Why should South Indians speak Hindi unless Hindi is not India’s National Language? Why North Indians shouldn’t speak South Indian Language? The thing you mentioned some of them understand and speak Hindi is good…. But no one can forcefully say you should speak Hindi.

Kerala people are nice they don't mind replying in Hindi, but trying this in Tamil Nadu (the neighbouring state of Kerala), locals will stop helping lol.. not to a foreigner of course, but for a North Indian Hindi speaker that's like asking for a trouble.😁
Either way, amazing video. Thanks for sharing your Kerala stay. Amazing state in India.

I'm a malayali and I can say in Tamil Nadu locals will definitely help if we speak Hindi. They don't mind when anyone speak in hindi. I have seen a lot of Hindi migrant workers in Tamil Nadu speaking Hindi to the locals. The locals also communicate in broken Hindi and in Tamil. It's the Hindi speaking states who gets angry if they hear we speaking our local language. If we try to speak in Tamil or malyalam to them, they will shout at us in all Hindi curse words. Even if they know I'm from Kerala. They call me saala madrasi. Especially Delhi, UP and Rajasthan. Gujarat also, even though their language is Gujarati, they hate us when we don't speak Hindi to ourselves.

How do you not put on weight or feel sluggish eating so many carbs stew? If I look at bread, white potato or dough/pastries it not only bloats me, it causes me inflammation. I love the look of it all, just wouldn't be able to have all the starchy carbs 🤷‍♀️. The fruit looks so fresh though 🙏 not so much language barrier where you are it seems meaning they understand you as speak a little English 🤗haha love the singer 😁👋lovely room stew 👍the washing place, they sure are grafters. All the food shown here tastes really good, for metabolically unhealthy people, this food can be problematic if consumed for a long time. Only people who have lived in North India, people who have served in the military, younger people who have studied hindi as a second language in school, and labour contractors who had to learn the language because of the recent influx of migrant laborers from Northern states understand Hindi in Kerala. That's why many people did not respond when you spoke Hindi. English works better than Hindi in Kerala.

Roopa or Rupees is not usually mentioned. Everyone knows that the currency is rupees. No body will ask How much U.S. Dollar this product is at a shop in USA right?. How much is enough. Likewise in Malayalam you can ask "Ethra aayi", Ethra means How much, Aayi means Happened. Literally it translates to How much happened. Or you can ask "Ithinu ethra aayi" - How much does it cost? In Hindi Kithna hogaya - How much. Iska kithna hogya means How much does it cost?
