Thanks for this great review! 👍🏻 I got the exact same headset since spring 2019. Got it for „free“ as an add on to my Omen 15. I really love it! The frost caps are really a game changer for me. Man, do I hate cooking ears… All gone with this headset. The weight is fine for me, the build quality is very good. Also the sound and mic, as you also mentioned. I would definitely buy it again, if it dies. And as you said, the HP software works fine on my new XMG Neo 17 (E21). All in all a great piece of equipment, if you ask me. Peace! ✌🏻
I like these add-on reviews, I hope you cover more perhiferals like keypads also. You'd be surprised how many have worn through their gaming laptops keys from heavy WASD fps use. I wish I had known about that before lol. I hope there will be a low profile keypad one day.
I think cherry starts to make good low profile Laptop keyboards already. They are in Alienware Laptops. And hopefully in more Laptops in the future because they have a longer lifespan then rubber dome and especially when we gamers only use wasd keys those mecanical laptop keys from cherry could really improve the longterm usability of a Gaming laptop keyboard for gaming. I hope so at least.
@@Defender004 ah this is good to hear, cause my MSI Laptops keys, how they are attached to the board like a folding lawn chair, don't do well with long term effects and horizontal pressure. Good to know there's a more robust system in the works.
Thanks for the review. Been thinking of getting a pair for ages but was never really convinced on the cooling technology and the quality itself. Video made a lot of sense to me and I'll probably try and get a cheap second hand and see how it goes.
Liked and appreciate the review will take a look at them for the GF but personally at the $150ish price point would really want a detachable cable. Also if you do another headset review could you try it with sunglasses just for the myopic among us?
just got this on sale for $40 really great headset for that price, cooling works really well and theres actually condensation inside on the inner panels lol decent mic and sound quality
Hey great review, just wondering is that the original mindframe you have on? or the new prime? If its the original do you feel the cooling is a lot more noticeable? Because on the prime it has "passive" cooling instead
These are just $59.99 at Best Buy right now. I haven't even picked them up yet, but I'm excited since I haven't gotten a nice set like this before. I know at $150-200 these didn't quite hold up to competition, but at just $60, I can't imagine much else compares. And I run hot, I'm super excited about the ear cooling, even if it weighs a bit more because of it.
@@reymartinez6395 I'm super happy with mine after just 1 day of use. My fat head and low ears I actually had to remove the head pad/band and put just a thin one on the top. But now it fits perfectly.
$150 still seems to be high to me. Some serious competition in the same price range from audio technica, steel series, sennheiser, etc. Bought the sennheiser game one refurbished for $105 and i have a hard time going back to closed back headsets/headphones unless I'm in public.
Yeah it definitely depends on the price bottom line doesn’t it? If you Google lowest price on this headset ever it’s been as low as $59.99. Big difference from the $134.99 it is today. A few months ago it was $74.99 🤷
Just grabbed a pair of these to go with my Omen 40L I just bought. They were awesome until today when the audio started breaking up for no reason randomly, and now the audio is just chopping and crackling constantly. I have tried everything and it is not on the PC or software end. My speakers and other headphones work fine. I feel like the Mindframe is rather fragile or has wiring issues from what I have gathered from research on Amazon and Reddit. Gonna have to return I think.
The only down side that I care about is the sound quality when I compare it to my other headphones this one comes last but overall I really like the headset
Thanks! My ears turn bright pink and feel like they will catch on fire after an hour or so of regular headset use, this is surely the solution for me I just hope they are comfortable because my head looks a lot rounder than yours does. Hopefully its just the baldness emphesizing your nice egg shaped head shape. (It might not sounds like a good thing but its something us round heads are jealous of) Really surprised ppl still play overwatch in 2021 tho! neat.
Thanks a lot for the review and I know I am a little bit late to ask this question, though I recently bought the headset and while one cup (right side) is very cold the other (left side) is actually hot or normal, so my question is that, is it supposed to work like that? or does my headset have an issue? Kindly advise!
It may have an issue, tried touching the cups with your fingers, if you notice a drastic difference contact HP (I had an issue with this new headsets which 1 side didnt have any noise and the other worked flawlessly)
@@UNIVFranco Thanks a lot for replaying to me I waited for quite sometimes for one to answer my query! anyway, as you mentioned mine had an issue so I returned it back to amazon and got a new one which does not have that issue! Thanks a lot again really appreciated :)
Exactly, they don’t! That’s the point of the frost caps, and they are really doing a great job. I‘d never buy a headset without this cooling tech anymore. Peace! ✌🏻
Hi! I just had my Omen Mindframe and I'm having a negative experience especially that my voice seems strange. :( I noticed that when I only have my audio, the quality is impressive. However, when I take a video, my audio sounds bad :< Any tips for this?
I’m not too sure because the audio that you heard in this review was me actually through recorded video meaning I was using shadowplay so I was screen capturing the whole time during the audio recording.
Me and my brain were hoping that the quality of the headphone will be similar to the eluktronics headphone. I like it, but I really hate the red colour. Bleh lol
@@shalucard107 we are using it in a course. They break sooo fast. nearly everyone in the course had to send them back. The mic breaks VERY fast (the cable or something)
It truly irks me that they're still sticking with that gaudy gamer red with no other options. The aesthetic is just terribly dated and looks incredibly tacky. If they offered a solid black, I'd have a pair en route. Regardless, this was a great review. Thanks Bob. 👍
so lately my headset has been having a static noise that has been annoying not only myself but the people on the receiving end. it goes on for a while until find the sweet spot for the mic. if anyone is having the same troubles do you have a fix?
Microphone wears out fast and after a year or two you everyone on the other side will hear loud crackling and after two years you will hear it too and they will hear nothing. I returned mine back once and got newer improved version of them and the same thing happened... So microphone connection is shit.
@@BobOfAllTrades I have just dismantle it. The system for turning mic on/off is really crappy. By putting it up, the !CABLE! of mic pushes tiny little plastic button and cut the power to mic. So after time of turning on/off the plastic cover of the cable breaks and then the wire itself starts to taking damage...
