    Great review. Every teen should be watching these vids.
    One question though; why is there so much packaging for a product that small?

    • @MorganEileen
      @MorganEileen 5 років тому +48

      Steve the package is a bit big, but it’s 100% recyclable (which helps, but smaller and recyclable would be best!)

      I can’t speak for Saalt but I do know that to be in big stores there are pretty specific things they need will request changes on. I believe this was designed with the intention of making it to shelves, which the original is now in Target.

It did take 4 tries to get it in and open, but i was prepared for that and your tips and tricks made it possible for me. No irritation at all after I was done messing with it to get it open! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

    Hi! I just want to weigh in here as a 35+yo (cough, 43, ugh!) woman who has not had kids. All the guidance says I should use the large, of basically every cup, and every large cup I've tried has been awful. I really was sure that the small would be way too small and that I was just some unusual shape or something, but it turns out, the small is what I needed. I have spent tons of money on different cups because sizing guidance was pushing me towards larger cups when they are physically the wrong size. I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to use one, but I think the Saalt small might be, finally, the one!

    • @PutACupInIt
      @PutACupInIt  4 роки тому +8

      We try to take several factors into consideration when helping people choose a cup. You are so right that age is not really the best indicator for size. We often see brands make a suggestion based solely on age or light vs heavy flow but they are both limiting. That said, a better explanation wouldn’t fit on a box very well so I suppose we understand needing to start somewhere 🤷‍♀️

    I took the PACII quiz and got this cup as one of the recommendations. I ordered it a few days ago thinking my period would happen next week but I think it’s gonna start tomorrow 😭 I’m so excited to use this, even though I am a newbie to cups I got this one because I do have a lot of pain down there during my cycle and was scared of cups that are too firm. The Ruby cup is another one that I am quite interested in. If I fail with this one, that’s my next purchase but hopefully it all does well.

I have no cramps at all now , and it helped with bladder pressure . I’ve been using a menstrual cup for about a half a year now. I only have Walmart in my town and last year the Diva Cup hit the shelves. Was the only cup and still is the only cup option available at my Walmart store right now. I’ve loved it so far but I do think it’s time for me to have a softer cup. The Diva Cup, as you probably know, is very firm.

    Since the last period, I finally started to "in-depth" study the menstrual cup by almost watching all clips posted by Kim and Amanda, many other uploaders'/manufactorers' menstrual cup review/demo videos, and reading paper about menstrual cup risks. Fortunately, I found no paper says that menstrual cup causes endometriosis in PubMed, or say it is a field that needs studying (or this does not make any sense at all)? Medical research is not my field. It almost became my new "hobby" to watch menstrual cup reviews every day... that I had to stop UA-cam pushing menstrual cup videos to me at some point.
    I have ordered a Saalt cup on Black Friday and was checking the shipping status day by day. Finally, it arrived today!!! So exicted, and feeling weird to say that I am so looking forward to my next period, lol....

      I bought in to it, and I'm not happy with it. $40 down the drain for me anyway. It's very hard to move it around cuz you can't pull on the steam to adjust it if you need to. Granted I'm still finding my Goldie locks cup and having trouble with mine 4 months later but I feel it's a gimmick but may be good for people that can just pop it in and go. The most difficult part was finding a cup that can suit my bladder sensitivity, my tilted uterus and a low cervix. I've been looking for weeks and I just think I finally found the cup for me. When it arrives I Will let you know. Greetings from Italy and thank you very much

    i just got my saalt soft today in the regular size, because i had a diva cup in a size 0 and it was way too stiff for me, and filled up so quickly, but it was suggested because i’m 16. in inserting my saalt cup, the 7 fold worked a lot better than the punch fold, and my body just accepted it!!! so excited!!!

    Hey girls, amaizing work! Anyway I purchased my first cup right before my last period and it's the Italian brand "farmacup" in small. I have a problem. It doesn't always open so I always have to check and often take it out and try again to put it in several times until I get it right and it finally opens/opens all the way. Could you explain to me what could be the reason why this happens to me? Other than that I find using a cup so convenient and comfy!!

    Thank you so much for this amazing resource, it's absolutely invaluable!
    I had a diva cup many years ago, which worked fine, but wasn't so amazing that I ever got around to replacing it after I lost it in a house fire. I've been meaning to try out a cup again, so when I stumbled across PACII and took the quiz, I thought why not?
    Well, I tried out the recommended Saalt Soft large on my last period, and it was so great! It didn't press on my bladder or induce any cramping, which I remember being a bit of an issue with the diva cup. It was soft enough that it was easy to fold down quite small for insertion, which I was glad of because the large looked massive compared to what I remembered of my old size small diva cup. The rim had enough strength that it was pretty easy to get it to open up with a quick 'twirl' - and I could grip it well enough to do that manoeuvre even after trimming off the stem. I didn't leak once. Just overall a massive win.
    If I get a second cup, I might try something just a tiny bit shorter for the first day - I checked the comparison chart, and the Lena Sensitive looks like it might be a winner.
    Thanks again for everything you're doing.

    Quick question: I am trying to decide between the Saalt Soft cup and the Tampax for my first cup. I have a high cervix with severe cramping during my period, that's why I first decided on the Saalt one. But, now with so many positive reviews and it's affordability/availability, I am tempted by the Tampax. 🤷‍♀️ Which one should I choose?

    • @PutACupInIt
      @PutACupInIt  4 роки тому +2

      They're both great cups, the Tampax is entirely different in that the rim is super wide but this was a design based on their own extensive research and wears great (just a little hard to remove until you get the hand of it) But neither are super long so you might want to consider a longer cup for easier reaching.

    People are always saying "soft cups are hard to open". My first cup was a Fun Cup, which is one of the softest on the market, and I had no problem opening it even though it is a more 'complicated' cup to use. It really depends on your body and finger dexterity.

Should I consider switching since I’m over “the age”? Also should I try other cups or is sticking with the one I have now since I don’t have any issues with it?

      @Opalescenttreeshark 5 років тому +1

      BSwithCas if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! If size 1 works for you, stick with that. The sizes are just general guidelines, not everyone is going to fit into them. You’d know if it was too small for you and if you love it, than my guess is it fits you :)

    • @PutACupInIt
      @PutACupInIt  5 років тому +1

      The sizing is definitely different, the small SJ is more like the regular Saalt, I'd say from memory without being able to compare the two directly that the Saalt Soft is 1 step firmer than the SJ and we worked to get it in that spot where it's not super squishy (so it opens without tons of trouble). It may need more adjusting than firmer cups but for experienced users it's not as big of an issue as 1st timers.

    I took the quiz and it recommended the saalt soft regular size. I have used once so far after having it for a year. Mine sits right on my pelvic bone (high tilted uterus) and never opens completely except the 2 days of normal flow. I can barely reach the tip to remove. First time cup user, 49 & no births. Considering getting the smaller cup in the future for the beginning & end days.

    I'm having such a hard time finding a cup that's right for me, I'm currently looking for my 3rd cup and am considering the salt soft. I can't do the firm cups because they cause way too much pressure and the very soft cup I got I can't get to open a so it leaks. I don't want to waste more money on a cup that won't work for me so hopefully the 3rd cup is the charm
