Love this era of cutlass 69,79,71,72 and 73 I had a 70 loved it!! I want to do a restomod on a 70 but wod go with a supercharger on the engine. Love the turbo but want the supercharger!
This is flat out incredible, guys. I've followed this build since day one, and I've eagerly anticipated this final installment for quite some time. Let me say, it was worth the wait! I own a blue '71 myself, and while the S71 has been inspiring, it's also heartbreaking, knowing I'll never be able to achieve what you guys have with this car. Mind officially blown! Thanks and keep it up, fellas!
It look just like mine right down to the paint, I wish I had that power plant but I honestly love the little 350 rocket! Fun ride. I might go this way some day
this car totally reminds me of my 71 cutlass, that had a turbocharged 350 olds with a 4 speed, 12 bolt and 3.42 gear. I promise you that car was scarey fast, sideways through 3rd gear, insane power, docile and quiet as could be. God i miss that car. it was even a similar blue color from back in the day.
Whoever was doubting this would make boost obviously has very little experience with turbo engines! That's really funny. Give it an anti- lag system and it'll leave the line on as much boost as you choose. Nice car...
Why did you even bother doing a 1st gear burnout? Should have been a man and just drop it in 2nd and snap 3rd straight away. That's how us Aussies do it
Great great job team. It's so nice seeing every part of this beauty replaced or refurbished. Maybe some day I will be able to do the same to my 72 Chevelle, 2 door, forged 383 sbc with a 76mm turbo. Mine drives just like you deceived in this vid. Gotta have drag radials to get any sort of traction. Well... Again, great car, thanks for building a bad ass classic with taste!!
455 would be awesome, I had that motor 455 rocket in a olds custom cruiser waagon given to me free for helping a retired painter re do his dry wall in a rental house he owned, I was just 18 but i swear every muscle car that pulled up to me at the light and snickered at that car, i tickled the pedal n gave them that serious Nod n ran off n left them all behind me, next red light was them saying wow what u got under the hood, id say just a 350 to watch them squirm in embarrassment, put being a station wagon I had the weight for great Traction, I always wanted to drop that motor in a cutlass supreme it just had 60 thousand miles, but ended up trading it in for a new pickup truck
It's all Olds. Started as a DX 350 diesel block, offset ground '66 Olds 425 crank, BBC H-beam rods, custom pistons yielding 422 cubes. The complete engine build is on UA-cam, look up S71 engine build with BTR Performance.
V8TV Thank you for answering. I did follow the engine build, but the valve covers threw me and its been done awhile I'm figuring. Always heard that the high-nickel content diesel block was favorable because of its strength. Well that's got to be the best Cutlass on the street....
wow what a awesome Oldsmobile, no body can need anymore speed than what that power than what that has that has no rust on body, n just surface rust on frame, repaint the frame n replace bushinns. put a newer updated suspension on her, she has disc brakes all the way around n a 455 motor, fresh n up interior headliner n re upholster seats, heck go over the whole car n make it great like you did here, am I looking at about 50- 70 thousand in work n materials all dais and done, or does anyone who has rebuilt one have a better idea how much do rebuild it the right way , i want to keep it n pass it on to my son when im dead n gone if fate is kind to us, n ride n enjoy it until then here n there
What a shame, after the great engine build, no dyno numbers! leave any of the rest of the information out, but give us the performance information, disappointing!
+Ben N not sure what's hilarious, but the delivery timeline didn't allow us to get to the dyno. Our shop is in the Midwest, and the car was being delivered to the West Coast customer after being on display at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. We would have loved to chassis dyno the car, but just ran out of time.
Does it really matter? It was built to be fun and bad ass. It did both quite well...No you can't be satisfied with that. You want the numbers crunched and handed to you on a silver platter. It's not hard to do a little research on DX builds to get a rough estimate on what it's making you ungrateful wanker.
studio571 We experimented with that process, but the lightweight 'glass bumpers kept changing shape no matter how we body worked them. The "chrome" process would look like a very bad chrome job as they flexed.

wath can you tell if i add in 8.2 500 cid caddys engine in 1969 cutlas ?

I love this Cutlass the whole setup.
Thanks, so do we!
That's a really cool build. I actually like how it doesn't boost up right away.
Thank you Ben!
That is one of my top favorite car builds of all time! What a great car thanks for covering the build.
they did it awesome n put a lot of research n talent n hard work n money into it for sure, what a great way to show case their craftsmanship
wow, great work
I felt like I was listening to Nick Offerman(Ron Swanson) 🤣🤣🤣
Fit and finish on this car is very good - spot on panel gaps. Well done V8TV Team
Thank you! We have a very talented crew that likes what they do, and it shows in their work.
Would love to see how this Beautiful Olds does in the Quarter Mile. Would make a great follow up video.
That would be cool. The car has been with it's owner since we delivered it to him a while back.
Man, that's one sharp Oldsmobile. A turbocharged SBO is definitely on the wish-list! Awesome car, V8TV.

I have an all original 71’ 455 Cutlass SX … I guess it’s kinda a rare one .. ?? 😊
Love It! Thanks for building an Olds! Such a Nice Looking Body Style !
It look just like mine right down to the paint, I wish I had that power plant but I honestly love the little 350 rocket! Fun ride. I might go this way some day
that s71 is a beast! love way it was done, very tastefully done.
My 71 had the dual gate, cant image how much more awesome it would`ve been with the 4 speed.but gettin her down to mid 9`s was pretty fun.
Lovely, lovely, car Oeste!!!!! I’d love to give it some bigger rubber but hey gotta have enough money to buy it first!!!!

Very nicely done! Huge fan of what you did with the engine, it's perfection!
Thank you sir! It's a fun car for sure!
Love when that turbo kicks in💪
Very nice final wrap up. I love happy endings. Maybe turbo cars will be a v8 TV staple?

beautiful, you did a great job with the car!
Beautiful car
Some day I will have a 72 supreme my dream car. Would love that one haha
That's a fun build!
BEAUTI-FULL FIT and FINISH
Sweet ride. Need blueprint to make another cutlass like this
We'd love to build another, but there are a few things we'd update. Thanks for the kind feedback!
What size front and rear Weld wheels are you running? Thinking about getting these for my 87 GN. Thanks, awesome cutlass!
omg looks good thx for good idea for my olds engine "how to do it"
Beautiful car Nathan and the crew y all the man
The fin works on this body, my first Cutlass was a blue 70 S
Nice ride!
Thanks!

Awesome
Who designed the turbo system
Very nice.
Bill Travato builds the best oldsmobile motors.
F'n awesome
I have a 71 cutlass. And I want to do a turbo like yours.
What types of motor can I put in my 77 cutlass supreme
Only thing I would have added would be red fenderwells car is fn awesome
El mejor muscle car!!!
Put another turbo in it 😮
How can I put a turbo on my 455 Olds ?
BAD -ASS TURBO-KIK-KING POW-ROAR !!
LOVE TO BUILD MY 70’442 PROJECT WITH A TURBO LIKE YOURZ! IS THATA STOOCK OLDS 400 BLOCK?
Thanks! That is an Olds diesel DX block. You can find the whole engine build series here: ua-cam.com/play/PLFFF564927C5A0344.html
I love it
Incredible I had a stock 350 with a2800 stall with 342 gear shift kit.beat 350 Chevy I roc.
This car got burnt up in the Paradise Camp fire very sad. It had to be over $100,000 build
What’s the guitar riff at the beginning?
Been 10 years or so why has it not been put on a dyno dunno
Is it a Olds or a CBB?
It's all Olds. Started as a DX 350 diesel block, offset ground '66 Olds 425 crank, BBC H-beam rods, custom pistons yielding 422 cubes. The complete engine build is on UA-cam, look up S71 engine build with BTR Performance.

Thanks for the kind words! The fabricated James Gang covers do look like BBC parts. We appreciate the feedback!
My dad is giving he’s to me when i get my license
I never heard of the S71. What is that?
wow what a awesome Oldsmobile, no body can need anymore speed than what that power than what that has that has no rust on body, n just surface rust on frame, repaint the frame n replace bushinns. put a newer updated suspension on her, she has disc brakes all the way around n a 455 motor, fresh n up interior headliner n re upholster seats, heck go over the whole car n make it great like you did here, am I looking at about 50- 70 thousand in work n materials all dais and done, or does anyone who has rebuilt one have a better idea how much do rebuild it the right way , i want to keep it n pass it on to my son when im dead n gone if fate is kind to us, n ride n enjoy it until then here n there
How much would you charge for all the turbo kit I got a 72 Cutlass supreme I want to turbo
No boost= trash fuel economy. The whole point of boost is to use it...
Get the dyno these numbers mean nothing we can all guess but dyno will tell the truth
What a shame, after the great engine build, no dyno numbers! leave any of the rest of the information out, but give us the performance information, disappointing!
I'ma buy a car like this and hellcat swap it.
Drive that thing like a man! Buddy behind the wheel acting like a lil bitch, HOLD IT DOWN BRUH
thats hilarious, go to the trouble to do all the work, build the motor, design the turbo, film the whole process, but don't have time for the dyno. BS
+Ben N not sure what's hilarious, but the delivery timeline didn't allow us to get to the dyno. silver bumpers not that nice... crome would be way nicer
The bumpers are fiberglass to reduce weight.
V8TV
ok, did yu guys know they crome those as well... well it is actually a paint but almost as nice as real crome. great job guys !
studio571 We experimented with that process, but the lightweight 'glass bumpers kept changing shape no matter how we body worked them. The "chrome" process would look like a very bad chrome job as they flexed.
studio571 "Chrome" would be more betterer.
