Not going to lie, I do appreciate your endorsement of Raf Manji. I'm two months too young to vote in this election so I've actually been going to Ilam and helping this guy out as much as I can through volunteer work because he's a really smart guy with an amazing team and a lot of TOP's policies like UBI and the Teal Card would really help young people like me down the track.
I think they have a lot of great ideas, I voted for them in 2020 (mostly because I knew the left were safe so I could throw my vote away) I hope they can win Ilm, I'm not holding my breathe though
The moment Hipkins said no capital gains tax I knew Labour was done. Though even then I expected some serious reform to come out by now. But no. TOP though? They got ideas. They got a new way of thinking. Party vote TOP all the way.
If top wins Illm we can talk about their party vote in 2026, as of now the most likely outcome for a top vote would the same as 2017 and 2020, the votes not counted at all
But if you look at the 2020 election, anyone who vote nz first, Top, vision, new conservative, ect might as well have not voted for all the good their vote counted. I think people need to be realistic with their votes and vote for the government they want, not some ideological stance for a party who has no chance
Wasn’t neck and neck in 2017. National bet Labour by far in terms of votes but they didn’t have enough to form government. In 2020 what you got to remember is people didn’t elect Labour due to any outstanding manifesto or progress between ‘17-‘20, It was purely Covid which coincided with an election year and this is proven in their poor polling in the lead up to the pandemic and return to those figures around the time international travel was becoming normalised again. Ardern’s policies were never popular and Hipkins had to do what he did.
@@TuiPolitics I was referring to the main parties. There was a margin of ten seats. This was part of the controversy of NZ First going with Labour when National overwhelmingly had the popular vote.

I was with you up till the end, the wasted vote saying is so anoying, the way I see it the only wasted vote is someone who doesn't vote.

If you add the left and right wing blocks, nat + act and lab + greens, there was only like 2% in it, thats neck and neck to me
