So great that Peter David is getting all the omnibus love from Marvel these days. This was a pretty good run, nice chaser to his legendary Hulk work. Think I'll grab the Deodato cover but this one is outstanding as well.
Being a huge Peter David fan of course I’m picking this up. I went with the DM cover but the standard is nice as well. It’s great how this omnibus lines up perfectly with the ending of Dan Slott’s She-Hulk. Great overview as always Omar.
The John Byrne,Dan Slott,Peter David and Charles Soule's run are FANTASTIC. But Peter David's run spoke to me. And I LOVE it. Also, the way Jen was written in this reminded me of Eliza Dushku.
I read this last week, and had a great time with it. I really enjoyed the distinct arc Jennifer undergoes. Despute being cancelled the story has a distinctive progression to the character development, with an actual ending. Peter David never disappoints.
Nice to see Peter David getting the Omnibus love, now we need the Captain Marvel run. The question is do you put Avengers Forever in that collection or keep it Captain Marvel by Peter David?
Just Captain Marvel in my view. Forever is in the Busiek/Perez omnibuses and had its own OHC. That’d be nearly 300 pages taken up. If they are going to include stuff not by PAD, I’d prioritize Genis’ earliest appearances in Silver Surfer and his miniseries by Nicieza. But even then you’re adding probably well over 100 pages before any PAD, and he then drastically shifted the character.
I really hope they put that one out in an omni, maybe when the new Captain Marvel movie comes out, for marketing reasons. I'm guessing they'd leave out the Avengers Forever mini since it's in the Busiek/Perez Avengers omni and the two CM series would each make a decent sized omnibus.
Marvel, get the run back in paperback again and I’ll buy it. Not a run that I’m particularly interested in paying the premium on for hardcover, but would be happy to add to my shelf for completist reasons if more affordable. Happy for those who are grabbing this though, as the old paperbacks have been a nightmare to find for years.
Excited for this to arrive, have only read the first volune after Slott's. More Jen please! I love Soule's She-Hulk but that art is atrocious so my CC wont be getting upgraded unless it has Tamaki's run in Omni format.
9:58 You said the artist on the X-Factor issues was Larry David when it should've been Larry Stroman. I think you may have mixed the names of the writer and artist together which is pretty, pretty, pretty funny.
Thank you for overview. Looking at the collection set, looks like they focused on origin and the bestsellers. Looking forward to more omnibus of She-Hulk.
I been trying to fight the urge to not impulse buy non x related titles lately. between aaron's Thor omnibus mainly because I want to see if the hype about it is legit & because the movie. And the sensational she hulk & david's she hulk omni. Mainly because I like David as a writer and because I really enjoyed the sensational she issue in the Excalibur omnibus. And I'm curious to know if the rest of sensational she hulk is that much fun or are the other she hulk runs are too.
Dumb question here. Do I NEED Dan Slott’s run to understand everything happening in Peter David’s run or does it touch on all that and stand well on its own? And yes I watched the video
I watched an interview where Slott says he always "resets" the character he's writing for the next guy. He specifically talked about doing this with She-Hulk. So, I'd assume you'd be fine just reading David's run.
It’s only twelve issues, it won’t get omnibus. It might get an OHC eventually, but since they are reprinting the TPB that probably won’t be for a while if ever
Two questions: 1. Can I read this & the Dan Slott omni & be good to go, or should I do some reading before that? 2. Is it possible to read She-Hulk comics having never read Hulk comics?
You don't need to read anything before Slott's run, but you can always circle back around to Byrne's run if you want more She-Hulk. You can also read She-Hulk without reading Hulk. She often fights his villains, but that's about it. She's very much her own character. She'll pop up as a side character in his book more often than he shows up in hers.
PAD is one of my favourite writers because of his work on X-Factor, and I love She Hulk. But this run just didn't work for me. I loved Slott's so much and it was too different. I have the Byrne and Slott omnis but I'm going to sit this one out.

The video transitions are fire!
I've got this ordered. Love She-Hulk and Peter David!

People don’t like Larry Stroman’s art?! Crazy! I love it!

Excited for this. Love everything PAD does.
2 overviews in one day is really nice
This looks good fun! I've always been interested in her when she's made apperences in other comics I have.
PAD Hulk 5/companion confirmed.
After many many delays, MORE PAD love!!!!

I can’t wait to get this
So are we ever going to get a Bruce Jones Hulk omnibus?
That's one of my big wants too. Great run, very X-Files meets the Fugitive (or 70s tv Hulk).
TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS ! One of my most wanted omni’s !
Bruce Jones's hulk run definitely needs to be collected in an omnibus
8:07 ganpati bappa cameo!
I really like those neon green end pages. I’ve been torn on which cover but I think I’ll get the DM.
Deodato has had art on a few collected editions lately. Sure his bank account loves rhat.

This looks great. Stories sound good and love the artwork throughout. One for the collection 👍🏼
im ordering this tomorow

My pleasure!
Omar with yet another slam dunk omni review
Thank you!

You don’t need it. But some characters do pop in and out from Slott’s run.
@@Malachi_Risinger cool, thank you!
@@NearMintCondition good to know! Appreciated!
I need to get all of this before the show
love me some peter david
Never read this, but I like She-Hulk and PAD. I just need to get the Slott Omni reprint before I read this one, haha.
Omar, if you had money for only one She-Hulk Omnibus which one would you pick up?
Byrne!
@@NearMintCondition, thanks for that! I’m going for it.
I was wondering the same thing! Thank you
Standard Edition all the way!
Do you believe Soule’s run is likely to get an omnibus? I’m about to pre order the reprint of the complete collection.
I don’t think any time soon since the complete collection is coming later in the year.
It’s only twelve issues, it won’t get omnibus. It might get an OHC eventually, but since they are reprinting the TPB that probably won’t be for a while if ever
@@TheSabotuer96 there’s been 12 issue or less omnibus.

Are you talking about the page bunches? Because I don’t see anything wrong at all. Bedsides cosmetics.
@@NearMintCondition Probably yeah, but have to admit that I tend to have my books in good cosmetics shape. Thats why it always catch my eye.
Good eye.
