@@MerricksGarage thank you for the videos learn alot man keep it up just got my 5.3 in my 79 k5 today and got my terminator x max today in the mail doing the an6 fuel line with corvette c6 filter regulator 87 tank 87 fuel sending unit and ep381 fuel pump sniper fuel rail
When I installed my power seat, console, amp and other items I added a marine grade heavy duty relay and a blue sea fuse panel. Now I have 8 dedicated ignition power sources that are independently fused. The same can be done for constant hot without the relay.
I have several videos on LS Swaps. They really aren't that challenging. Just pay attention to the details. The Holley harness makes it really really easy.
@@MerricksGarage hey man maybe you can help me out. So I got this guy with Holley terminator x max comes with gen 4 intake and pedal and wants $1400 and new Holley kit.could I use all this on my gen 3? I’m seeing online if I do I’d have re pin a censor because my gen 3 is a 24x and a gen 4 has a 58x. What are your thoughts?
Ignition switches have not power to them in almost 40 years now. It all comes off the collume switch or the fuse panel. I was wondering about emissions also for the LS? That and the Sub might be an issue as your burb is not a diesel and if you swap you have to start with a 2500 to match the 6BT. Love the vids, more!!
Today stuff is a lot different than the k30 was, but there are still power sources you can find, I use them to signal a relay for the power I want and then control it with a ground switch, simple and works well, relays are everywhere you look.
Just snagged holley for my s10 drag truck but highly thinking of doing It on the big block for some content on my crew cab. I'll be watching this build for sure as it's one of the better squares out there
I enjoy your you tube channel, I have done electrical , drivablity, on car/trucks most my life. Would enjoy doing some tech tips myself, keep up the great work!

I’m doing this right now on a 71 c10. Can you run the red/white from transmission harness to the same switch power as the red/white from the main harness? I think the alternator has to be run to a switch 12 v also. I’m having a hard time finding three separate sources. Thank you.
I'm sure you have a video that tells what unit your using for your gauges but I haven't seen it, so would you please let me and others know what it is and from where you found it,PLEASE!
I have a very early on from when I did the dash install. I think it is like number 4 or 5? I will shoot a quick video on the Autometers for you though!
@@MerricksGarage oh, I guess I'll have to go back and re-watch some of the older videos. I thought I remembered you running into some issues with the referee when you first did the swap
Any Pre '97 Diesel VIN truck is smog exempt in CA. Square 6.2 and GMT400 6.5 turbos are all legal for this setup in CA 🤟🏻🤟🏻 does not need to be pre-75 just a mechanical diesel Vin.
I agree with good grounds. I run redundant grounds from batt. To chassis, chassis to engine , engine to cab etc ... good video sir
Thanks 👍
Great job doing this same swap now looking forward to the terminator x max in my 79 k5
its great. I am gonna be doing another one here shortly. So clean

Yes its a great unit bought two thank you for a great video as you do !
All those wires are scaring me 😂 I just want to ls swap my 95 Chevy. Anybody got any video recommendations

Yea I hesitated about the ignition part but then again many of these trucks are 40 years and older ....?😜.

Thinking about scraping the 91 k5 and putting it all in a 75 pre smog then can run whatever I want
pre smog makes things a lot simpler
I wanted to see what side of engine would be best but I can't make out anything on that rats nest
that's just mean and spiteful.
I expected more of you George Spangler

@@MerricksGarage did watch a 5 minute vedio after yours that got to the point and explained the harness well,, so maybe utube just mislabeled your's,
What small magnetic led work light are you using behind the dash in the video looks super convenient!
The Milwaukee or the smaller black one? The small black one is from a company called Litra. They are great!

i have a question, what kind of terminator x do i have to buy for my ls swap
terminator x or terminator x max. what is the difference?
Max is trans control too

@@MerricksGarage yah I seen the one with the diy dash but was curious about the digital setup in this video
I assume this system is not smog legal. With that in mind, does this mean that the street legal days of the K30 are numbered?
The K30 is pre smog

Been thinking about a Sniper for a AMC 360 in my Jeep.
When are you gonna start working on the suburban?
The suburban had to be out on hold when the blazer transfer case went out.
Can you run the terminator x max with a manual transfer case or do they have one that works with 4x4?
There isn’t any wiring off the transfer case for them to control.
Is the CA smog check going to be ok with an aftermarket computer? I thought it had to be stock from the donor vehicle.
No, this is not for Cali swaps as far as I know.
@@MerricksGarage ha ha yeah that’s what I figured. Darn CA won’t care if engine runs cleaner if it doesn’t have a CARB number!
So the Holley is not comparable with. Emission systems?
What years is is your K5?
