Holy crap, the horror themes in this map is incredible! Easily one of my favourite maps
Most albatross maps/amvs I've seen paint him as a well-meaning, yet stern father figure to Fathom, when that's not the case in the book at all. Albatross' dialogue with Lagoon (as well as a few letters in the guide) show he was jealous of Fathom, wanting to be the only animus. And I love that this map shows it. When he snaps, he says he wants to watch Fathom die, rather than just sending a knife after him. He wanted to be sure there was no more competition. And all the parts are so well animated, especially that bit with the mantis (I love mantises)
This is genuinely the best wof map I've ever seen, major kudos to all the animators!!

I love this so much! everyone did Great! It certainly gave me creepy vibes throughout the whole thing which was amazing,AND The bug designs for the characters was a perfect touch to make it have that Halloween feeling.

In my opinion, I do not think too much animus magic made Albatross crazy, I think it was just him being crazy and murderous all because of his sad past. I think he just wanted to get revenge.
And because of Lagoon, she was emotionally abusing him for what happed at Sapphire, and after years of serving her, she tells him in his face about replace him with Fathom
so i’m not the only one who likes albatross
He is a HUGE character. A lot of people love his character.
