He did, but you don’t have to. They make brackets that look identical to the factory speakers, which new speakers can be mounted on. This removes the need for drilling, and is better because it also has the effect of moving the speaker closer to the interior door panel, which likely improves sound by channeling more sound out the grill rather than behind the interior panel. It also means the magnet has less chance of stopping the window from rolling all the way down if you install a more powerful speaker with a large magnet. Not to mention, it eliminates the gap between the speaker and the metal, seen at the top of the speaker at 4:34, which could effect bass performance. So basically, don’t do what this guy did, don’t drill your door! Buying the bracket is worth it.
A new hole won’t directly cause any problems, but it is more convenient to mount the new speakers with the same holes. Also, you may get a better seal with the bracket because it isn’t metal on metal, which improves the bass. Also, I had a family member who needed a stereo upgrade and wouldn’t allow me to drill new holes in their door, so I used the brackets. Lastly, the brackets make the speakers closer to the interior door panel, which both improves sound, and allows speakers with larger magnets to be installed without the magnet blocking the window from opening fully.
Also, at 4:34, did you notice, at the top of the speaker, there is a gap between the speaker and the metal in behind it? That may or may not effect the bass performance. I certainly wouldn’t do that with any speaker, even if it were concealed behind a panel that rarely ever got removed.
What size are those speakers
He says it in the video lol
couldve purchased 4 brackets on amazon for $16 plug & play.did my sons was so clean

Hi mr, do you have the link of those brackets? That would be nice. Thanks !
I don't sorry
What’s the size of the speakers?
I believe 6 1/2
@@nestorautorepair it is 6 1/2 most Honda’s use 6 1/2 or 6x9 sometimes on the back. But I’ve found 6 1/2 are better for most Honda’s.
Thanks for sharing boss
Did you had to drill holes to the door?
Yes the screw will make the holes

drill holes in good spirits, completely useless refinement of such brackets if you are not going to audio competitions...
You do know, they make brackets so you don’t have to drill holes in your door.
Ok
what do those holes harm?
