- This is the highlight our our year when we join friends and go to Vanlife Festival in Shrewsbury. This year I (Kath) was part of a Q&A panel with some amazing women. We met new friends and some subscribers. It was nice to meet and speak to @vanandrewschrisanddione and @redsgotravels
As well as enjoying the general vibe of the festival, sampling the food, spending money on the traders stands and tapping our feet to the fantastic array of musicians we once again managed some swimming in the adjacent river.
This is episode 128 in a series of videos cataloguing our post retirement adventures. We are Kath and Sue and we are travelling the UK with our two dogs Archie and Fudge and living full time in our Burstner Elegance Motorhome. We have given up conventional living for a new van-life, enjoying the freedom of the road and plenty of time outdoors taking in the beautiful countryside the UK has to offer.
I'm on the lookout for my first van . Excited to begin my journeys. You ladies have inspired me. Thanks x

Another lovely fun van life festival! I was upset we were missing it but hopefully next year! It’s lovely to have the water given you had sun to enjoy it in.. (for a second year running too!) Well done to Jan……I was gritting my teeth in empathy!😂
It was lovely and such a dog friendly festival. Jan had us all in stitches at the time and I couldn’t stop laughing when editing too. Such a trooper. We may see you there next year. 🙏🤗🚌❤️

Have just been catching up this morning, you find some cracking spots as always. Whatever you decide for the future you have to do what's best for you, but it sounds like you both enjoy this too much to stop yet so hopefully we get you on screen for a bit longer yet 😁
😂 I pleased you got it. Hope we were all smiling. It really was a fantastic weekend although may not be best for you as I know you don't like big crowds. Top tip is to go with someone so you can make your own little compound to escape back to. Sue also managed to find some early morning runs along the river when everyone else was still asleep. Yeah those kind of situations aren't brilliant for me on a bad day, however there's plenty of times when it's manageable, if I really want to do something enough it usually won't stop me trying at least. Plus filming is a great distraction 😁 We've worked at festivals so I know I can do it, the key as you say is to have a little bolthole when you want a bit of peace 🙂 The van would be good enough for that I think.
Great that Sue got a run in, if she's like me, you gotta take those opportunities where you can in a van cos often you're parked in places where it's a no-go zone 🙃

It really is. In 2 years on the road we haven't met anyone that we wouldn't want to chat to again. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help others out. Hope you take the plunge and enjoy it as much as we do. Happy travels. 🤗🙏🚌❤️
Barry's set up looks amazing! That is what I am aspiring to do, can you show a bit more of his set up?
It is pretty good and he made it all himself. Unfortunately we are not in the same place as him now or I’m sure he would let me do a van tour but I’ll have a chat with his daughter and see whether she could conjure anything up when she next see him. 🙏🤗🚌❤️
By the way later in the day on Sunday they closed the river to swimmers due to the strong currents. You picked best time to swim.
OMG!! We definitely picked our timing just right. There was a strong current in the middle even when we were there, but we just avoided that. Hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did. 🙏🤗🚌❤️
