  • Made quick video on the general process of replacing a driver side door lock. If you notice your key fob does not unlock or lock the driver side door normally, now you know how to replace it yourself. OEM Honda Part number that I used is here: 72155-SDA-A01

I jus got the part for $13. My passenger door one is bad. Gonna change it as soon as I get the part. This video is super helpful.

The only reason you were able to separate the actuator from the lock assembly is because you never put the white cover back on when he did the job the first time. Next time leave it to the pros because you probably wound up causing people to break a bunch of shit that they didn’t need to. I was not one of them, but realize that you have to remove the whole assembly in order to do the actuator.

Terrible video. There are many things you need to know before you ever make another video. Good luck.

No way should anyone expect to remove those three screws @ 4:17 as easily as shown. Those screws are driven in there very tightly. An impact Phillips screwdriver size #3 is needed. And those are JIS screws, not regular Phillips. Using regular Phillips screwdriver will likely strip the head.

This video is way too quick. There is so much that is missing. You can't just pull out the actuator @ 5:00 because it is attached by a screw to the lock/latch assembly (Acura 72152-SEA-G01). @ 5:29 - 5:30, there's a missing screw that goes into that hole in that protrusion at the top of the actuator housing. That missing screw is what attaches the actuator to the lock/latch assembly. How did you remove that screw? Why aren't you showing it?

The car is missing the black plastic cover (Acura 72179-SDA-A00) that attaches to the latch assembly and protects the two cables. That cover makes it nearly impossible to remove the actuator unit as he is showing in the video. This video is useless.
