  • In this video, we remove the backseats to make more space for bass in DaSlapBox, which is my 2011 Scion xB car audio build,
    It's not a racecar, it's a bass car.
    The port of my subwoofer box for my Fi BL18 was being choked by the rear hatch/trunk door and the only way to solve the problem was to remove the backseats and move the box away from the back of the car.
    Removing the backseats is very easy, the bottom just pulls off and the back is held in by a few bolts. After removing the backseats I took measurements for the frame I needed to build and the new wooden trunk floor I was going to make.
    Thanks for watching!

    Man I like the progress videos. Some of the things don’t get finished all at once and I think most of us with builds understand that! That platform is gonna make a big difference I’d say letting that port breathe. Nice work!

      Thanks for the feedback! And yea if I waited until each phase was done it’d take me forever to put stuff out (not that it doesn’t now haha). And yea it already makes me a lot more secure about security if the amp and it’s mounting. Thanks for watching man, have a great one!

    I like the construction updates, its interesting and gives me motivation for my own project. Maybe put the other content on a secondary channel MoreBadNewz or something.

      Thanks, I definitely hope my videos can inspire some progress on some builds! And yea I actually already have a channel that strictly AV stuff, I was just considering merging then a bit. But I like the MoreBadNewz idea, I’m gonna have to use that for something for sure!!

    Man these videos are well done. I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla Rumion (I'm in Japan) and virtually nobody does bass in Japan, let alone in a Rumion/xB, so these videos are a HUGE help for my build. Not sure if I want to go 4 12's or 2 15's.

    • @DaBadNewz
      @DaBadNewz  3 місяці тому

      Thanks! And oh really? Didn't know car audio wasn't very popular out there (but now that I think of it, I can't remember seeing a car audio video from Japan, but I have seen a few subs in more race-style cars).
      That's really cool though man, I'm glad you can find some use out of them, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate! Pretty sure for the next version of my build I want to do 15s (thinking 3, but I'll have to see how the math works out).
      Super jealous you got easy access to all the Rumion parts! I've been thinking about planning a trip to Japan just for the parts shopping.
      Thanks for checking out the channel man!

    hey how to remove rear seats?! that’s crazy

    • @DaBadNewz
      @DaBadNewz  Рік тому +1

      Let's see if I remember correct. You have to remove the back part first, it folds down and then you have access to the 6 or so bolts that hold it in place (4 on the back, and 2 that hold it to the sides). With the back out, the part you sit on just pops out if you pull on it. Under that there is a metal frame that it is mounted to (you can see at 0:17), that you can remove with a few bolts. I just left it in there though and use it as support for my frame the box sits on.
      Hope that helps!
      Thanks for watching!

      @@DaBadNewz i released all bolts, bottom part of seat just should be pulled up?

    • @DaBadNewz
      @DaBadNewz  Рік тому

      @user-ey4sj6xu1z yea it’s just locked in there with 2 clips, you kinda just pull up on the seat and it will release itself (you can see me do it in the very beginning of the video, but it happens quick)

      For cars like that you gotta get creative (also depends on how deep you wanna go). I would seal it up and port through the shelf as part of my box design, or at least leave room for the trunk to breathe into the rest of the car.
      I literally bought this car because the shape was good for bass!
      Good luck figuring that out though, and thanks for checking out the video

    best case scenario imo would be if you could post a car audio video and your audio video work video at the same time. 2 posts so its kinda like a win win for both. If you want to post anything you gotta bro regardless but since you brought it up we wouldn't mind a car audio video along side it. If takes longer im cool with that if you are. lol

      Maaaaan just the fact that you would watch 2 videos if I dropped em means a lot to me! I appreciate the feedback! And yea I’m not trying to switch to the AV stuff, just kinda bring another part of what I do to this channel you know? Definitely still gonna keep it car audio regardless!
