the moment Murph realizes it is her dad communicating through morse gives me GOOSEBUMPS
I get goosebumps too! Such an amazing movie and I cry every time I see this. Beautiful
And you realize when she tries to stop him from going in the beginning of the movie because of the falling books. Sending the same message. But he ignored it and still went

Interstellar has some of the best writing I’ve ever seen in a movie. I don’t know of any other movie that makes your mind bend like that. It all comes together in the end. When murph tells cooper that she heard things in her room as a kid, nobody would suspect that it was her dad from the future, time traveling back to those moment to try to stop himself from leaving. Quite beautiful.
Inception is pretty good aswell if you haven’t seen it, give it a watch.
I actually thought it was him initially. Just because I'd been learning about black holes and worm holes. Absolutely brilliant film still
Christopher Nolan is the goat. TENET was another mind fuck of a movie.

So basically its the 5th dimension. Where Time is completely undefined. Its value is infinity
Yep
Can you break it down to me? Like how does being in 5th make time undefined? Is it like us explaining what 3D is to a 1D being?
@@kstax9225 I think it's because the 4th dimension is time and also in the 4th dimension every aspect of the 3rd dimension is like us viewing a flat piece of paper so someone in the 4th dimension could see everything in the 3rd dimension from every angle all at once. So when you go to the 5th dimension you move beyond time as a concept and such it becomes undefined.

So cooper communicated to Murph through morse code and spelled “Stay” to try and get his old self to not go on the mission, but if he never went on that mission he wouldn’t be in this crazy dimension to communicate to Murph. This thought makes my brain hurt
I can’t remember the name of it but there’s a theory of time to explain away the paradox, something like an independent time loop. Time loops can effect parts of what led them to be created but still exist, at the same time the created alternative reality occurs as well
just a time paradox
So he is fated to do the mission?
@Adam Gould ok will do thanks for the recommendation. But can you explain what a “bootstrap paradox” is? Im genuinely interested
@Adam Gould so isn't technically the "which came first, the chicken or th egg" thought riddle, a bootstrap paradox?
"Because I gave it to her," explains love in the most perfect way. It's almost the best scene I've ever watched to describe love

Existentialism. This movie is absolutely one of the best depictions of existentialism I've ever experienced. It also ties all the themes you talked about that we find so sacred as humans into its harrowing main theme... y'know... Existentialism.
Yeah, Cooper should have been there for his daughter at the end. I kinda agree with your point. but even she knew and he also knew that relatively speaking, they weren't on the same path. Imagine it. Yes, it's emotional, but she came to terms with how her father disappeared a lifetime ago. He hasn't even begun to accept that it's been more a couple years since he left Earth. Now suddenly they meet and they know each other but they may as well be strangers. That's the fucked up thing about time dilation.
I also believe Cooper is so deep in trauma that he hasn't even begun to unpack that he can't begin to reconcile it so soon after everything he's just been through. Again, from his relative perspective, that's all a bunch of traumatic things happening within only a few weeks at most. He's in shock. Even when he knows what's going on, because he's smart af, even when he's looking at his daughter who he knows is now much, much older than him. I don't know if his brain really processes it all in that moment.
I imagine Murph has had the time that Cooper hasn't to recognize that. That's why she tells him what to do. Because she understands what's likely the best thing for her father to find some peace and work through his new reality.
Amazing. I fucking love this movie.
I cry...i just cry. So underrated and beautiful.
The fact that is future Humans who build this is crazy, makes me emotional everytime.
Just watched for the first time last night, beautifully written. Loved it.
Have you ever thought to yourself that you had so much love for someone and felt that you had a connection with them but maybe they didn’t feel the same. It’s not the same as the film but just a thought. The music makes it that much more intense
Yes and its the most haunting thought
@@twstdlzard9659 I 100% agree
U don't understand how true that is @Twiz i thought i had a connection but she didnt feel the same
I think I kind of know what you mean. Do you mind explaining and or implying what you're trying to get at here comparing to the movie. I just want to be sure (:
My favorite movie of all time . I hope they figure out a script where cooper makes it to brand and saves her
you got to realize that he is traveling at the speed of light, and thus he has access to every instance in time
Speed of light is still a defined value. It doesn't get magically beamed from the source to your eyes. It still takes minutes to get from the sun to earth. Just because you're travelling at light speed, doesn't mean time freezes.
The hauntingly beautiful visuals of string manipulation. A nod to string theory and also a nod to the celestial. Maybe there is something beyond the void where our loved ones help and guide us? A dimensional aspect to the guardian angel premise. A fantastic film
Just cried... again. Years later.
Basically the plot of 999, but the difference is that the game uses the theory of Quantum Mechanics and made that "you change the past in the present", sending current information to the receiver (someone you're bound to) and making a change in history
Seeing someone reference Zero Escape in a random video is absolutely wild, but yeah pretty much actually? Never thought of it that way
@@CrashinBottlez yeahh even I figured it was very random, but it's interesting to think of it
Murph: dad the book falls I think there is a ghost
Dad: im your ghost, murph ;)
I just got done watching interstellar last night, tbh my reaction I was so overwhelmed when cooper went into the black hole and tried communicating with his self trying to stop himself from going on the mission, I genuinely was so shocked I started almost screaming, but then I realized my parents were asleep so I just clapped a bunch of times and I called it without even knowing that was going to be what would happen I was happy, sad, heartbroken so many emotions how have I not seen this movie sooner?
It's really interesting how TARS asks the questions to Cooper. The questions TARS said were: "For what Cooper?", "How Cooper?", "What are we here to do?", "Cooper, what if she never came back for it?", and "How do you know?". Usually, we humans ask the questions to the AI (Artificial Intelligence) for answers. I mean, sure, this isn't the first time I've heard a robot/AI asking the questions. For example, Jarvis from the Iron Man films, I've heard before. But hearing TARS talking, sounds like an actual human being. And I know, I'm not stupid, this is a movie after all, it requires heavy editing for visuals and sound. But just imagine if AI could speak like this in a convincing manner.
So it means that TARS was actually evolving. From robotic AI to an AI with more human like emotions?

This movie is so incredible. I just realized that when he’s asked how he knows his reply is “because I gave it to her.”
Then later when his daughter is asked how she knew, she says “because my dad promised me.”
I never connected that until seeing this scene just now after seeing the movie a couple times.
Can you please explain yourself? Please reply to me!
Even though matthew McConaughey is amazing in this movie
I think that topher grace did a good job as a side character and also anne Hathaway
Topher Grace? He hardly had any scenes? Said almost nothing
I love Interstellar and it became my favorite movie of all time when I first watched it in theaters especially the part where Cooper enters the Blackhole my heart was pounding at the point that Cooper isn't going to make it but then enters the memory lane of Murph which was a surprise even changing the future by communicating the watch that he gave her was the key to saving the world and after he sees it successful the being is closing in and I was immediately scared or something that it'll erase him and from that point on he went into the future. Even the music was the best by Mr. Zimmer and I used the song in a 2001 A Space Oddessy ending that fits perfectly with the suspension and surprise it awaits further.
"because I gave it to her"
I have recurring nightmares that are like this. I scream myself awake.
Murph: Stay. It say STAY dad!

Cooper was 124 years old at the end of the movie, so he too must have known John Coffey before he walked the green mile.

So what’s the moral of this movie?? That love is the most powerful connection?? Because the connection between Murph and cooper was the answer no matter how far apart they were
