my dad is a single dad and i didn’t want him having to buy me pads and tampons every month. i told him about the cup and we picked one up, so much more cost efficient!
Aww, I love this! You're an incredibly thoughtful and loving daughter 🤗
Smart girl 😊
Yes girl!! You sound like an amazing daughter!! Blessings to both of you!
Ella Katherine that’s awesome that your dad is willing to participate in your cycle choices
that’s great news!!
Best thing is i don't need to buy or stock pads in the current situation of quarantine
Say it loud for the people on the back gurl! 😂
As an extrovert I hate this time
@@cradica Mood. I have ADHD and when my brain is understimulated I get panic attacks. Most of my stimulation comes from school and generally just being out in public, so quarantine isn't going too well for me.
Lark Chase I personally hate it because I don’t get to hang out with my friends and talk about the things I watched on TV.
@@cradica That too lol
Switching to a cup has improved the way I see my period. I use to hate it and dread that time of the month but now I’m really looking forward to it. I find the cup has reduced my cramps. I finally stopped using my backup pads. I normally use a panty liner with it as I wait until my period has started before I put it in. I can’t stop talking about how amazing it is 😊
Elizabeth Boaheng same!!! I changed to cups this cycle and I didn’t cramp. I love my cup already.
Me too xxxx
Ouu..wow? It does reduce ur cramps? I just bought one cup, and i was cramping so hard I didn’t even have the energy to boil my cup and try it for the first time. But i really want to try it.. how does this cup works to clean,in public toilet when the basin is outside the cubicle btw?
Inggrid Wardani I would say to give yourself 3 months before deciding if the cup is for you or not. First cup I bough wasn’t great. It leaked all the time. My second cup is just amazing 🥰 I now know it’s because the first one was the wrong size 🙈🤣 personally it has reduced my cramping. You can keep most cups in for 12hrs depending on the brand. The one I use is one of those. On my heaviest days (days 2-4) I only have it empty it once during the day. I normally empty is before bed and in the mornings. If I need emptying when I’m out, I take a small bottled water in the cubicle with me to rinse it and then give it a proper wash when I’m back at home. But I rarely have to empty it that often that on a night out, if I empty it whilst in the shower getting ready, I’m good until I get back home 😉 I feel more knowledgable because of this yt channel. I’ve binged most of their content 🙈🤣😂
@@inggridwardani7554 you can leave it in for 4-8 hrs depending on your flow but if you need to empty it in a public toilet they suggest you take a bottle of water in to rinse it out 😊hope that helped.
I have just used my mooncup for the first time last month....made my period a breeze, now I am not stressing about my next one because I actually don't mind it anymore,my mooncup is fantastic xxxxx
Switching to a cup is what taught me why I found tampons so difficult, I switched from pads to tampons on my third period because rim a dancer and couldn’t deal with the pads being visible under leotards, and I always found inserting tampons difficult and uncomfortable when I started using my cup about 6 months ago I learned that the reason for this was how ridiculously low my cervix is on my period, so low it even sits inside my organicup mini, and when inserting tampons I was hitting it 😱 which I think also explains my panic attack inducing cramps through highschool and the start of college
Needless to say I’ll never go back 😂
Hey.. I think I might have the same problem with tampons. I find them EXTREMELY difficult to insert all the way and I've started thinking it's because of a really low cervix. How did you confirm this and do you have any advice for using the cup? I really wanna make the switch but Ive like traumatised myself with all the times I've tried to put in a tampon :(
@@brh.1892 put a cup in it has a really detailed video on finding your cervix and how you know how high/low it is
@@brh.1892 as for using the cup you just have to figure out the best insertion method for yourself, fold, position etc trial and error until you find out what works best
i dont know if i have a low cervix bt when i tried to insert it there ws a thick tissue which made me unable to insert the cup pls suggest me i wasnt even able to put one finger inside
@Br H.
I made the switch my last cycle. What made me finally pull the trigger is this current global health crisis! I thought to myself, "what if the supply chain is down? And just like there are no more to, there will be no more pads or tampons?!!!!" Lol At least I will have the cup for a long time. I looooooove diva cup! It is life changing. I got it on my first time. And I brought another one!!
Lol, that was the trigger to me too. I've been thinking of this about two years ago. 🤭 All I thought was. What if people goes crazy and buys all the pads and tampons available. What if they start pricing them two three, ten times what they cost now?????
So that was it. And I am so happy I did got my cups. The first one wasn't perfect, so I bought a second one.
Hello👋🏻 I’m from the future where there is a tampon shortage 🙋🏻♀️
Not being reminded about being on my period every single time I use the bathroom. And that 🤢 smell of pads. They stink!
Now after ayear of using a cup. No smell, no waist (have no idea if that is spelled correctly) and no hastle with pads or tampons.. to be short in words. I LOVE IT!
Waste lol. Hopefully my cup experience goes well, fingers crossed!
Yeah just my words. And no wet icky feeling of pads
LITTLE TO NO CRAMPS
I am 48 and only heard of a menstrual cup last year. I have been using one since then and love it. I wish I had known a long time ago. I tell everyone about it.
yes!
Living in a pandemia world and not having to worry about menstrual products is just amazing
I was hesitant for quite while to try it. But it changed my life and i regret that i haven't switched sooner
Omg, this video is going to be so helpful for me. Today, because of this video and other things, I'm going to ask my mom for a menstrual cup. I'm only 13, but I've educated myself for a very long time now, and I'm ready. Very nervous, but ready. So, thank you. ♡
Edit: Ok, so I just asked her (I got too nervous the other day) and I'm pretty sure I'm getting one soon! It went really well and I'm really happy and excited!
Good luck! Just remember to be kind to yourself on the learning journey. There are many great teen sized cups available: instagram.com/p/B7mBF88ggIF/
Your so Lucky I had to sneak to the shops and go to self check out and buy one with the money I was collecting for ages and with that money I was meant to be buying sweets and normal 13-year-old things
@@sarah.writer aww, I'm sorry you had to do that. My mom doesn't even let me go out on my own, and with Coronavirus, that isn't happening right now lol.
Definitely be patient with yourself. I bought my cup at 14 and was super enthusiastic, but I just couldn’t get it in. (That being said, it wasn’t a teen cup, I don’t think those were available at the time). Now I’m 19 and have finally used my cup for two cycles now and I love it!
@@jmkinney2019 If I'm getting a teen cup , it'll likely be the organicup for teens. I took the menstrual cup quiz, and got lunette, saalt, etc. Cups like those. It sounds stupid, but I'm a little worried the organicup for teens would be too small. I know I probably sound like an idiot. Do you think the Lunette model 1 is too big, because I don't. It probably is, and the organicup for teens is fine and I'm stupid. Sorry, I'm just wondering.
Ok, I’m so happy so I’m gonna rant:
I JUST PUT A MENSTRAL CUP IN FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!!
I hope I did it right, but I know there’s a learning curve. It didn’t take nearly as long as I thought! I ended up using the 7 fold, and it worked out pretty well!! This channel helped me out a lot! ❤️
Yes! Definitely life changing. I wish I had known about cups 15 years sooner. I haven’t had a single cramp since I started using 7 or so years ago.
I really need to just buy one and try lol, I keep hearing so many good things :D
I have been feeling bad for girls for 30 years ever since I witnessed my mother having to deal with feminine care on a road trip where she couldn't get to a bathroom when she needed to. I get the impression that changing disposable protection is a lot to do, and I gather that the cup would be easier because you don't have to worry about having enough stuff and it lasts 12 hours before you have to take care of it.
jeopardy60611 yeah it was definitely a hassle before. The cup can last up to 12 hrs though. Some of us who have heavier days will have to empty within 3-4 hrs, but still better than every hr
@@valerieann_ Yes! And simpler! Bring a roll of toilet paper and a bottle of water on the road trip, then when it's time you just need to find a place to dump it, wipe the cup off or rinse it, stick it back in, and you're ready to go! No where near as much waste and mess.
May still need the ibuprofen, or whatever works best for you, but the cup is a total game changer!!
@@vj6090 wipes are better for me then toilet paper. My hands can get bloody and toilet seat too
During this Coronavirus Crisis , I'd say menstrual cups and reusable cloth pads are essential. Because it's not like running out to the store atm is easy.
I switched to a cup about 4 months ago! I work in a hospital and was having a difficult time every month trying to get to the rest room as often as needed during work hours! I saw a video on Raw Beauty Kristi’s UA-cam channel and I am so happy I saw it! I did some research and ordered the Saalt cup just a couple weeks after watching her video! It has made my life so much easier! Hands down best decision to switch!
I switched to a menstrual cup after researching them for the past few months. I bought mine last week and used it for my cycle, and I'm pleased to say I think I nailed it the first time because I had no discomfort, no leaks, and it collected everything. I forgot I was wearing it half the time. I feel so much better about my cycle now that I have one. I hate pads, and I hate tampons but I have been using tampons since I was around 16 because I really hated pads and now I don't ever have to use either again! I wish I had done the switch sooner but I'm glad I researched and watched so many of PACII and other channels videos about them because I didn't experience much of the learning curve like I hear other people doing. Love it, if you haven't switched yet, do it! You'll love it too!
I got my cup this week. I impulsively ordered it the day that I heard about cups from a youtube I'm subscribed to.
I've been using cloth pads for years. Last summer, I had a miscarriage, and I found changing the pads was always the most painful part. That was my baby on the pads... And then every period after was so incredibly triggering - using and cleaning the pads - I bought a cup. That was the reason I switched - and I'd never heard this reason for switching anywhere else, so I'm not sure if that's normal. It wasn't a super scary switch for me, because I have family members who use them and am comfortable with my body, but it makes every period easier. I'm so thankful it was an option.
Wow, thank you for this comment. You are very strong! Keep being awesome.
I'm so sorry. But you've literally been SO strong sharing your story! Stay strong.
I didn’t know you could put the cup in before starting! My period starts at such an odd time so knowing this I’m glad I can put the cup in the morning of my period even though I won’t start until late afternoon.
Thanks Kim! I can't believe that it's been a year since PACII convinced me to switch to a cup. I'm never going back to napkins 😊
I switched to a cup my last cycle,I’ve been considering it for years, but everyone said it was too expensive....for 1 cup that can last a while. I guess they thought it was disposable, not reusable.
I watched ur channel when i was researching on menstural cup. I have now switch to menstural cup and i am happy that i took that decision. :)
"Saves a lot of mental space" -- this is *so* relatable. My period has always given me intense anxiety (fear of leaking, fear of needing to change on time, fear of being able to change on time in case I'm not near a bathroom, etc.). I just purchased my first menstrual cups (Saalt soft) and I'm so excited to try them out next cycle. I'm so tired of the anxiety surrounding my period (not to mention the cost), so I'm hoping it will go well for me! Thank you, Put A Cup In It -- this is such a life changing/empowering message you are sharing and so so so important.
I’ve had an IUD for the last two years, which has led to me not having a period anymore. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced some side effects from the IUD but have put off getting it removed because the thought of having to deal with tampons/ pads again just makes me freaking sick. Lol
For the last few weeks I’ve been researching cups and I’ve decided that this will be the best option for me! I’ve made an appointment to remove the IUD and for the first time EVER, I’m actually kinda excited to get my period! ☺️ Thank you PACII!
I gifted a cup to my sister just a couple months after I first used one because I love it so much.
There are so many reasons to switch to cup! Less waste, less money and less toxic! Buying lily compact was the best decision I ever made!
I don't know if I found my perfect cup on my first try or what but I learned how to use it on my first period. I had one small "leak" (spotting) and that was it. I love using a cup. I wish I had them all even though I really love my Organicup. And I wish I knew about cups 10 years ago. 😁
I used mine for my cycle last week for the first time, like you I pretty much nailed it first time, I had to cut all the stem off,I did pinch myself a few times lol,I had one small spotting but that was my fault,I left it too long on my heaviest day, other than that it was fantastic...I'm actually looking forward to my next cycle instead of dreading it lol😂😂
Any tips nor advice. I got my cup in the mail but my period is not due for a while.
@@MsPink0769 I practiced inserting the cup before my period. Just to get a hold of it. And to figure out witch fold worked best for me. And on my period I kinda already knew what to do. Although it was easier to insert and remove during my period because my cervix is a little lower on the first and second day. It's easier than inserting and removing tampon, so don't worry too much, try it out. Good luck. 😊
I just switched days ago after watching almost every video of this channel... And I'm loving it! I got the Saalt Soft after measuring my cervix and taking the quiz, and I have to say that all of the information you guys share in your videos made my learning curve so easy! And for that I thank you so much! I am never using a pad again! 😂♥️
I did the quiz once and I got the Saalt cup.
Thank you so much! Now I have a video to share when folks ask me why!
I made the switch to a cup in October 2018, because I started experiencing extreme pain with tampons and disposable pads were unreliable, because my flow wouldn't stay in bounds or pad would bunch. My 1st experience with cup was liberating. Almost going through a whole work shift without worrying about major leaks. I have fewer cramps and I have lighter period flow. I truly believe I was reacting to the chemicals in disposable products and will never go back. I do occasionally have to use a pad as backup cuz I still don't have a goldilocks cup, but I invested in some reusable pads so I don't use disposables as much. Saved ton of money which is great since I am currently out of work because of COVID19.
Do it, ladies! Haven't regretted it once, I am on cycle 4 using the cup and couldn't be happier. I rarely think about it and am so happy during these times that I'm not contributing to our landfills (or having to shop for menstrual products $$). Thanks for the reminders, Kim! 👏✨
I love using cups! I have the Saalt, Lunette, and Cora all are great, and was so easy to use. I was so scared when I first thought about buying them, but these videos helped me learn a lot and let me pass the learning curve! :)
OMG! So I have been a pad/tampon user since I first began my menstrual cycle. I never had any major issues with it. It just has always been messy, a lot of trash, etc etc. I don't even remember what got me curious about the cup. I think I just was curious about it. I some extra funds and decided to buy one. (I got the Diva cup #2) I'm 33, petite, and no kids, so before the buy, I was doing some serious research about which brand and size to buy. I've watched several of your videos. Today was the first day of actually trying it, and let me just say, wow! I am amazed and I had to share my experience. Today is the 2nd day of my cycle and usually the heaviest. The learning curve wasn't as bad as I anticipated. I had a difficult time getting it in at first after trying both folds, doing it in the shower, with one leg up and on the toilet, etc. so eventually a thought came to me. why don't I just put it in as I'm laying down on my back and try to slide it in that way. So I tried doing that and MAGIC! it went in! I was initially having a hard time with the grip of the fold and trying to put it "up" at the same time. Laying down helped me relax more and put me in a better position to get the cup in while holding the fold. I didn't even have to turn mine! It went in and opened up perfectly! I felt nothing! I put it in in the morning and throughout the day, I have NO leaks! didn't have to change at all like I would have a regular tampon! I removed it sometime in the evening and It wasn't anywhere NEAR full!!! I was like whhaaaa?!!! 😂😂😂 I told my mom and she was impressed. It's still only my first day and now I'm trying to get my sis on the cup! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you so much for all this advice! I don’t know anyone that uses a cup and I had so many questions. ❤️
I switched about 3 years ago and we are now in FULL COUNTRYWIDE LOCKDOWN here in New Zealand. We can still go to the supermarket, chemist or for a walk but knowing I don't have to buy menstrual products is AMAZING for me not having to think about 😃
Oh, I made the switch in this pandemic. No tension of stocking up period products.
I just finished my first period with a cup, and I love it! I was a bit sore the first few days from multiple failed attempts to put it in, but by the end of the week I already had the hang of it :) thanks so much for the helpful info on this channel
Finally got the hang of it yesterday. NEVER GOING BACK
I'm excited to switch once I use up all of my disposables.
Start before you use up everything it might take time to get the hang of it. Didn't fully use the cup until 3 months in
I just donated all my extra disposables to a homeless shelter. Once I tried the cup I wasn't going back to tampons or pads just to use them up. Now I kinda wish I had the funds to donate a bunch of cups to the homeless shelter.
Also great when in peri menopause like me and your periods come irregularly. I love mine!
I am a dialysis worker and these long days of having to still work, I must say this has been a life and timesaver!
I start at 18, never want to use pads again. Although it's little bit tricky at the first time, now it's completely perfect. No leaking, no cramping def a life changing
Never expected to see an NCTzen here! I’m 18 too and I’m preparing to switch to cups. I hope that it’ll be THE cup for me because they’re not readily available where I live. Hopefully it goes well! I’m so excited. Can’t wait to ditch pads😂😆
I had a big learning curve with the cup. But the desire to reduce trash I put into the world kept me motivated throughout. I've successfully got the hang of using cups. There have been no leaks, I've stopped having issues with inserting and removing a cup. And after reaching this point - I am FULLY able to see what people mean when they say cup ia life changing.
I have to set alarms to empty my cup - bcs I tend to forget its inside me. It's THAT comfortable. Even on non period days woman tend to have discharge and some wetness. Now with the cup life period days are in fact the most dry and comfortable days for. It's so cost effective too ♥ a total package. Worth the struggle of the learning curve.
I’m on my second cycle using the Saalt cup and I’ve had zero leaks. I weight lift and cycle and it has stayed in place comfortably. I’m so happy to not have to buy disposable products anymore! It’s liberating to have one thing to keep up with. Life changing is 100% accurate!!
Great vid!
I'm 17 have had my cup for around a year and have finally figured out my perfect insertion method for no leaks so YES THERE IS A LEARNING CURVE
This whole thing is what got me to finally bite the bullet and buy a cup. I’ve been wanting to for so long and finally did. And I’m so happy to do so.
Just used your discount code to order menstrual discs from Lumma. Thank you!
Great video!!!
I want to make the switch soon. My main reason is the environment, but also inflation. A box of $16ct of pads or tampons where I live is almost $8 and we don’t have a sales tax here. That and the environment. Plus I’m tired of feeling gross every month. I either feel like i have sandpaper crotch or a swamp in my pants. I’m ready 🤗
I’m 15 and have had my pads/tampons, and now my cup that replaced those paid for. So I’ll likely go my entire life without personally paying for a period product aside from rebuying a cup once a decade😂
Hi nice seeing your success so young. Do you think I can buy a cup for my daugher before she gets her period or is it too young to figure it out
@@1BestCookie Yes I think it’s possible! Definitely have them watch tutorials and look at themselves with a mirror because the hardest part is knowing your own anatomy. Best of luck to them :)
10 years ago cups existed??? Wow didn't know this :) But I agree that I know my body better for sure :)
Hanna Claus they were already on the market in the 60s. But no one wanted to buy em so they went out of business
Best creation in this world.
Im on day 2 of my first time using a cup and it is so much better. Never going back, this is so convenient.
I had an issue when using it where I could still feel it so I looked it up, read a few articles and decided to just cut the stem off. It is SO comfortable and I love it! I will never go back!
Cutting the stem can work wonders
In your merch you should make a bag or carrying case for our cups. I would buy one.
We actually DO have custom stamped menstrual cup pouches for sale ;) shop.putacupinit.com and just recently launched a merch store through UA-cam with a few designs.
Definitely life changing....I just used my mooncup for the first time,I loved it...never going back to pads again.EVERY girl/woman should buy one of these.
Only thing I did not like...tmi.....I kept pinching myself getting it out,ouch...i know for next month now😊hopefully I will be better at it next month xx
It took me 3 hours to put my cup in!😂😅 It didn't help that it was thick and I'm a virgin, so it was pretty painful. But, I do like the comfort that I can't feel it in
Hi yay. Did you take quiz? You are a good person to ask. I was wondering if I can teach my girl to use a cup before she gets her period or will it be too hard for her
With a menstrual cup, I always recommend people practice while NOT menstruating...that way they have it down pad by their expected cycle
Love your channel 💕
Thanx
I love this video but am I only the only one in awe of her being in her 30’s or almost 40?! She looks like she is 20! So when she said she switched in her 20’s and it’s been 10 years, I nearly feel off my chair!
I’m 19 and just made the switch! I’ll never use a tampon again. This is my first month using it and it didn’t take much getting used to. Pretty simple.
I switched because I pass clots. It hurt so bad with a tampon. I had heard that cups help with cramps. OMG. Last night if I would have had a tampon I would have had a mess and been in so much pain with a heat pad to my stomach. So happy I tried this this cycle.
I've been using menstrual cup since 4 months now and I'm really happy I made this switch. Llife has never been this easy! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us..it's so good to have such a community out there to help.
I wanted to ask something..I've notice huge clots in my menstrual blood is it normal to have clots or should I go see a gyanecologist. Can you please make a video on this! Type of blood telling about women health.
As a trans guy, running into the tampon aisle gives me dysphoria. I like cups so far, but my saalt small keeps leaking.
Am a first time user here! Like legit on my second day rn, the cup wasmt that comfy yesterday as the stem kept poking at me. A quick trim and bam. I dont even feel it it rn and ngl i got constant anxiety tho cuz i keep checking if its in right or not and am scared i'll leak all over lmao. But i think i somehow got it rn. Hope to get over the learning curve!
Sounds like a great start! I can’t do stems either. I tried another recently and left them stem on and had to fix that real quick 😅
I can't use a cup (or... They made my already bad cramps work and it's hard because of the low cervix heavy flow issue, so the three I've tried are enough of a change for me). But I love my cloth pads so much. It's so convenient.
I just got my first cup (the Lena sensitive), today was my first day using it and I’ve had no problems! No leaks !! Even tho I’ve had it for a short time I already know I’m never going back to pads or tampons
Switching to I cup so I won’t have to make an uncomfortable makeshift toilet paper pad when my grandma does buy more pads in-tell days later.😂
I got a cup because i was sick of the leaking, waking up very early to change the tampon, dryness, and a sticky pad. Goodness, this thing changed the way i feel about my period now. I can sleep peacefully, knowing that i will not leak and i can sleep in. Changing it is satisfying too.
Hi I love your videos! I do have a question. I have a diva cup large and I can feel it. It feels like it slides down too. Any advice would be great! Thank you😊
I use the saalt cup and its amazing i am about to try the pixie cup i tried it on and its very comfortable
I am trying to get brave enough to actually make the switch. I am still using pads, but I bought some reusable pads. I will be glad when or if I can throw out my tampons and disposable pads.
Hi I watched your heavy period video a couple of years ago.
I would really appreciate if you could do an updated version.
My periods are horribly heavy and I do try to use a cup on my medium to lighter days.
I am hoping that you have newer options. To give you an idea of what I am dealing with on my first heavy day I have to empty every couple of hours and after emptying 6 times during the day, I don’t count. I am trying to avoid tampons and pads altogether and just wanted to see what is out there in 2020.
I really hope you read my comment and can do a video.
First of all you can take the quiz again I think they have a cup specifically for heavy flow
Your quiz recommended the Lunette for me but I was considering trying the Lily Cup Size A (both full size and collapsible) and the Diva Cup in size 0 (size 1 wouldn't go in) I don't know how long my cervix is. I use light and regular tampons throughout the day and overnight pads to sleep.
I’ve been using the softdiscs for about a year now and I love them however sometimes they are a bit stiff it’s worth the comfort, light packing, and ease of mind I just purchased a lumma on their buy one get one sale and I’m hopping it will ease traveling, daily carrying, and costs 🤞 next I’m hoping to try the saalt soft if anyone has any experience with any of these products I’d love to hear
I can’t definitely agree about pads being irritating. I’d always get a rash after every period, and tampons were down right painful. I’m trying the Saalt Soft Small soon.
As a first time cup user, I tried the Nixit a couple times with no success which I learned afterwards is not the best for beginners. Now I am attempting the Tampax heavy flow realzing that I should've tried the smaller size first... I don't know any women who use these so UA-cam is really my only resource... I am hoping I can get the Tampax cup to work because I got it in then panicked when I had a hard time removing it... and it leaked... but fingers crossed I can get this sorted out... I don't want to keep buying different cups and sizes because I want to save money and decrease waste, not create more.... and the Nixit was $67 for something I cannot get to work for me.... yet.... I emailed Nixit and I basically got a response that was copied from all the instructions on their website which I had already read through....
Kim:"You don't need 20 of them"
Me: But I want 20 of them and I love all of the ones I currently have... and one hundred percent expect to buy more... haha
I ordered my first one this weekend, and I am sure I will be a "collector" 😂
I think menstrual cups will be my 'expensive hobby' 😂😂😂 I wanna try them all, theyre so amzing
I went to the cup a year after starting my period because I was stressed about a camping trip landing on my period. I have never gone back.
Thanks. Do you think it is too early to buy a cup for my daugher before she gets her first period to to try it on and practice? Or should I first teach her with a pad and later teach her with a cup? Don't want her to feel so messy on her period as I felt but it takes time to figure out the cup
@@1BestCookie the cup might be a little daunting at first. Make sure she is at least comfortable putting a tampon in first so she knows where everything is. It took a couple tries for me to do it the first time, and it could be frustrating. Once she is able to use a cup though, it will be a game changer. I also recommend keeping a spare box of tampons or pads as a safety measure. They are quicker to put on/in if she is in a rush. It’s also nice to have them if she is in an area where there isn’t a proper sink, or if there are stalls since you want to rinse out the cup in a sink every time before you reinsert it. Sorry if that is a lot, good luck to you and your daughter!

Thanx for the advice
I used cup yesterday for the first time and yessss, it's actually sooo sooo comfortable. No bad smells like pads and cant feel it. I am 18 and I regret for not using it 7 years earlier 😂😂
This is so helpful! I'm trying switch to a cup, but my mom is worried about the safety and cleanliness of a cup. Does anyone know of any sources that discuss the safety of menstrual cups or any way to convince her?
If you haven't already switched just tell her about how bacteria collects and grows in a pad and tampon hence the nasty smell and higher possibility of contracting TSS (toxic shock syndrome). The cup is non porous and therefore won't harbor bacteria like tampons and pads do.
Pads are disgusting and tampons I agree are uncomfortable
How are they disgusting
@@girlhelp4447 feels icky and wet and all the blood gets back onto you
@@1BestCookie not really if you have an absorbent one it wouldn’t feel like that and and most kids use them abs there not disgusting and I agree tampons are more comfortable but I wouldn’t call people disgusting for using something else
@@1BestCookie and that’s the blood they you’re calling disgusting
@@girlhelp4447
Well I used them mostly all the time before I started with the cup and I always felt icky during my piriod. Didnt mean it as disgusting for other ppl just for yourself and the way you feel on your piriod
I start at 23
YOUR “on my period have a bad day” SWEATSHIRT IS OUT IF STOCK. stock it pls, i need it (haha)
Best thing I ever did, never going back to tampons eeeevvvvveeerrrr.
I have a question. When the cup is full, the blood flows back into the uterus? If not could you please put a video with demonstration of using the model with the blood filled cup.
I’m 16, and I want to start using a menstrual cup for financial and conveniency reasons. I was found the June cup, which was really low priced with pretty good reviews. I was wondering if anyone here has tried it and has any feedback. I’m particularly concerned about the firmness, since I’m looking for a cup that would open easily and wouldn’t give me any problems. I’ve been doing a lot of research, and I’m pretty worried that I would buy a 30 dollar cup only for it to not work, so I’m trying to start with a cheaper option. Thanks for reading this, and I appreciate any help!
I have used tampons in my younger days, but with a pad for security. Always been a pad girl. “Always” the brand I normally buy, with wings (the heaviest pad). I want to switch to a cup. I’ll binge watch these videos to see if the cup is a good fit for me.
stacysharena I hate always, they bleach their product with chlorine and shit. I am a cup user and it’s honestly the absolute best!
How often should you get a new one? I hear mixed time lines! And I’m not sure if I should get a new one!
If you want to carry it while travelling, can you sterilise it and carry and then use directly?
But the frustration of having a cup fail . Especially with so many success stories. Not happy emotions to deal with while being hormonal.
alisharo58 AHAH yes I can feel you! I was so frustrated. Later when it worked perfectly.. I was sooooo happy🤣
I made the switch about 7 years ago when I thought I was going to be a missionary/humanitarian worker going into the depths of humanitarian crises without easy access to pads and tampons.
This was at the start of my community development degree.
I didn't end up going anywhere without shops lol but I did stick with the cup and with cloth pads, because they were so much more comfortable and cost effective
I took the menstrual cup quiz and it suggested the hello cup. I wondered if there was a way to figure out what size I should get.
Madison Pollard if you are under 30 and you have never had a baby most people would need size 1/A.
Do you have the links to those two menstrual cup TSS cases?
We have an article about it here, putacupinit.com/do-menstrual-cups-cause-tss/
I switched to the cup because I constantly kept getting bartholian cysts after my period, I linked the cause to pad use and switched to the cup, haven’t had a cyst in over 2 years
I'm so glad it helped you find relief
Got a problem here: I took out my cup before shower, and put it back after shower. Unluckily, I found a little blood on my pants afterwards. Why was that? I was sure the cup was put in place.
I wonder if my explanation is correct: since during shower i had no cup inside, even if I reinsert it after shower, the blood which had flowed down during shower couldn't be held by the cup, resulting in the small amount of blood on my pants.
That is exactly what happened. Whenever I put a cup in after my period has started I have to wear a pantiliner that day until all the blood clears out of my vagina. After that I'm good to go with no spotting.
So I haven’t gotten my period yet and I am a late bloomer but I am interested in using a menstrual cup when I do start. Everything that I have researched has recommended the Lena or Lunette cup for beginners or teens. They both look great to me but the problem is I don’t know which one I should get when I do start? Any suggestions???
I tried using Sirona cup medium, insertion using lubricant was easy.
But later it moved up, it was bit difficult to reach and suction was too strong.
It was very hard to remove.
Is there any cup which is
Soft
Long
Transparent (not coloured)?
Since having a menstrual cup I’ve noticed just how light my period actually is. I fill maybe a fourth of a “size 1” at the end of the day. Is there a brand that makes an even smaller cup for lighter flows?
hi so i’ve been using a cup for a couple of cycles now (saalt soft) and i’ve loved it so far! but i have been experiencing some leaking..i’m not sure if it’s a me problem or i’m just not right for the cup. i have the smallest size they offered but the leaking happens every time i use it. it holds for about 1-3 hours they it starts to leak again. when i insert it i make sure i run a finger around to see if it’s in right and it feels like it’s not folded at all & suctioned..i don’t really like the way pads and tampons feel and i love how environmentally friendly these are too so i really want this to work so it would help me so much if someone could let me know if i’m doing something wrong! 🖤
Hello I have a question, if I only have 1 cup how do I sterilize it before using it again?
