The controller configurations main concept is the R trigger "Jump" . It gives Otari a Jump button that is not sharing the same finger as the attack and special buttons.
His brother didn't even really start coming into his own until quite recently. He saw some success when he solely played Ice Climbers but hasn't seen that success until fairly recently despite mostly attending tournaments in West Japan, which has much less top level threats than East Japan.
I know its been my dream ever since 2008 to go to a tournament but sady i live in the caribbean not America, and there are hardly any tourneys for me to complete in. Not to mention not that much people in my country actually play SSBB, and of all the ones i've played i'm much better than, with the exception of prolly around 4 ppl i think have tounament potential.
agreed. i need to buy the damn wii version already so i can really giv a try.. i hope that nintedo can make a smash thats more similar to smash 64 in the future.. kinda like how mario gets allot of different games like paper mario vs mario 64, and then they make new super mario bros for wii, it was like exactly like old school mario, just polished up a bit..
I actually just bought Smash 64, the game is great, although in my opinion, it is not better or worse then any of the other games. Each one of the games shine in their own way. Smash 64 is simple, melee (gamecube one) is very competitive, and the wii one is really fun when you play it. All in all, all three games are great.
@erickgm15 true, but i think if he reacted fast enough he could have gotten it. holdin dat shield too long can cost you to miss those kinda opportunities. plus, pika was already in shield. worst case scenario i can see is Esam PS the shuttle loop and grabbing OoS giving otori enough time to recover from lag. but...idk, you're right though hella close
@VongolaUltimo I suppose he may have always been this good, but he has never looked more impressive than in the APEX videos, especially when he took down Nietono.
@VergilSFD ANTi owned him on livestream? Was it at APEX? I hope you are not referring to the Wifi friendlies between them. They were both messing around. -_-
saying that you have to have won tournaments in order to be considered 'underrated' is ridiculous lol. lolwat. in fact, the lack of tournament wins, can be what CAUSES one to become underrated.
@MLGizz I've watched every video of him I could find, and I never realized how good he was. It might be because 9B, SLS, and Nietono have always overshadowed him in my mind.
yes , easily. do u know much weed i used to smoke in 8th grade and play this game with about every G in the hood. the best smash 64 players were the ones that had tattoos and fucking getting into fights and ditching school and selling drugs , and we wud all get high and play smash drunk as fuck..and still to today every now and then we smash..im now 26, an i woop some serious ass in smash , my link will destroy anybody.. maybe i cant beat Isai, but i could talk some damn good shit in battle :)
not exactly shure what u mean by that, but everyone i have ever met that woops ass on the n64 version does not like the gamecube version either, the timing is off or something, the features like tiny mode and all that other stuff are cool, but overall the game is no where near the 64 version in terms of fun and replay value. ive played smash 64 for like 10 years and still new things happen, its amazing , and no ther game offers that..i have heard the wii better than gamecube smash but idk
it just doesnt look so promising. tekken is cool, marvel vs capcom is cool, there all good games but IMO smash 64 advanced upon those type of games and fighting games in general, or atleast created something that i like better ! i dont know why they would make such a wonderful game that is unique and try to "improve" it by downgrading it to be like every other tekken ETC.. fighting games get boring real fast ,tekken, smash gamecube , mortal kombat, marver vs capcom, smash 64 is by far the best !
smash 64 looks 1000 times better than this... i had smash for gamecube and it was decent, but not 10% of what the n64 version was.. smash 64=best game ever created. this new shit reminds me of some tekken bullshit. smash 64 was simple and thats what made it so complex..please for the next smash game, stick to its roots! and i will beat the crap out of anyone in the n64 version!

I'm a melee player and I don't normally say this but otori's metaknight was super duper fun to watch.
@teluoborg I think he auto-canceled the glide which left no lag for the shield to come out and block thunder's final hitbox
Did you see how Otori finished his controller settings and almost immediatly moved to the character selection screen?
That completly blew my mind.
His brother didn't even really start coming into his own until quite recently. He saw some success when he solely played Ice Climbers but hasn't seen that success until fairly recently despite mostly attending tournaments in West Japan, which has much less top level threats than East Japan.
I dont know? there are a lot of tourneys that use Brawl+
I've NEVER seen that controller set up for any player lol. I wonder what benefits or uses it gives Otori..
best brawl matches at apex
@Grcho420 in japan mk isnt banned...
Anther?

Dang, Otori was swagged out, mad technical and he played so well. His control over MK was excellent, and everything he did was really fluid.
I still don't know what the heck the Japanese were thinking when they made Metaknight's moveset...
agreed. i need to buy the damn wii version already so i can really giv a try.. i hope that nintedo can make a smash thats more similar to smash 64 in the future.. kinda like how mario gets allot of different games like paper mario vs mario 64, and then they make new super mario bros for wii, it was like exactly like old school mario, just polished up a bit..

Infinite in 8:38 ?
Game 1 1:57
Game 2 8:13
It's a shame this wasn't a Bo5, I feel like ESAM was really beginning to adapt well
this was the last tournament that he was legal
@erickgm15 true, but i think if he reacted fast enough he could have gotten it. holdin dat shield too long can cost you to miss those kinda opportunities. plus, pika was already in shield. worst case scenario i can see is Esam PS the shuttle loop and grabbing OoS giving otori enough time to recover from lag. but...idk, you're right though hella close
I thought Meta Knight was banned...
"it was simple which made it complex"
you're smart
@VongolaUltimo I suppose he may have always been this good, but he has never looked more impressive than in the APEX videos, especially when he took down Nietono.
When did Otori get this good?
Wtf kind of controller configuration was that?!
This is Brawl+ right guys?
How'd he do it that fast
2:38 Are you fucking kidding me...
It doesn't matter if you like Melee and/or Brawl....
This is regular Brawl
way too beast
This is Mario Tennis
Actually ther're are a lot of Brawl+ tourneys but all the main ones like Apex and MLG are normal....
@VergilSFD ANTi owned him on livestream? Was it at APEX? I hope you are not referring to the Wifi friendlies between them. They were both messing around. -_-
There's a guy called Isai, you should meet him sometime.
well that is what i meant. banned by the unity ruleset. didn't they disband or something?
Really, with all the jumping and what not, it looked lik a Brawl+. anyways thanks for answering.
I honestly like ESAM better. So many MK lovers..
@BaldyMcNosehair where did you see otori being worse? i'd like to see the improvement he did to improve myself as well
ESAM should of took it to smashville
Practicing with his brother, I'd assume,
Well sir, hope you do good at your tournament, i've never been to one sadly :P
saying that you have to have won tournaments in order to be considered 'underrated' is ridiculous lol. lolwat. in fact, the lack of tournament wins, can be what CAUSES one to become underrated.
Otori controls the bess!!
Even Isai? (lol)
-_-
a simple yes, would have sufficed.....no need for sarcasm....
I salute you sir/mam, you have won the argument, congratz, XD.... btw i was just talkin nonsense and what i "thought" was right...
Pikachu won anyway on accounts of not being Meta Knight
tl;dr version: "No one in 2nd grade could take a stock off me."
FUCK! Esam should have grabbed OoS at 13:08 and backthrew
@MLGizz I've watched every video of him I could find, and I never realized how good he was. It might be because 9B, SLS, and Nietono have always overshadowed him in my mind.
LOOK HOW SLOW THIS SHIT IS
needs more pika down smash and bair
MK fights are the worst, its like a character for players with no skills
Screw Meta Knight
metaknight is too good right? so are the japanese players.. so the Japanese Metaknight is in a league of its own..
To all of you that brag about MK, this set is actually pretty interesting.
yes , easily. do u know much weed i used to smoke in 8th grade and play this game with about every G in the hood. the best smash 64 players were the ones that had tattoos and fucking getting into fights and ditching school and selling drugs , and we wud all get high and play smash drunk as fuck..and still to today every now and then we smash..im now 26, an i woop some serious ass in smash , my link will destroy anybody.. maybe i cant beat Isai, but i could talk some damn good shit in battle :)

otori is the shit
goddamit!! Otori Ur MAKING UA-cam LAGG!!
So boring to watch Metaknight playeres.
it just doesnt look so promising. tekken is cool, marvel vs capcom is cool, there all good games but IMO smash 64 advanced upon those type of games and fighting games in general, or atleast created something that i like better ! i dont know why they would make such a wonderful game that is unique and try to "improve" it by downgrading it to be like every other tekken ETC.. fighting games get boring real fast ,tekken, smash gamecube , mortal kombat, marver vs capcom, smash 64 is by far the best !
