    Hey Larry,
    I just tasted my first batch and it came out phenomenal. Everyone loved it. Your American IPA is a fantastic recipe. I was skeptical about the orange peel because the Samual Adams summer brew doesn't go well with the citrus since its an amber beer, but it works great in yours. Thanks a trillion Larry! I couldn't have done it without your great videos. I suffered a brain injury in the military and your visual aids were spot on even with my memory disability. BTW, thanks for the precision advice. My second batch was an efficiency of 81%. It's not hard, just takes time to do all grain brewing. I'm going to do two more batches using your recipe. Over the summer, I hope to create something of my own. I'll keep in touch. Thanks again!

    When you start your siphon from the carboy lift the siphon hose off the bottom when you start the first pump ,after it strts flowing then lower it to the bottom that will help keep the yeast on the bottom of the carboy and not in your keg, looks like that first pump had a lot of yeast in it..... "Brewing beer is worth it". Yes. Yes it is. The only thing that sucks about brewing is getting a craving for a certain beer and then having to wait 3-4 weeks for it to be ready. I read an article about a Polish style called Grodziskie, decided I needed to brew it, brewed it last weekend, and now it's just sitting in a carboy fermenting, when I wanted to try it last weekend.

    Hello there from northern Greece!! Congrats for your amazing videos!! They are trully inspiring! I'm a rookie home brewer and since now, I have only used canned malt extracts to make my beer (succesfully enough I would say).
    I have my own production of a special kind of wheat named Triticum dicoccon also known as emmer which I mainly use for bread making flour. After watching your videos I'm considering using it for home brewing too. Have you ever done your own malting or can you suggest instructions on malting how to? There are many videos on YT with the same process but they vary on the time periods.
    Another question I would like to ask is about the Cl2 in the water. In my area, tap water is not too much chlorinated so I've used it without filtering for the beer I've brewed since now. How and how much chlorinated water affects the whole process?
    Sorry for my veeeeery long post!!!
    Kind regards from N.Greece!!
    Anthony

    Hey Larry! Love your vids man. Quick question: my wort stopped fermenting at 1.020. OG was 1.060. I'm not sure what happened there, maybe I didn't pitch enough yeast. Do you think I can still carbonate it in bottles with some priming sugar, or should I invest in a keg and carbonate it with that? Cheers man!

    • @ege1993
      @ege1993 4 роки тому

      @@BEERNBBQBYLARRY I was aiming for 1.010 FG. If it stopped early wouldn't that mean that there isn't enough yeast in the fermenter? So would I still need to add priming sugar even though there's a bunch of unfermented sugars still in solution? Yeast strain was US-05 dry yeast. I mean I'm asking because I'm kind of confused, I don't think I underpitched, I added a gram less than a standard pack to a 5 gallon wort. Didn't aerate or rehydrate the yeast, just plain dry pitched as I always do.

  • @boatbuilder1954

    Larry, I have a question, All of by brew's have been Ales and I kegged most of them however the batch I am fermenting right now is a Larger( by mistake,when I bought the kit it came with Larger yeast so I had to keep it at 54-59 degrees) and next week I plan on kegging it. I plan on adding 1/3 cup priming sugar to the keg and adding 5# Co2 to seal the lid and bleed the air out and let it sit for 2 weeks before putting the keg in the kegerator. I have done the quick carb thing but would rather wait and let the beer carb more naturally. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks, Dale

    Question for you. I recently started kegging and I’m having an issue with carbonation. I’ve checked and all my fittings are tight, no leaks, and CO2 is on. I get good head on the beer but very minimal co2 bubbles in the beer itself and i can’t figure out why. I’ve tried force carbonating and just waiting with a lower psi. Can you think of anything that might be causing this?

    • @boughtbybloodhxc
      @boughtbybloodhxc 4 роки тому

      You need to force carb it. When you first keg it, put the psi to 30 and rock the keg back and forth for a couple minutes. Disconnect the gas line and let sit for a day or so. Set regulator to 10 psi and enjoy. It should have a lot more co2 in solution.

    informative but you didnt talk about setting PSI for carbonating and then bleeding and dropping it for serving pressure which is a vital step in the keg process otherwise you will have a volcano coming out of the tap
