    IT was a beautiful old house before but they took that and made it even better. I love it when people revive old things. I do the same, but with cars. I bring classic cars back to life that have been sitting for years.

    i have seen many home flips and remodels. This is the best use of space and design I have ever seen. Absolutely love the colors and design. I know the Sharon Road area very upscale, probably could double investment any day. Well done!!! Well done!!!!

    WOW! Gorgeous house. But I wonder when a house has this many serious issues if it would be easier and less costly to bulldoze it and start from scratch rather than fixing everything? But you did a super job! It's beautiful. Love the finishes you chose.

      Bernice, I agree with you. When a house is "renovated," it's mostly cosmetic work, perhaps new windows and exterior paint or a new roof. But this was a total, down-to-the-studs rebuilding of the house. They did a good job, particularly with the exterior, but it's sad that the interior lacks the character of a home from this time.

    • @maggiebuchanan9369

    • @SuzanneBaruch
      @SuzanneBaruch 7 років тому +5

      Frank Gutowski: when you go all the way down to the studs and rebuild walls, it's not a renovation -- it's a complete remodel. Look the words up, there is a definite difference.

    Wow, you guys "went to work!" I am very, very impressed. Don't give a damn what these critics say [whose workmanship we have not seen] One of the things I appreciate, (among so many others) is that you paid attention to detail. In so many of the flips that I have seen, they do just enough to make the place look good, but sometimes it's what you don't see, like brand new and up to code wiring, plumbing etc. I keyed into those two things when I had my place renovated after a fire. I followed the inspector all over the place and I learned a lot. Over and above all that, this is a FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!!

    Although it probably would have been cheaper to build a new house from scratch, they probably chose to use the existing house for a couple of reasons. One, the history of the old house. And, two the paperwork involved in filling permits for a new house. In some states and counties it is easier to obtain paperwork for "renovating" an existing property as opposed to building a new one. Even though renovating can be extremely vague.

      Because of the age of the house and the area there could have been limitations that prevented them from tearing down the complete structure and rebuilding. The way they did it they kept the carbon footprint of the original structure and systematically replaced each part with new materials and expanded the square footage upward . The driveway looks extremely narrow not many cars could fit through on the side of the house and be able to park in the upper parking area in the backyard.

    Being in Real Estate I only recommend clients buying homes with a cement foundation, it's a much better value to the home buyer, this means less to go wrong with the home!!!!!!! WHEN buying a place you want to make sure it will go up in value, location is very important!!!

    Adding the side entrance wasn’t needed and it makes the driveway very narrow. Not sure many car could squeeze through there. If that upper concrete parking area had been left with just grass and some landscaping it would have been a great place for children to play, have a swing set or play set with slides and swings and other structure to play on or in. How many cars do they expect to park? They now have a circular driveway and can park 2 on the street and 2 in the straight section along the side of the house. They could have put in a pool in the upper section of the backyard as a different option instead of leaving it as a child play area.
