As of today, Germany has shut down, not completedly like Italy, but almost. It's all about avoiding direct social contacts for the sake of the elderly and for the vulnerable. So we all have to accept it for good reason, I guess.

Hagebuttenmarmelade. Üblicherweise ist die Oberseite mit grobem Zucker bestreut, aber auch mit Puderzucker. I cannot believe that I was also there( maybe not on the same day as i believe it was friday) at Karneval. I was learning German at Carl Duisberg Centren which was only 5-10 minutes away from Karlsplatz Stachus . If you had gone a little further past Marienplatz there was a bigger area where there were more stands and a big stage with performances and so many people you could barely walk. Funny as I might have been able to say hello. Sadly im back in the US because of covid but München was and still is my second home as so to speak and I really want to get back to Germany.

In Austria Carneval is also a big thing - or better the Monday and
Tuesday before Ash-Wednesday. I don't know if it's the same in Germany
but in Austria school's pretty fun on that Tuesday. Well, depending on
what "side" you're on... since celebrations begin on Monday many
teenagers will party on Monday and then - from the party - go directly
to school. If you're a teacher that menas half of your class is
completely drunk, another 25% are if not completely drunk at least not
sober either (let's say tipsy ;-) ). And the party usually goes on in
front of the school grounds. Many students will not even enter the
school building but keep partying and drinking outside (just a step away
from school grounds where of course they wouldn't be allowed to drink).
If you're a teacher that means students will come and go during
lessons, and sometimes become more and more drunk each time they come
back if they come back at all. You wouldn't see that anywhere else in
the world (except probably Germany) or on any other day of the year...
