  • Case 279: Zebb Quinn
In early January 2000, residents of Asheville, North Carolina, were told to be on the lookout for 18-year-old Zebb Quinn after he failed to return home after finishing his shift at Wal-Mart. A co-worker of Zebb’s, Robert Jason Owens, claimed that Zebb had sped off after receiving a mysterious message on his pager.
Two weeks later, an unexpected breakthrough in the case presents some bizarre clues. But as twist after twist emerges, the prevailing question remains - did Zebb Quinn leave of his own accord, or was he the victim of foul play?

Both of us have learning disabilities, worked at Wal-Mart(I worked @ Sam's Club), both of us hung out with the wrong crowd, & are way too trusting. I feel as though, if I knew him we would have been buddies. I'm jealous though. I wanted a pager so bad!! Lol! PS just know,, our loved ones in Heaven say, "Hello," many different ways. His favorite song/s will pop up on the radio out of nowhere, white feathers, random coins, heart shaped rocks, cloud formations, etc.. Misty Taylor and Wesley were directly involved. Jason's uncle could have broken into Zebb's aunt's house to make the pager call. But he had to be involved with Wes to have a reason. Maybe there was a local weed or meth ring that Zach found out about.

As someone who lives in the same town as Zebb and frequents the same places, this town, sadly, is nowhere near as safe as people think. Nearly everytime I go to Walmart, I get harassed by someone, and crime is rampant in the downtown area. Literally on my way to dance one night I witnessed a forensic van taking photos of a murder scene. Sadly this stuff is common but people tend to assume the “small town charm” makes it safer than it is :( my prayers go out to his family

I’m 38 minutes in, at the beginning, the narrator talked about Zeb and Jason going to look at a car. Did Deb have cash on him that Jason would like to have? But it does sound like they fall because Jason turned up was significant injury’s. I would make is that Jason shot and police officers, normal people do not shoot police officers. Capable of murder might. Jason didn’t come home all night. Jason called into Zeba work. I’m going with Jason killed him. If he had accomplice, that part, I don’t have a hypothesis.

The puppy was definitely left in the car to draw attention to it, though. Awesome AI Narrator voice.

The fact that every single video made these days comes with a "trigger warning" is more disturbing than the content ever could be.

Nothing like an Ozzi accent. I wonder if it is the ridge didge voice recording and not AI. You can hardly tell these days.

Come now, let us reason together…
If content disturbs you, you just need to put down your device and get outside a little more often.
People are far too thin skinned these days. We’re know we’re getting too soft when we start fearing the idea of thinking.
    Go outside. Breathe. Live.
    Sound fair?

Some parts of the Carolinas (North and South) are very hillbilly, but Asheville where Zebb was from is not. It's very suburban, well-serviced, and a popular tourist destination in the region. But it's also in the Appalachian region, so you get a few minutes outside the suburbs and it's very rural again, though I would say it's still not *hillbilly* until it's all mountains. (By the way, whether you meant it that way or not, "hillbilly" is often used to abuse rural mountain people in the US, though some of us prefer to reclaim the title. Signed, West Virginia hillbilly and proud of it!)

This crime podcast sounds so amateur, no interviews at all? Just dull constant reading. 48hrs & Snapped podcasts are so much better!
