    Thanks!
I had a VX2100 for a couple of days to digitize some old family tapes. Since I owned the VX2000 back in the day I got nostalgic and decided to test it against the GH5. This Review is not very scientific and just for the fun of it. Users of this old cam will get flashbacks. ;)

NOTE: I rechecked the Crop equivalent between the GH5 and VX2100. At f1.8 on the VX2100, the GH5 should be at f5.6 and not f4, so the GH5 has 1 stop advantage. It shows how capable this old cam was regarding low light. For a 1/3" sensor cam, it was truly the "Queen of the Night".

I still bust out the canon xl1 from time to time. It still looks great!

That's interesting. For what purposes do you use it?

@@TheBudgetFilmmaker Right now, it's just home movies. We used it in a commercial a year or so ago, just for fun, but it looks great. That thing shot hollywood feature films and can still be worked on to look great. Our colourist made it look too good for the commercial and had to pull it back.

If you deliver for SD TV it still works I guess. 😀
I had XL1 Footage on my timeline some time ago and I must say that I am glad to work in HD nowadays. I don't miss SD in the slightest, but it's good to remember were we all came from. Sadly I had to sell my VX2000 some years ago. But havin these old cameras in hand again gives good memories. And knowing your tools gives the best results, so I completely understand where you are coming from.

good review but poor filming on your end with the vx you literally didn't focus on 90% of your clips. I have the vx1000 and always manual focus for this reason.

Your video is not relevant. VX2100 has better quality than on your fotage. You probably use some very bad digitization equipment.
