With lots of older games the speed is tied to frame rate, so there's a good chance it's meant to be played at 30 fps and you're doubling shrek's immeasurable power at 60 fps. I highly recommend setting the videos playback speed at 50%, it makes everything about the game look and sound almost normal, but turns Kevin into a blathering drunk. I've been thinking about making a playlist of kevin videos that go over 30 minutes, just for myself, so I'm really happy that when I do it it'll have a lot of content~
According to 3:56, even at the end of the game, Kevin is still considered a "newbie" as he is still "looking for hearts in a panic" and "humored by burps" 😂
My parents got me this game for Christmas instead of Pokemon. I quit during the tutorial because I thought the game was unplayable so hats off to you and I hope you have a speedy recovery after enduring this
Really digging these longer playthroughs, you sound a lot more involved in what's going on on-screen which makes it a lot more fun too, hope you're enjoying doing it this way too 👍!
Fun fact, Todd McFarlene (the man who made Spawn and Venom) did character designs for this game. I'm not kidding. Also, according to the credits, this game was developed in "10 Lucky Months", which I feel like explains a lot.
At first I thought I had already watched Kevin play this game, only to find out that I actually watched scykoh's gameplay, and Kevin using his video as a guide near the end brings me joy :)
MIGHT be my first youtube comment ever, but wanted to say all your extra effort in your videos is noticeable AND appreciated Kevo. You're hands down a quality creator and entertainer sir. These longer videos are fantastic.
I love the return of the skits, and the shopping stream gavel making an appearance 😂 I had also always wondered what Shrek and the gang got up to between the first and second movies. I still don't know but it was a shrektastic video nonetheless.
There's also a short film called Shrek 3D that takes place between the first and second movie about Shrek and Fionas honeymoon. It's also a fever dream and worth the 30ish minute wat h
This is absolutely amazing. This was the first game I ever played on my gamecube when I was like 6 years old. I still come back to this game from time to time just to be stupid (especially in Mother Goose Land) However it is different than this version: real story progression, less glitchy, better graphics, more levels etc. This feels like a beta version of the gamecube version honestly and it's hard to picture this as being a real released game in comparison to the one I grew up with. Seeing Kevin getting stuck in some of the same places I did as a kid just made my day. In the Crown Prince's Castle you can get yourself out the window where you free the prisoners by bouncing off the walls. In the GC version it dropped you in a secret room where you were inside of your console. I'd love to know if that's possible in the xbox version. I would highly recommend going through this game again on the game cube if you can for a far better experience. I have completed that version several times with twice the content. Finding all hidden eggs and fairies is tricky but not impossible. It pains me though that you also did not get stuck looking for the fire pit in the tutorial. MEET ME IN THE FIRE PIT is something my family still shouts to each other 20 years later.
This game looks like a nightmare. Thank you Kevin for sacrificing your sanity for our enjoyment. And for our own loss of sanity. Edit: 'The World Revolving' in the background of the final boss really makes how insane this game is making everyone by sheer exposure.
I used to play this on the gamecube. These sounds of the burping and players and the map thing bring me back to my life’s earliest memories of around 20 years ago. It’s hard to comprehend how fast time has flown especially when you spend your life having fun.. via video games. Also, i just learned that the gamecube version is an altered storyline with different levels. It was reworked for the gamecube and called “Shrek: Extra Large” and was released on the gamecube in 2002. My mind is blown at learning this. No wonder i recognize the sounds and characters but don’t recognize any of these levels lol
I love the memories of nostalgia that Kevin is doing with this series it makes me feel happy to see others knowing how gaming was in 2000s and before. Thank you Kevin ❤️ P.s *Belch*
This is the Shrek I remember playing; it's like a fever dream made manifest. These voicelines had been seared into my poor brain and hearing them again is returning me to my 10 year old frightened self
I love not only the long videos, but I especially love the skit done for this one and the twist of him and the judge being the same 😂 had me laughing so hard. I love when Kevin gets creative like this :) /gen
Kevin, starting out, sarcastically: "I can't wait for a few hours from now, when I master jumping in this game" Kevin, a few hours later, sincerely: "I'm getting so good at parkour, I'm thinking about making a mlg compilation video of my best moves"
Loving the long format videos lately. You're one of the very select few people I can watch day in and day out without needing a break from your content, even find myself rewatching your older videos constantly. Wishing good tidings to you and yours for many years to come.
I absolutely love the longer videos. I watch them while doing something else too, like having dinner or playing video games myself, and it feels like having a friend 😅
Wow, that's -- that's a glitchfest. One of those games you can hold up and say "THIS was rushed to consoles to cash in on a hit movie." Poor Kevin -- I'm sure Jim will be along to pick you up out of the padded room in no time!
I feel bad for Kevin because he played this game, but I REALLY feel bad for his editor having to watch the uncut version of him spamming the gas buttons CONSTANTLY.
The idea that I can watch Kevin playing for almost an hour is awesome❤ keep up with these long form videos, I love watching them after a long day of work.
This game was my childhood thank you for burning it down Kevin! Everything is safe in your hands 👍 Also my sisters and I were able to finish it but to this day we are still coming to terms with the hell we had to endure in our journey with Shrek.
buuuuuurrrrrp! These long videos have been the best. Hope your sanity is intact, if it ever was. I really like the echo voice thing you do. The court sketch was great, super funny too!

I know the Bee Movie game is a thing but after watching Kevin's Media Streams with Dr Bees makes an appearance every so often. They really gotta do a Bee Movie 2 with Dr Bees as the main protagonist. 🤣🤣🤣
I like how most of the voice clips sound like placeholder clips that they ended up using anyways. Plus this was clearly made before the movie and they were only told "there's shrek" and "there's fairy tale stuff" and made it up as they went along
I remember playing the GameCube port of this game (Shrek Extra Large), which was slightly better. Also, if you fell out of bounds, you'd find yourself in a room that looked like the inside of a GameCube. Also also, Todd McFarland made characters for this game.
I remember playing this game as a kid and Humpty Dumpty absolutely terrified me for some reason. I know I never beat the game but your play through brought back so many memories!
Shrevin: We've not even seen any other character from Shrek so far. The Magic Mirror, who guided them through the tutorial: Am I a joke to you? Everyone watching the video: Yes.
Oh my god. This video has unlocked a core childhood memory: this was literally my first videogame. It was the only game my uncle would let me play on his Xbox, that he kept in his room, which i was hardly ever in. So i probably played it a total of twice for like an hour. And for a 5-6 year old, it was, agreeably, hard as shit. It made me think I was just young, and maybe as an adult I would be smarter and better at life so i would udnerstand how to play videogames the right way. And the unrelatedness to the movie completely blindsided me, and I've only thought my memories of this game were like a fever dream or something ever since. But oh my god. It's real. This feels horrible. Why have you done this to me Kevin
Just wanted to say thank you for your videos. My bunny passed away almost three months ago, and I’m still terribly grieving. But your videos were the first thing to make me laugh and try to be happy again, even for a little while. I really appreciate everything you do. 💖

I've been thinking about making a playlist of kevin videos that go over 30 minutes, just for myself, so I'm really happy that when I do it it'll have a lot of content~
I’ve never heard Kevin sound so genuinely broken as this haha 28:52
I swear I can actively feel my brain slowly oozing out of my left ear as I watch Kevin playing the game...
Looks like we got a leak over here
* puts up caution ⚠️ wet sign*
The final nail in the overwhelmingly well-nailed coffin of Kevin's sanity.
“Is it gas time? Yeah it’s gas time.” Another masterpiece in the chronicle of Kevin
drop me, please is going with float like a bee sting like a bee
"is it gas time?" "Yeah it's gas time"
Americans discovering middle Eastern countries
@@cardboardking577 🤣🤣🤣
According to 3:56, even at the end of the game, Kevin is still considered a "newbie" as he is still "looking for hearts in a panic" and "humored by burps" 😂
My parents got me this game for Christmas instead of Pokemon. I quit during the tutorial because I thought the game was unplayable so hats off to you and I hope you have a speedy recovery after enduring this
Hey Kevin, I have completed this game back during the Gamecube era. I too spent more time belching and punching people than playing the objectives.
Props to the editors and Kevin to give us those bangers longer videos. They helped me relax after work.
Scykoh and Callmekevin, the cross-over I never expected lmao
the comment i was searching for :D
I felt the same way when he kept referring to Big Joel's essay about Shark Tale in another video
The crossover we all needed
@@anaionescu8913 Same! Big Joel is great and good.
I thought he retired tbh
Dude I love this community, honestly the least hateful nontoxic community online I've ever seen in one place💗
MIGHT be my first youtube comment ever, but wanted to say all your extra effort in your videos is noticeable AND appreciated Kevo. You're hands down a quality creator and entertainer sir. These longer videos are fantastic.
28:06 yep your absolutely right Kevin: A little bit of a leak herrrrrre
I love the return of the skits, and the shopping stream gavel making an appearance 😂
I had also always wondered what Shrek and the gang got up to between the first and second movies.
Pure Chaos
Thank you Kevin ❤️
P.s *Belch*
27:00 when Kevin is talking about the voices the subtitles say, "this voice is Jesus." Lmao. That's gold.
This is the Shrek I remember playing; it's like a fever dream made manifest. These voicelines had been seared into my poor brain and hearing them again is returning me to my 10 year old frightened self
“Take this, booger-face!”
I love not only the long videos, but I especially love the skit done for this one and the twist of him and the judge being the same 😂 had me laughing so hard. I love when Kevin gets creative like this :) /gen
Scykoh is one of my favourite content creators and seeing him get some love is always great!
Kevin, starting out, sarcastically: "I can't wait for a few hours from now, when I master jumping in this game"
Kevin, a few hours later, sincerely: "I'm getting so good at parkour, I'm thinking about making a mlg compilation video of my best moves"
Kevin is probably the one UA-camr whom we can watch for an hour and a half upload
This was 40 minutes..
@@stevenclark1662 Oh? So you don't watch the video three times in a row?
looks at Kevin's sanity. "A little bit of a leak here"
Scykoh was not someone I was expected to ever see on this channel in any capacity but seeing him show up here was a pleasant surprise!
Therapist: No, you can't get secondhand insanity from watching a video about a game.
Me: A lot of work can be done here.
Kevin's playing 42 minutes of Shrek this is amazing I don't know if I could ask for anymore he's been spoiling us with all the long plays!
This feels like a game that the developer had already put work into and then reskinned a couple items for when they got the order for a Shrek game.
Loving these hour long "short" videos. Keep it up!
Ah yes, a glorious 42 minutes of Kevin playing a game that also ruined my childhood sanity. Fantastic, thanks, Kevin!
32:49
That's some legit Irish Cat'lic rage there
Nothing makes me happier than seeing a new 40 minute Shrek Gameplay video from my favourite UA-camr CallMeKevin
I gotta add this comment, 17:50 kills me everytime i watch this. Kevin's "fecking good" had me laughing so hard i woke my cat up from his nap
The idea that I can watch Kevin playing for almost an hour is awesome❤ keep up with these long form videos, I love watching them after a long day of work.
As the video progresses you can almost hear his sanity shattering.
I now know why the entire town would gather to witness a tar and feathering in the middle age, this is incredibly entertaining
This game was my childhood thank you for burning it down Kevin! Everything is safe in your hands 👍
Also my sisters and I were able to finish it but to this day we are still coming to terms with the hell we had to endure in our journey with Shrek.
Yesss, 42 mins of shrek chaos. My night just got better. Thank you Kevin!!🥰
shraos for short
buuuuuurrrrrp! These long videos have been the best. Hope your sanity is intact, if it ever was. I really like the echo voice thing you do. The court sketch was great, super funny too!
Kevin in first 5 seconds: I am a victim.
Also Kevin in first 5 seconds: "Defendant"
mad props to the editor's for the faint "World Revolving" while Kevin fights Merlin
Really loving the longer videos, Kevin. Thanks for taking the time to do them
"Drop me, please" so calm it's funny
Kevin is actually able to pull out people's inner strengths and abilities. Because I'm feeling like I re-discovered my empathy. Because I'm beginning to feel depressed watching Kevin have to play this game... jesus christ... poor kevin :(
Publisher: We need a Shrek game
Dev: Okay cool! How long do we have?
Publisher: Well we want to start Shrek 2 next Wednesday so by next Tuesday.
Dev: ...it's Friday, Sir.
Publisher: Great, so if you work through the weekend you'll have plenty of time!
Dev: *Bashes face on keyboard*
Publisher: Perfect!
cinematic masterpiece; did not expect that twist ending 10/10
Honestly was super hyped to see you play this! My brother and I beat the game together as kids (also I still have it for the Xbox original lol) but the little candy demons unlocked a deep hatred and it explains why I'm now in therapy 20 yrs later
Day *717* of asking Kevin to ACTUALLY revisit the Bee Movie Game
Ya like Jazz?
Ya like Jazz?
I know the Bee Movie game is a thing but after watching Kevin's Media Streams with Dr Bees makes an appearance every so often. They really gotta do a Bee Movie 2 with Dr Bees as the main protagonist. 🤣🤣🤣
Ya like Jazz?
Ya like Jazz?? 😂😂😂
I like how most of the voice clips sound like placeholder clips that they ended up using anyways. Plus this was clearly made before the movie and they were only told "there's shrek" and "there's fairy tale stuff" and made it up as they went along
"fart on the witch and then punch her. You must hurry and try to use your fart intelligently" thats got me laughing so hard
"For some reason" it's ok you can just say it's because he's french
31:41 You know, i had a strange feeling this was gonna happen - for reference, Scykoh did a 100% playthrough as a April Fool's Day joke.
I really like this combination of longplay and your short comedic skits. Nice work, Kevin!
Shrevin: We've not even seen any other character from Shrek so far.
The Magic Mirror, who guided them through the tutorial: Am I a joke to you?
Everyone watching the video: Yes.
I am really loving these long playthroughs! Awesome content Kevin!!
“Little bit of a leak here” and “drop me please were my favorite lines. BELCH!
I always wanted to have this game as a kid. It looked so cool to me.
I had Superslam and Shrek 2.
Turns out I was grossly lucky.
I played Shrek 2 that game I really appreciated I was lucky too
I'm sorry for your loss. He helped me get through my mother's death with his videos.
@@Danimeows Thank you for your kindness. I’m sorry for your loss as well. I’m glad you were able to find some happiness through his videos, too.
The problem with running at the speed of light is you must live in darkness.
These longer videos are so much fun to watch. Also I think I laughed more while watching this than the anytime in the past week.
"Drop me please...
...water trickles down...
...seems there's a bit of a leak here."
I dont know why but this is the funniest video Ive seen in a long time I had to pause it so much from laughter
