I used here as it's so much stronger and so there's no chance of it breaking. Have fun with those vintage beads! Thank you.

Another great idea to remember pattern is taking a photo up very close on your phone. That's a beautiful piece. Am I the only one that despise crimp beads? Lol. I have such a hard time using them.their so tiny. Everyone makes them look so easy to use. Maybe it's just my big man hands. Lol.
Yes, I take photos of my pieces all the time so that I can remember how they were put together. No, I am right there with you in regards to crimp beads. A necessary evil. Don't even get me started on crimp covers. I do find that the Magical Crimping tool makes it much easier though.
@@The_Stylish_Maker lol. Yeah. I think I struggle most out of the crimp covers. So, they stay in the box. 🤣🤣 I have a crimping tool, I need to give it shot. I've never used it.

Do you have any good tips or tricks for making a necklace a little longer? I have two old necklaces from my grandmother and they are in need of restringing, but they are also a bit too small for me. My guess is that you simply purchase some additional beads that look similar or are a pleasing compliment to what is already there and add them in equal measure to the top of both sides leading to the clasp.
I just wondered if you had any particular advice.
Hi Joy, thank you for your question - it's a really good one and is very common. I think that you have it right. Either add some more beads that look good with the existing, or you could add a small amount of chain. If it's not too much that is required, you could just add an extender chain. what size tiger tails did you use?
I used a 0.38mm tiger tail. With all my videos I leave a link in the description box to a blog post that lists all the items I used and links to where you can purchase them.
The music is So Loud
Thank you for your feedback Annmarie. It's quite hard to get the balance right. In future videos, I've reduced the music a bit so hopefully have resolved that.
the music is way too loud, it's suppose to be background & barely noticable.
