As Black women I believe we should support each other no matter what. Natural, texlaxed relaxed it shouldn’t matter. All the best and blessings on your journey.
Thank you! I appreciate that!
I wish this was true and I pray for this but unfortunately don't think it will ever happen
Don’t judge me, judge yo momma!🤣🤣🤣. After 10 years natural, I’m leaning towards a texlax myself. Thanks for sharing!
😂😂😂😂 Thanks for watching!
Same here! My last relaxer was in 2009! Honestly, my hair grows better in a straightened state. ( Had a BKT for about a year and it grew like a weed!). Do what works for you!
6 years natural, also thinking about it. I'm trying to lose weight and having to do my hair mid week is a pain.
My last relaxer was 2012.... tempted to go buy one tonight!!!!!!
After ten years natural, I Tex-laxed my hair a month ago, shaved the back and the sides and I am loving life, O-Kay!!!!!
After 15 years natural... I feels ya pain, sis. And I commend you. It’s the whole reason I’m here bc I’m plotting my own texlax experiment, so I gotta watch what happens to y’all before I take the leap. 🤣
I FEEL YOU!!!!! I watched Texlax videos for a MONTH before I took the leap because I wanted to see what happens (Tierra J texlax video scared me BAD! 😂😂😂😂)
😂😂😂
Lol
@Lauren saaame 😂
Same!!!!
"Bow your head...I SAID BOW IT"
me: *bows my head nervously*😂😂
That’s hilarious to me! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I know. I was scared too girl.👀😜
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂NEVER wanted to BOW my head so quickly.lol😂😂
Lmaooo!!! Me too! I had one eye open bc there was a lot of bass in that voice... WATCH & pray 👁 lmao
I did the same 👀👀🤣
I’ve been texturizer since 2012...love it. Time is precious and no body has a day or two to do their hair, lol. God Bless the Naturals but God Bless us too!
GOD 👏🏾BLESS👏🏾US👏🏾TOO👏🏾!!! 😂😂😂😫
S Cruz Amen🙏
A day or two?? 😂😅 what?
I have a question. I telaxed my hair 5 months ago can I reapply the texlax on the ends of my hair as well as the roots or should i only focus on the roots?
Crystal Light No just relax the new growth only. You will overprocess your ends if you relax them again.
It’s so sad that people have to give an opinion on what a total stranger does to their hair, you’re good to give an explanation!
Exactly. If I comment and someone says something negative I will not respond. Better to overlook the negative even when you do see it.
I just texlaxed my hair today. I'm in love!!!!!! I did the conditioner and followed your steps and got the results I wanted. I did add coconut oil into it too. But when I tell you my hair looks good. It do look like it's growing downward instead of up. I'm in love, I can't stop saying it. It looks like I did a curly perm. My hair is 4c, thick and no curls unless I twist it or something but now honey I can do a wash and go!
Yesssss! Enjoy!!!!!
Janice Moore hi , how long did you leave it in ?
@@sevenalexandriaa I left it in from start to finish 12 minutes. I put the relaxer on my tighter curls first then my other curls. So when it touched my hair I started the timer. I hope this helps.
Janice Moore thank youuuu !!💕
Wash and go is my dream mine just won’t allow it to be great!
I love how you prayed before the relaxer 🤣🤣🤣🤣
New texlaxed subscriber.
Listen, it was necessary! 😂😂😂😂😂
Tiffany Williams Yessss! I love that!!!
“I don’t want no raggedy box” 😭😭😭😭
I’m natural and I would be anxious about a relaxer too lol
😂😂😂😂 I was legit sooooo nervous!!!!
I have been natural for the past 8 years, and girl I am watching this video to get tips on how to texlax. As soon as i am off work I am going to find me a relaxer. I am too tenderheaded and tired of the knots and blahhhhh I'm finding me one today.
Your hair came out really nice
How did it go
@@davideri10 Hey it went ok I didn't leave it in too long. After about 2 months my hair started to become so dry. I tried a bunch of different things to bring back the moisture, but my hair was still struggling. I also started getting that tender scalp when you need a touch up. So I've been cutting my hair each month. I just got a bottle of Oyin Juices and Berries it felt ok, so I hope it helps.
mysmilewow My hair likes lye relaxer better than no-lye. Lye is supposed to be better on the hair, harsher on the skin. My beautician taught me to put Summit base cream in a squirt bottle, heat it in hot tap water, and apply to the scalp in 1 or half inch sections. It feels like a hot oil treatment. I also put it on my ears, hairline, and focus anywhere I’ve scratched. I rarely burn. Walmart and drug stores don’t carry lye relaxers, but Sally carries it and a 5 gallon tub of Summit. I like Affirm mild, which my beautician uses, but I’m sure any quality brand will do. It’s about $40 on Amazon for a 4-5 pound tub, plus $20-40 for the shampoo and conditioner, but when I keep up with it, my hair is healthy and retains length. I relax every 2 months because my hair grows fast and stretching seems to make it break off, and it lasts me a year or so. A bit of an investment up front, but less than one relaxer in a salon. Good luck!
@@davideri10 liar
Yes yes yes!!! I just texlax my hair two weeks ago today after 10 years as well & im loving the results too. Please keep the feed coming because im not sure how to properly “take care” of my treated hair on a daily weekly bases vs natural. I’m def a new subscriber ❤️
lmaooo i felt this spiritually. Im fed up with natural hair. Mine is "manageable", my curls are "good" as people like to say, but i am DONEEE. I wanna look the way I wanna look, when I wanna look that way, and right now, straight hair is what's it for me. Like u said, it's hair. It'll come back. Anyway thanks for the inspiration. Heading to the beauty supply now :)
Have fun with your new looks!!!
What are "good curls" ???
@@jjjaylynn ask the people that tell me that.... but what i believe they're implying is that since my curls are 3b-4a they are more "manageable" but that's not the case. looser curls does not equal "better" or "good" in my book
Arielle Eva the fact you said “good” is really off putting
@@Pessimsfit the fact that you don't see the quotes around "good" is really off putting
Dont get emotionally attached to my hair.I just had to subscribe
Thank you! 😘
Def, I found myself becoming attached to other people's hair too, I had to check myself!!
Your hair looked beautiful in the clip with no product :( but i understand it being a lot of work. Trust me
I actually miss it. I just needed a break
Faye In The City thanks for your honesty.
I use Hawaiian silky relaxer. It's really a texturizer, so my curls just loosen up. And i use designer touch no drip activator. Makes your hair grow.
I was trying to see reviews on it but couldn’t
3:05 the question isnt why did you ask like the camera was gonna answer. the qustion is why did i answer like you could hear me
OMG! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
i literally nodded at her XD
that second "BOW IT" made me close my eyes and bow my head lmaooooo I'm happy it came out well!
Omg! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
"Bow ya head...I SAID BOW" Lol🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm crying laughing! I'd be praying too. I with you on that one!
😂😂😂😂
Girl..I totally understand. After 10 years I'm on my second textlax and I love my hair. I still have curls without the pain and breakage.
Chile, thank you understanding! Folks got mad at my decision but like I said...they’re not the ones enduring our wash days lol
Which brand did u use?
I used the Just for me Texture softener
I’m happy you’re making a video about this. I texlaxed my hair a couple of months ago & was a nervous wreck because I couldn’t find any recent videos of people & their experiences.
Mine turned out fine and was the best decision I’ve made in a while. People need to see that when you use the products appropriately & the right way, it will come out just fine.
I totally agree!
😂😂😂”It’s my head, I can do what I want”
“JUDGE YO MAMA” 😂😂❤️❤️❤️
Let's be real.. you happy to see that hang time 😂😂😂 Girl.. no judgement from me. I would like to see how this journey goes. 😊
You know me well!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I love your personality 😂😍
Thank you!
I'm sick of my damn hair. I'm going on 4 years natural and I absolutely never wear it out because it's so unruly. I'm thinking about texturizing. 😪
Chileeee i totally understand!!!! And just know if you don’t like texlaxing, you can always go back natural
Faye In The City nobody about to be taking 3 hours just to wash and comb hair like, it's such an inconvenience. Styles never last, it breaks off all the time bc I have so much hair that it just wraps around itself making knots that are impossible to work through. I have like 70% shrinkage and when it shrinks it just mats up at my roots and honestly it's depressing and I'm over it. To the point where I don't even care about my length anymore because it's not like I ever wear it outside of a wig anyway!! I think I'm going to just say fuck it and do it. If nothing else, it'll cut down my wash time and take less time to braid under my wigs.
@@chiresehoskie4473 yoooo saaaammmeee!!! I nodded my head vigorously to EVERYTHING YOU JUST SAID!
Terena Rosa can I get a witness? 😫. I'm overrrr it. I think I'm going to do it next month.
Natural hair is stressful. I haven’t worn my hair out in 4 years and every time I want to texturize it my hairdresser won’t let me. I am tired of the hair.
Finally someone that speaks the truth! I have been dealing with my 4c hair for 2 days....it took 4 hours to detangle and Bantu knot...and my hair is not even thick just very tight naps. Products are ridiculous after every wash I have 6-8 products just to get manageable naps...then after all the work...I get a normal 2-3 day style IF IT DOES NOT RAIN. As a 38 year old woman with a full time job and full time school no thanks.
It came out so good! I’m getting excited 😊 I’m fed up to, I don’t even wear my hair at this point. Trying to maintain it is literally depressing and so time consuming & I’m sick of being bound to wigs

Well I’ll be damned. I bowed my head so fast 😂
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
Jas Nicole Me too!!! lol
I liked this video just from the prayer alone lol cuz i feel u!!! The anxiety i feel with u...im about to do mine as well
GURL. I was with you 1000% in this video. Thank you for giving testimony to the texlaxed life! I'm about to join my texlaxed sisters 'cause I'm tied of this full curl.
Your profile picture is so pretty!
I know thats right girl!!! Gotta do what you want to do with YOUR hair!!!
I applaud you for your bravery I been natural a little over 5 years and I want to do something to my hair because I don't get to wear the styles that I want. Love your outcome.
Thank you!
JUDGE YA MOMMA 🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 you go girl!! you've helped me make my DECISION after 13 years!! Thank you!!!
I’m here because I feel the same way!!! My hair is thick and it’s A LOT!!!! I never understand people going crazy on them about their hair. Permed or natural, I never go crazy about other people’s hair.
I was so confused at first because I thought texlax was a laxative.🤷🏻♀️
Omgggggg! 😂😂😂😂
Ok first off love the profile pic 😍🤣and secondly GIRL!!! U MADE MY DAY!that’s funny 😆 I was a bit confused at first too
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😮😮😮
Hee hee
Boogiedoogie&toogie LOL! Fair
I'm so happy I found this video! I'm about to texlax my hair today this video is exactly how I feel! Your vibe is EVERYTHING!!! Thanks for sharing, I bowed for the prayer by the way! Lmao
I feel you, Faye. For me it was cleaning up the shed hair alone. Loose natural hair is a large time and mental commitment that I could devote to just...living. I took a different route than you and locked my hair. Tells you something when almost 300 locs on a head is significantly less maintenance than the loose hair. It works for me, and I ain’t looking back!
Girl, had to sub. You are a whole mood & I love it!! 😂😂 I’ve been natural for abt 9yrs & it’s driving me bat💩 crazy. Texlax here I come!!
Enjoyyyyy!
You're right, it is your hair! I have natural hair too, and it can be a pain in the ass to maintain. You're beautiful no matter what you choose to do with your hair.
I’m here a whole two years later and the first two minutes was all I needed to hear. I have two young boys who I love to get dirty with and the natural just isn’t working anymore. SICK OF IT. Twelve years is enough for me.
I understand. I’m 10+ years natural and I am seriously thinking about texlaxing, which is why I’m watching your video! 😂😂
“I ain’t gonna lie I got anxiety like a mug. My nails done started popping off listen” ❤️😂😂😂😂
You had me howling! I have so much hair, I started texlaxing around 2002. It was the only way I could manage my hair over 1 inch or so. I wanted the option to wear it wavy/curly, so I tried under processing it. It was 5 years before I had a name for it! It’s still HUGE when I air dry, but easier to detangle.
"Honey, these names just be doin' the most." 😂😂😂😂 ok, this is my last post....maybe. 👀
The absolute most! 😂😂😂😂
I just love you. You remind me of how me and my cousin clown when we together. Thanks for the laughs. I'm relaxed, I understand. God heard you. Amen.
This comment made me smile. Thank you!
"I can feel somebody judging me right now 🖕🖕I dont care" 😂😂 this is so me
My sister and I went totally natural, but she ended up relaxing her hair because she said it was to "unmanageable."
I was disappointed, but it her hair. She said she'll go back to being natural later, but not right now. 🤷🏾♀️
I feel her!!! I will eventually go 100% natural again. I just wanted a break!
Ppl who tout unmanegeableness are those who wish they had a different hair type and so they have expectations they can't meet. They aren't satisfied with what they have.
epic loool that was a huge reach. People have busy lives, I’m
Guessing busier than urs, and sometimes we just don’t have all the time in the world to keep it healthy and up to standard as it should be. Secondly there are people who are tender headed and feel a lot of pain with their 4c hair. Just let ppl be man
@@hawksmoor9007 You really don't get it do you?
@@hawksmoor9007 there's no standard anyone has to reach. It's just making sure your hair is healthy. They are the ones putting expectations on themselves and think that their hair has to look a certain way. Which is why it's unmanegeable for them because it doesn't look how they think it should.
I love your hair either way, and I did the same thing. I used Just for Me Texture Softener (adding olive oil to it), but I still use natural hair products to keep my hair moisturized. I love it! I can wear my down.
The middle finger to the judgers...love it!❤️
So as my hair dried completely, I saw the final results. If you’re familiar with the curl typing system, I went from 4B to 3B/3C. I low key wanted it a little straighter BUT the silver lining is my hair is not damaged so I’ll take it. When I do my touch up in a few months, I’ll straighten it more.
Do what make you happy love.
Thank you!
Selina Zinchuk I love your videos on hair growth.
@@delladabner7998 Thank you love 😍😊
the chortle i let out when shordy started singin the jeffersons 😭😭😭 thank you for the vid sis !!!
SIDE SHOW BOB!! 🤣🤣🤣 I hollered!
I‘ve tried blowing my hair out, I’ve tried wash and gos, I’ve tried so many hair products I feel like I’ve spent over $500 on products. It’s time to either texturize or relax my hair, I’ve given it my all. Loved the video btw 🙏❤️❤️
“Low key, I look Like Sideshow Bob from The Simpsons” that’s a huge issue in the curly/texture hair community” they really criticize people when you straighten your hair, Tex lax, relax, or even use silicones! Having Coarse and/or Curly is hard to maintain without ever starightening. We get to the point where we know what works and doesn’t work for our hair! ❤️
Omg Faye I am rewatching this video because I am going to Texlax my hair. You are my go to for natural hair products
Lmaoo them middle fingers sold me I had to subscribe 😂😂
😫😫😫😂😂😂😂😂
I love your energy 😂. You don’t have to explain your hair choices to anyone. Live your life how you see fit. After 5 years I decided to texturize my hair as well and I’m terrified 😂 Pray for me. Your hair came out beautiful by the way
Thanks for posting this video!!! I’ve been on the “texlax fence” for few months now. I’ve been natural for approximately 22 years and while I’ve enjoyed the journey, I’m tired! LoL. Today is the day!
I closed my eyes so quick and tight. You’re the Sunday school teacher from the early 80’s that scarred me for life. I’ll go to every church service on Sunday and through the week, but Sunday school is a hard limit.
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
As a natural I completely understand! Sometimes I high key miss my relaxed hair. My bob was on point every day and it was easier lol. Do you, boo!
Mannnn, I used to have a short cut and the back was shaved. It was sooo easy having short hair!!!! I miss those days! 😫😫😫
@@FayeInTheCity yessssss! I hate that you and people have to explain why and what they are doing to THEIR head! It's just hair, and it will be okay. Sheesh 😁
Yes ma'am👏👏👏❤ I see you girl witcha length you just gave me the confidence to do mine. The top of my head is 3b/3c and the bottom is 3c/4a lol and I just want it all to blend together.
Ikr like how does THAT happen? God damn race mixing. I can’t be natural no more. My texturized curls look amazing to me and look how it should had my hair acted right.

I FEEL YOU Faye In The City. I'm 4c and I'm BONE TIRED. We can do whatever we want with our hair. I've been natural going on 4 years and 4c hair is A MESS. I'm THISCLOSE to texlaxing. Tired of twist outs failing, SHRINKAGE looking like Cicely Tyson in Sounder at work with people asking "Did you cut your hair?". Every morning I don't know what it's going to look like. I'm TIRED of being shocked by my appearance every morning. Tired of multiple products. 4c hair can be extremely resistant. You look fabulous. Who cares what people think about YOUR hair. People with manageable natural hair (3a, 3b, 3c, and yes even 4a hair) don't know, girl....
As someone who went natural two years ago and hasn't put any chemicals in it for my OWN reason, I support your decision, it's your damn hair and you can do with it what you want. Love your videos
