    I have fine, low-ish density hair and I love that bounce curl clump & define cream! I literally use a dime sized amount for my whole head of hair! (which is a few inches past my shoulders when dry) I emulsify it with water, glaze lightly, add more water & emulsify, & so on until all my hair is covered &then I rake and / or brush to distribute 💜💜

    It's not CGM approved, but AG hair fast food leave in conditioner is amazing to use as both a leave in and a curl cream! For those of you who don't mind a couple silicones you should really try this! It works amazing for moisture AND curl clumping! If I didn't know it was actually a leave in conditioner, I'd assume it was a curl cream that just happened to be very conditioning. I have to be careful using both a leave in & curl cream to not weigh down my hair, so this is nice because I get the benefits of both in one product!!

    Capric and Caprillic Acid are the lightest most penetrating oils. It is made from coconut and is also known as MCT oil. It is the absolute best for doing an overnight pre-poo before wash day and is great for all hair types but great for fine. MCT oil is used in the Bulletproof brain fuel craze so is readily available to use.
    Pre-poo needs to be several hours. I have super fine hair and have to use this to help keep it from protein loss and from overmoisturizing and getting hygral fatigue if you have fine or very porous hair. My hair is so fine I can't use premade dep Conditioner (even protein ones as they are too moisturizung for me. I do a diy protein treatment with collagen peptides and geletin after an MCT pre-poo.

    Hi Gena I need weight as I have thick/high porosity/highlighted/dry hair - volume isn't an issue lol, but taming is.. I mostly use the shea moisture castor oil leave in conditioner, as it really does give a ton of moisture. For curl cream I flit around trying different things. I know my hair responds better to products aimed at coily hair (I have 2c/3a curls), as they're so much more moisturising and that's what gives me the best results. Sprays and lightweight products are something I would use more when refreshing, but I need a heavy hitting moisture product on washday. Many of the ones shown won't be enough for my hair, to keep it soft and hydrated. I like the jessiecurl too shea conditioner or deep conditioner as a leave in and the cream styler for something a little pricier. My hair is just really really thirsty and can take a lot of creams/butters without ever feeling too heavy. it's just a different hair type from your own and needs slightly different things. Your hair does look great today, so i can see why you like that product line. Best wishes.

    Thank you for this video! For the longest time I never knew what the point of curl creams were and now that you've explained it, it seems obvious and I feel dumb for not realizing it lol. In the past I had tried layering curl creams over my leave-in and it always left my hair weighed and greasy. I was only ever able to successfully use a small amount of cc only on the ends of my hair with both a leave-in and gel or foam/mousse without issues. Now that I know that cc are basically richer leave-ins with some very light hold/styling properties that need to be layered with a gel or foam/mousse, I'm able to put the few cc that I own to good use!

I have chronic migraines and one of my triggers are artificial perfumes; I say artificial bc in my experience light fruity scents don’t bother me. Also, the cinnamon scent of TreLuxe is ok too. ( I had to give away the TreLuxe Curl Cream 🤢; too fragrant!)

    Love curl smith!! Always have a good wash day when I use their products. Just started going curly in early Dec. I purchased their transitioning kit and have really enjoyed it.
    A drugstore leave in you might like is Shea Moisture sugarcane extract & meadowfoam seed silicone free miracle styler leave-in treatment w/marshmallow root. I really enjoy it.

    • @brenten6226
      @brenten6226 2 роки тому +1

      If her hair is fine I'd probably just go with the leave in. Fine hair tends to get weighted down easily and curl creams tend to be heavier products than leave ins. If the leave in alone causes her to be frizzy perhaps try just the curl cream instead. Usually as long as you lock them in with gel or mousse either should work fine and both shouldn't be needed for her fine hair. I hope this helps.

      Just based off the names, the leave-in might be lighter and more suitable for finer hair that gets weighed down easily. The clump and define cream is probably a bit richer/heavier and more suitable for medium to coarse hair.

    Is curlsmith a curl cream curly girl approved?
    Is there a curl cream in innersense? Didn't see it here.
    I noticed curlsmith has an 8 on the clean products apps only due to fragrance, 😥
    Jessicurl has a fragrance free choice on the confident curls, but has urea? Which also is bad in the app.

    • @curlycurlbirdygirl
      @curlycurlbirdygirl 3 роки тому +4

      You can do whatever you want with your hair 😁 just keep in mind that leave in and curl cream kinda serve the same purpose - leave in as a lighter, more moisturizing option and cream as a heavier version, sometimes even with proteins.
      If you were to use them both you may risk a weighed down hair, build up and a hair that's over moisturised. On the other hand, if your hair is super dry or damaged, using both may be beneficial, followed by a sealing product of course. 😉

    • @GenaMarie
      @GenaMarie  3 роки тому +2

      Exactly what others have said :) It's totally up to you. Some people don't find it necessary because curl creams also provide moisture. Some people don't get enough moisture from a curl cream and want to add a leave-in underneath.
