But being a civil engineer, I have certain, disagree points with the video. Inspite of advantages the major disadvantages are.
1) Nailing or drilling will be tedious process. You need to make a pocket hole to fix a nail on the wall. ( which may develop the,easy chances of cracking, as AAC blocks are very brittle)
2) The strength also in most of the cases depends the type of constituents. For eg. If less amount of fly ash ( pozolonic material) is mixed. The strength will comparatively be very less, which might inturn not allow you to reduce the size of the load bearing structures, as stated in video.
3) Installation in wet weather climate builds up the chance of making cracks. ( fly ash devlops shrinkage cracks)
I would suggest , not go for AAC block, as they need more structured Maintenance for residential. But, they re more advantageous in industrial buildings, warehouse. Etc.

@@gurumadasamy6971 I am not a civil engineer. According my little knowledge, bricks is the best to build living rooms where one sleeps and spend the most of the time.
To reduce the materials and labour cost, one may use any material to build compound walls, toilets, kitchens etc.

Plastering cost will actually reduce, as the levels of the surface will be almost similar, but when using for external walls, more chances of development of crack are possible. And as you said this will not have that much difference in the structural members.

Aac is cost effective when used for more than 3 floors, not for single house building, when used, plaster the aac walls on both sides, and also put through sill level at 4 feet, and through lintel at 7 ft, otherwise there is a chance for crack formation, I used in my house, and I not recommend to other's by my experience

- Easy to work
- Plastering will be even and easier as the surface is levelled while constructing itself
Disadvantages
- While using for external walls, I have faced lot's of cracks development, but it's good for internal and walls which aren't exposed for sunlight - in terms of plastering, but can be a better choice for industrial buildings if they are finished without plastering.

No,i wont agree to go with AAC blocks. Though they r budget friendly, it develop cracks. So we stopped it. Few projects we r using for base only. But now it shows white sediment coming out and outer lining becomes porus and after absorbing water. So as a builder i completely dont recommend it
