Hi from central Otago 👋 yeah I'm ordering this tomorrow morning 😂 I just hope the blasted courier takes better care of this box than the apiguard tubs I got from you guys a couple of weeks ago 😂 they must have dropped something heavy on them, I literally had to unfold the tubs 😳 but hey they didn't burst👍🤣 and they did a fantastic job of clearing up the chalkbrood I had too, but I think I might send you up a plastic tub to put them in for my next order😅, central Otago courier drivers are rough👍🤣 great video and timely, I've been talking to other beekeepers about this and they swear by it and also recommended I get it from you guys 👍👋

11:19 - I bought the kit. Question: when saving the left over solution for later, does it degrade having mixed OA and glycerine? Any time frame that it would need to be used in? I think I read Randy Oliver talking about OA converting to oxalate

It is quite okay to reuse it up to 6 months later if it has been stored in an airtight container and is properly reheated and mixed before re-use.

it can vary from the type and thickness of chipboard you use. You need to go for 40-50pt chipboard if you can. You weight your strip before soaking and after and you can calculate how much you have absorbed

    Isn't it 50-50?

Earlier this year we did a trial with the cardboard strips soaked in 50:50 solution and the results were not as good as when we used 40:60. We have used 40:60 (OA/Glyc) strips in our hives for 4 years with great success. Randy Oliver did a field trial in 2022 with our strips soaked in 40:60 solution and achieved very good results. They are published on his website.
