in one of his interviews Nool told the story how the Fila company called him after the discus throw and said: "Well done! Now the whole world sees your footwear!"

I like his attitude. There are just as many Bronze medalists as Gold medalists. It is an elite club. Don´t hate on someone because they did not win Gold. If they gave it their very best, and only they can truly answer that, then congratulations to them.

If I was an Olympian, I would be proud to get bronze, because that means that at that time I am one of the three best competitors in that an event in the world.

I’m fairly sure there are slightly more bronze medalists because boxers don’t have a bronze medal fight and both get a bronze. Still amazing though

This Chris Huffins is extremely sympathic and Erki Nool was a great Champion as well

See how proud he is to get Bronze. Class that.

Generally people are happier to get a bronze than if they got a silver, because they are happy to even get a medal, whereas a silver, they think they could of been gold.

The latter is especially true at events where there's a final between two people. If you get silver there you lose the golden match while if you get bronze you win the last match.

    • @SilentHotdog28

Exactly, you feel like you're going out on a loss in those events if you get silver, whereas you're going out on a win if you win the bronze medal match.

I remember there was no one in math class at the time Erki was running...We were all watching the TV in the teachers rooms screaming. Good times!

I remember I was in kindergarten when we heard on the radio that Erki won :D At the time I was too young to know the importance of what he'd achieved. Although a person's accopmlishment shouldn't make another person proud, I'm happy he represented our people.

Great lessons presented here for athletes... your weakness can always be a strength given the opportunity. Your mind is always a strength.

Another wonderful video from the Best Olympic Games ever! Would you upload also extracts from films of the following Games, like Salt Lake 2002, Beijing 2008 or Vancouver 2010 in the future? Thanks.

About the discus: You don't change the rules in the middle of the game. If you raise the white flag, then that counts, even if your wrong. You are the judge and you make your decision once. If you change your mind like a school girl then you are not very credible as a judge. And I have a feeling that judges just raised the red flag because czechs started yelling there. Judge shouldn't be influenced by other competitors and shoud have his own viewpoint. Nool deserved to win. btw in one of his interviews he told the story how the Nike company called him and said: "Well done! Now the whole world sees your footwear"

    • @KuriVaiM
      @KuriVaiM 10 років тому

Yes sir, second flag do not count only the first, these have to be trained judges right - there is no room for second opinion or outside influence
As Estonian myself Erki Nool will be our most successful athlete of this century for long time

He left sector before disk felt down. His coach was powerful in backstage. He has just lucky, that it was messured after red flag.

No Mrcain! You are wrong, he is Bronze medalist in the Olympics, so he can say whatever he wants and it will be right!

Erki Nool's third throw was a foul. The sole of his right shue touched the top of the metal ring around the cement circle (10:30). That is a foul.

Why is the story centred around an American athlete. Is the Olympics channel only for US?
