Excellent interview. You did a terrific job and asked great questions that DBH seldom addresses.

I agree and DBH's ability to discuss so many subjects with this much insight is incredibly impressive. I leant a lot in the two hours. Well done Randos too.

DBH seems to focus his critique of capitalism on land rent-seeking and natural resource speculation, consumerist culture, corporatism, and the usurious financial system. I'd be interested to hear his opinion on free-market left-libertarian philosophies such as mutualism and Georgism, which are more in line with the communitarian values of radical (Lockean proviso) liberalism and Christian socialism.

    Two random questions:
    1. The about page for the channel identifies its location is the United States. But, when I hear you talk, I hear echoes of Ireland. Are you a transplant? Or am I misconstruing your voice?
    2. I often get the impression that David has an introverted side that makes him hesitant about public engagement. Maybe I'm wrong. But I'm curious to know how you made the contact that made this conversation possible.

Randos United is a channel run by an individual who is not the person speaking to DBH. This is Julian who is a Hutterite from Canada. This channel is a group channel of sorts with many people who contribute to the content.
I encourage you to check out the other conversations and engage if you feel so inclined. We all coalesced around a man named Paul Vanderklay who also has a UA-cam channel a few years back.

Not Ireland, but I've heard that before actually, I have something like a german accent. If you look around youtube, you'll see DBH talks with all kinds of randos and small channels, so I just tried my luck by sending him an email.

I appreciate DBH, his thought and your questions to him as well as most of his responses. It's true that agape is the central message of Christ and his Gospel. It's also true that concern for the poor was a central theme of Scripture, JC and the Church Fathers and should remain so for the Church always (in theory and practice), though not in the Marxist or current illiberal quasi-Calvanistic coercive "Woke Social Justice" mode (which certainly condones coercion and even violence even beyond property damage) and, to be truly Christian, must remain situated within the full orthodox theology of the undivided (pre-Schism) Church. DBH may be too blinded by his animus toward the USA to understand why so many (poor and working class, and not just White or Christian) voted for Trump. He may be too much of an elite person to understand their actual experience. Yes, Trump's life, character and behavior have been antithetical to Christian values in many respects and yes he behaved as a lying, manipulative, divisive demagogue and it's awful that he was elected (something that even he didn't really expect to happen), but he was running against someone who had exhibited decades of similarly unChristian-like behavior and against a corrupt Democratic Party elite that itself behaved unjustly (ask Bernie's disciples) and the voters in 2016 chose the devil they didn't know. His actual performance and policies were arguably mixed, no less so than Biden's are now. I think the reason so many voted for Trump the second time (and will in the next election) is not because they are "racist" (most had voted twice for Obama, for whatever that indicates) but because of the EXTREMISM OF THE LEFT which the Dems and corporate Media and liberal-minded academics like DBH can't seem to ever bring themselves to criticize despite all the evidence of Left Wing wrongdoing. DBH and those like him seem to be blinded by their hatred of Trump and their obsession with Far Right Extremism that they can't see the data. Or, prove me wrong, DBH, and condemn the insanity of Left Wing Extremism, be it of the Communists of the past (that should be easy enough) or present or the racist CRT, BLM, tyrannical Woke ideologues taking over not only academia but media and so much institutional and corporate culture today (having made a deal with the devil of Big Capitalism). Condemn that, DBH, as eloquently as you condemn Right Wing Extremism. I maintain that the extremists on both wings feed and maintain each other and that (no longer) "liberal" media and academia enable them both. Christ certainly would rebuke them all and so should the Church and people like DBH who identify as followers of Christ and lovers of the Good, True, and Beautiful. For an example of someone, a jewish woman, who but also a self-described Socialist like DBH, who has the courage to do so, listen to Batya Ungar-Sargon: ua-cam.com/video/YTf4JYfMuoI/v-deo.html. In closing, if agape is the ideal for Christians (and all shall be saved, halleluia) we who are attempting to follow Jesus should be extending agape to everyone, including the ideologues and demogogues on all sides...including Trump...even while rebuking them and condemning their bad actions . We ought also to have a bit more empathy for those who voted (and may vote again) for flawed (but also evolving) humanoid like Trump in the hope (rightly or wrongly) that he might prove to be the lesser evil.

DBH sees himself as the cutting edge of his field so much so that he can barely keep up with himself. But a few silly academics might disagree.
If this is Hartian modesty, is it true or false?

It seems that DBH has totally given up teaching, to focus exclusively on writing, because the hours required in academic teaching accomplishes ""very little"".
    It accomplishes very little .....

It's fascinating to me through how many lies of modernity David can see, yet in how many of them he whole-heartedly buys into.
He seems like the kind of guy who sees how sick and diseased the modern world is for having abandoned Tradition, yet would condemn all of Julius Evola's ideas based on some false modern ideals of secular politics and democracy, not understanding that these are just another avenue for oligarchs.

Hart is SO arrogant! Yes, he has much learning, but it has gone only to his head. He condemns “integralists,” Americans, Evangelicals and current conservative Republicans as “Raca”! Clearly he has missed some very important parts of the sermon on the mount he claims to hold high.
