Some of my favorite trebles over the years have been Owner, BKK, Decoy, Gamakatsu, and Mustad KVD's In the 6months of using just these. I have not experienced any difference in performance. And have experienced no failures.

Terminal tackle talk is always a good thing!!
Thanks for the "lecture" in the end. You are a decent man and good things will happen to folks like you. Love your content. Keep it up great work!
Thanks for the heads up. Past by those hooks multiple times. Figured they were a waste of money. Will be adding them to the cart today. Was just on their page today adding baits to my cart. Already ordered a few jerk baits and crankbaits from them. As far as crankbaits the HC15 and HC25 are nice. Haven't had any problems with the lures from them. Spent about 50 on lures from there. Thats about 20 lures or so. Haven't used them all. Wasn't into crankbait and jerk bait fishing. Cause I fish from the bank. And they can get expensive when u loose them. Came across wlures and said. I will give it a shot. The lures I got run true. Just check the connection points for holes in the lures. They can let water in. I just put a drop of super glue on them to make sure they were sealed good. Before I took any of them out on the water.
I been watching your channel for a couple of weeks now love the content keep up the good work
Thanks Maurice! Appreciate it and glad you enjoy it!

I spend a lot of money on fishing gear but with your research I get 10x value!
Here's what I love about your Channel.
#1 You are willing to put in time effort energy and money to research a product down to its most basic and elemental level, provide us your thoughts based on real world experience and post the best parts via video.
#2 Product marketing and advertising has no defense against your honest methods.
#3 You provide the valuable service of decluttering and in-part restructuring an Industry seemingly preying on those desperate to be effective fishermen.
#4 I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn what you found and I hope you remain true to yourself and others. It's your greatest asset! 🙂
Quality very good. Thanks for the video. Changed out all trebs to singles and removed the middle of all lures for the same reason you speak about plus the argument that you don’t want flying trebs when your pulling a thrashing fish onto your kayak!
Thanks for the feedback! And yeah....nothin worse than 9 fuggin hook points flying all over the place......
Love the content, would love to see a vid of split rings as well!
AGREED
Those weak hooks are good when you get a snag.
But not good when you hook your dream fish.
I'm a subscriber from holland. Here most people fish with gamakatsu or owner treble hooks, cost $9+ for 10#. When i need cheap but good hooks i order them at lureparts. Vmc trebles and single hooks cost less than $2 for 10# and guality is good. Shipping cost are $15+/-.
I have had single hooks on 90% of my trout lures and smaller jerk and twitch baits for at least four years now. Honestly I don't miss or loose more fish than before. It's more on the loosing less side.
I'm a catch and release fisherman and i also use single hooks for most of my lures for pike, seabass etc. I only use trebles for stingers on softbaits (jigging zander & pike) and when using live or dead bait.
Like your take on fishing with single hooks to minimize damage to the fish. Ever gone out with just barbless trebles to facilitate easier releases?
I bought some lures from wlure about 5 years ago and the treble hooks on the crankbait were just great. I still use them :)
Thanks for the video \m/
True to your channel, the most thorough review on treble hooks I've ever watched. Most lakes in my region have rip rap bottoms so I generally lose a lure long before hooks reach service limit. I even snip the leading treble point off the leading hook on all my lures to avoid the snag. Tight lines
Something to consider.......Thanks man! Part of why I come up with so many weird rigs...I have found that with big singles. (size 2's are what I use most often) And have the rear hook tine face upwards. I fish snaggy rivers very often....I lose no more than 5 lures per year. I do however break the bills off my baits regularly.
@@TackleAdvisors I'll try that, thx for the tip(no pun). It's frustrating losing a lure that's catching fish. I wish more lures utilized magnets to keep hook tucked away.
You know how much money I've spent because of you?
LOLOL......I get that alot lmao
Yep, there's a Spinshisher VI that's angry that I haven't been able to take it out yet.
You know how much money I’ve saved because of him??? Videos are top notch and he does the hard work for us. It’s all in how you look at the situation.
punchfishing I know me 2 I have about 200 reels now
You know what I say; You gotta spend money to spend money!
I ordered them when I watched this video. Three months later they arrived but I’m not disappointed
Thanks for this review!
Just ordered all the sizes in the cutting point version.
How well did you like them?
Just received my order today. Super Sticky hooks! I didn’t examine every single hook but the ones I handled looked top notch. Thanks for the heads up on these.
Ordered 2 packs of the #6. 9 bucks for 60 hooks is an absolute steal, hopefully they work well.
were they any good? edit to add. i got some since this message and there pretty good hooks, very sharp and strong but not the best for saltwater. for the price tho there very very good hooks.
Quality is fine. Looks good on my tablet. Great content. How about a saltwater hook review?
do you have a scale to see how much they weigh? It might be interesting to see how heavy they are vs the vmc or owner hooks et cet.
Since this is a couple years old, have you purchased recently as wondered if the quality had changed since then.
Cool. Just ordered some and also the 1\0 4x trebles for king stingers (needle, not cutting point on the1\0). Thanks for the tip.
Thanks for the heads up ! Great finding !
Thank you for sacrificing the health of your hand to show us these 😂😂😂
Current update on these treble hooks as of May 26, 2022 are they are great quality and if your looking for trebles I would recommend them. I just received my order 2 weeks after ordering and from what I can tell they are exactly as he describes on this video.
Awesome video bru.... I was scared you would get penetrated by the hooks! 😣 please tell me why crankbait factory hooks are so wack!!!
You can get mustad ewg short shanks on ebay cheap. 20 for about $5. I use a ton of them. No rust issues & very sharp.
I like the BKK Raptor Z and Diablo singles. Owner ST66 Trebs and SHOUT ringed singles. VMC Singles is great Don’t like there trebles, they tend to bend of GT. Great comparison video
I'm a fan of the shout singles too. Thanks man
Great recommendation for price!! Appreciate the video..🙌
Hey Scoob, i think I recognize that blue and pink Yozuri pin minnow. Great review as always. I noticed these hooks only comes in black nickel. I find black nickel hooks rust like crazy.... definitely not for salt water even if you could get one in the right size. Too bad. Not a viable alternative for V!C 9626PS.
I hate that youre so credible I ordered a size 2, 4 and 6 in the lightwire hooks! Good vid...looking forward to them. I just got done trying VMC barbarians...theyre good....but I dont think they are as sharp as they should be. Glad I found another good bulk and budget option
LOL..thanks man...Please report back on how they are. Mine were good...no bad welds and all points sharper than a standard vmc. Feel free to email me at TackleAdvisorsInitiative@gmail.com
Some of the chinese hooks out there are of high quality. I have a 100 pack of #6 singles, with the same cutting edge as those cheapo trebles you have. The company manufacture name was Bimoo. I got these from ebay. Price was around 9$ and change for 100 hooks. I've replaced the trebles on most of my little jerk baits with them, including a 1/8 oz pin's minnow. I've caught a number of dinky bass, here in jersey, on that pin's minnow without any problems. Just checked the hooks on the pin's minnow. No rust, and still razor sharp. It was cheaper to get these than owner, vmc, ect. brand , as these domestic brands come in packs of 6 or 7 for 3-4$ or more. That's not a good deal. I have no experience with the domestic brand single hooks, but if they are anything like these chinese ones, nothing against them except the price.
I also have a 100 pack of Paxipa brand, large ringed #15 Opsariichthys hooks from china. These hooks are kind of like sproat hooks, and are used a lot on small spoons over there. Most the small spoons I've ordered from china come with hooks like these. Anyway I like to put them on my homemade inline spinners & tiny spinner baits, and they have an interesting flat spear point kind of tip that is razor sharp. I think they were around 6 or 7 $ for 100 pack. I don't think I've caught that many fish on them yet, but a few nice bluegills and a small bass, throwing it on BFS gear. No issues or problems. I haven't tried any strength tests on either of these hooks, and I don't fish in saltwater much. I love throwing cheap spoons I've ordered from china in lakes sometimes. They are so damn cheap for a bunch of them, and will catch fish.
I only use a VMC 6X Strong size 4 to 4/0 treble. One treble per lure and a single or teaser on the end of the lure.
Awesome looking trebles
Quality on camera is on point. 🙌
Cool I noticed it looked OK in the editor but through the viewfinder it was a but stutter
Original hooks on that fish arrow r the best hooks I ever saw...
Good video...gotta try them...
I’m not in need of any extra treble right now but I might give their split ring a try
Thanks for providing another option. I love owner / VMC hooks . But to outfit a slew of 75's and 110 jerk baits can get a bit costly! i'll be sure to subscribe and provide to you an update this coming spring! Go GEORGIA DAWGS!!!!!
Cool. Thanks man! And please do.
Or crankbaits LOL
NIce. I have some of their blade baits and mini lipless cranks. Both are really great and under $1.50 ea.
I bought some hooks from Amazon and they are awesome
The VMC singles are terrible...point geometry is all wrong, and the points roll over on porgies! The Owners are superior by a wide margin, but as you said...they rust out quickly. The Gammy seabass single hook has a funky shape, but so far so good. Wish they came in #4 and #6s.
I love me some owner hooks, and gammy hooks also Trokar hooks.
If only these came in size 10 ,12 and 14
I'm speaking bass market mainly as that's my only experience, but the Owner and Gamakatsu hooks with that silky grey "nano coat finish" lol have worked pretty well for me. I learned were quickly from lost fish, and not very big ones, to change out the hooks on those Rapala baits, they are great for the price though, agreed!
I don't know what hooks came on the lucky craft wander reach.....but they are small wire and when i say evil sharp....I though I was done for after lipping a small mouth..With water logged fingers in the rain....just the weight of the half ounce lure was enough to almost sink the lure past the barb.....I removed them that night.....lol....Those are nice...I use them on "expeditions" where I''m essentially back packing in for giant yardstick brown trout.........and they still bend em out or throw them......I"m now 0-20 on them (15 to 20lb browns...river born and bred not lake)
SO appreciate your channel👍 Can't wait for Christmas, have a hunch Santa's dropping off a couple new reels. And you know what that means, I'm gonna need some new rods! I'm in desperate need of replacing numerous trebles, at that price I can afford more sizes=Win-Win, Thanks for sharing that tip. Video quality did not look as clear or defined as normal to me. But I had a long day and did alot of driving yesterday - might just be me? The close ups were very good though. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours!
The chineseium #6's made it on the slowboat.I'm impressed, promptly ordered more sizes👍 Thanks for sharing👌
I didnt like my size two owners. Sharper than anything else, but 2 of three hook points failed on a salmon. 1 sheered off completely. the other elongated to the moon. (weird inconsistency) and I barely got a decent 34" male in the net with one hook point left of 3. Took the rest off my other lures. Only use Gamy size 2 or Mustad KVD triple grip size 2. I dont have any issue bending those hooks out on larger salmon with the same rod/line/reel/drag setting.
Some of their lures are great too
Yes NJ waters do get heavy pressure, camera seems fine
Yeah man.....which is why you never see me on the water.....lol Thanks for the feeback brotha!
I have to check these out. Lets see what happens with price after your review..
I ordered and tested these hooks against every treble hook in my tackle box. They where not as strong as most of the hooks I use. I would say there slightly below average in strength for hooks of same size. Not the weakest hook but i would only use them against smaller fish of max 3-4lb.
The more expensive hook they advertise on their page. It’s shown as.
30 Hooks per Pack Black Nickle Round Bend Cutting Blade Forged High Quality Treble Fishing Hooks
@The Goods hi. I ordered a load of hooks. Some where brand names and some cheaper. These hooks where above average and definitely better than most of the hooks you find on cheap lure’s. I live in Bangkok thailand and we can by hooks here called tonnam depending on size there 50 us cent per hook and they are stronger in a hook tug of war than all the hook I tested including the mustad and owner x4 strength. When your hooking in to giant snakehead or barramundi you need a very strong hook as the mouth is all bone.
Still using these hooks? I normally use Mustad gamu and owner
Thanks for the info!
Good information thanks sir
Yea, you just have to find them. When you come across some that perform though it's great.
Awesome deal though, lol glad they at least didn't snap like some garbage does and fly into you hand.
Yeah man...these were surprisingly good. Been about 6 months and probably a thousand pounds of fish caught using them...and I can't find a fault.
I had a size 2 vmc single break on a brown trout...last I ever used their singles.
@@TackleAdvisors and it really does seem to be weird with VMC. I have had some of their ewg worm hooks, with the lure keep prong and that coated eye that have been amazingly tough hooks, but then garbage trebles. I had tried different ones for awhile to have to change out on cheap lures I throw in and around stumps and came across a few nice quality cheapos, but these look great for the price.
Bass Nazi, shooting Nazis made homes affordable and put many American G.I.s through college. You should change your name.
@@budrollin7557 lol you win, first person to actually take it as something offensive out of over a year. It's a Seinfeld reference.
Owners are prob rusting where the chemical sharpening is done. Cool vid as always brother.
the first second in and im already having flashbacks to the time i got treble hooked past the barb
I've used these. They seem strong, but they break. When you slowly bend them, they probably won't break, but I have had a fish shake or thrash and the hook broke right in half. I have never had other treble hooks do that. I would not recommend these to anyone.
I bought them. They didnt arrived yet. Yo you have a similar recommendation for strong but cheap split rings???
dude.. i've just tried a $6 for 40 pcs non branded black ni-ca treble hook china made yday.. it's awesome, size 10 can hold up big barra without bend.. this is serious threat for those expensive branded hook 😄 LOL..
Camera is working well in my opinion.
Thanks for the feedback!
I'm going to buy them..!
Thanking you for what you do, learnt so much since I have been watching and it took the guess work out of a lot of things. Two questions :-
(1) Do prefer the Battle over the BG ? and
(2) What's the name of these hooks ?
Hey Johnny: Bg 10:1 over the battle. It's a superior reel. If I remember correctly they're wlure hooks. I put the link in the description. Should still works
I thought I was the only one that does this kind of stuff you should sometimes check store-bought leaders they are pure garbage at least 90% of them that's why I've been making my own for many years too. If you pull them with scales most of them will unwind in some way at about 9 lb
Dude you have fish tanks? I seriously expect some videos of those! Would definitely watch!
What are your top replacement hooks for saltwater use (rapala top waters and divers)?
I agree a bit with your multiple hook point rant. Yes 1 treble is ok but that 2nd one has also done similar harm to my bass catches. the state recently just did that hook restriction regulation on wild trout streams. At the same time though some of the guys I know that fish for trout dont report any problems with two trebles and are ignoring the new regulation (cause honestly no one is really patrolling these waters) Also have you ever checked out Chuck and deb's for tackle?
New jersey just made some restrictions which is a nice start.....Never heard of them but will check them out.
@@TackleAdvisors yep last year but they're just for catch and release areas and the likes. You can check it out in the fish digest magazine
great info, love Wlures but Shelts has them cheaper
Thank you!
i just received them the quality is excellent. what about the size compared to owner? size 1 of the cheap one is equal to owner 1/0? and size 2 equal to 2/0? (i'm searching hooks sized for lures like "buster jerk", swimbaits, etc..)
Thanks for the info, just what I was looking for. I would like to start using singles myself, if you find any good singles on eBay like these trebles, please make a video would be very much appreciated, Cheer's!
I like mustad hooks.
great vid!!!!
Hi if you get a chance, do a review on the company Cadence. They make reels and rods and donate some of that money to donating rods to children getting into the sport, and seem to stand by their product. To me though their products seem too good to be true.
AsianInvasion I have there CS5 and CB5. Spinning and Baitcaster I have been impressed by there quality so far!
Joshua Casey really? that’s cool because i need a new freshwater reel
thanks for the hook up...
I see what you did there lol :)
do you have a recommendation for inexpesive really sharp circle hooks or regular hooks?
Nothing like this... I shop single hooks by design.... No cheapies fit the bill
You should review trapper hooks
The #8 and #4 seem to have a thicker wire than the #6, which you have linked to. Is the #6 as strong as the others, or should i jusg get the heavier wire:) thanks for the content!
I meant opposite: the #6 has the thicker wire.
How long did it take to get i ordered some April 16 still havent shipped
I only use owner stinger and owner zo wire
Video quality to me was good .. I wonder how this hooks would do in saltwater
Sir (I don't know your name) .. Excellent video as usual, I don't see any links bellow? maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.... does the link still work and cold you give it to me here please. Or better still 'teach a man to fish' so to speak and tell me where the links bellow should be located. I'm not blind or stupid, but truly I can't see any links below... many thanks from a TA fan .... Senegal, West Africa
1. Yeah not smooth autofocus at all, takes a long time to re-focus...
2. Kinda not fair to compare light wire VMC hooks with obviously 2x or even 3x strong chinese, for fairness you should have used for example VMC 9632 for comparing, they are slightly thicker yet much stronger...
For straght point models maybe 9622 for comparison, or 9625 for saltwater use?
3. Mustad has some SICK treble hooks which retail over here for about 10 euros/50 pack, definitely should have been in the mix, I think model # is 36330...
4. The test itself, yeah it is quite good but you should have also added a tip test, peace of wood on a ledge and then pull to see how they do in loosely hooked, or for some species "hook in the tooth" situations!
We used to be delighted with Gamakatsu 12B and 13B models because puting a finger in the bend and pushing outward proved them strong, same thing with trying to bend them sideways, BUT once they were hooked loosely or in the teeth of a Wels catfish, a #1 would crap out quite easily!
They also proved to be very sharp up to a point before they touch just about anything, especialy a rock, just a graze and there goes the sharp tip, and resharping it is hell...
5. My personal favs for these lures are mostly VMC 9622N, the O'shaughnessy bend type hooks generaly do not bend as easily as those Aberdeen type ones you used (are those 9651, and Rapala generaly uses 8450 I think) and for heavy wire VMC 9626 or recently Mustad 36330 for budget hooks.
I used to buy Owner too and was a huge fan while they were about 6 euros for a 6 pack, but then they DOUBLED in price in just couple of years so I said hell no, I've got two small kids now and simply will not spend 50 euros on hooks montly (which is a nice peace of months pay in e.Europe)!
So like I said went for economy class and bulk packs, very satisfied with what 10 euros buys you, 50 of each of the above, although bulk packs for VMC are 100 but they are similarly priced when compared...
Where can I get them at and will there be different sizes.
What are some of the best 3x or 4x strong size 6 treble hooks?
anything bkk, the new fancy mustads are very nice, tsunami salt x (bkk)
Yo bud, do you know if they sell those hooks in red? I want to try adding a red hook to the front of some of my jerkbaits. Also another site I've found similar to the one linked to this video is fishkds. They have a bunch of "cheap" stuff on there.
I knew chinesium already, but alibbabazon is a new one. You might not be Canadian, are ya

Does anyone know what hooks would be equivalent to VMC treble 1/0 , 2/0 and 3/0.
While we're at it, what split rings do you favor? I target stripers and they love to twist out split rings.
my guess is, wolverine triple wrap or owner hyperwires.
Just get owner hyperwire or owner ultra split rings and never worry about that again.
Take apart a irt reel next
I contacted them after seeing your comment....they said they were game....Kilsong and Denny two of their field "agents" also supported them sending me a reel.....but they went dark soon after.

Any recommendations for inline single (treble replacement) hooks?
Owner, Decoy, Gamakatsu seabass......my top 3 . For the salt...Owner, Mustad kaiju, gamakatsu 410
Ive had vmc 4x trebles bend on big reds :/ thinking of going with the 6x fish fighter trebles. Anyone use these kind of hooks????
Pardon my french but I absolutely love this shit!!
Lol sorry but I don't speak French. What does shit translate to?
Tackle Advisors in this context ”shit” roughly translates to quality content being provided on a regular basis to keep money in my pocket and quality gear in my tackle box /on my fishing rod.
Which Lucky Craft is that? I saw you do a video on a Lucky a while back,,Flash something?
The bill less one? That's a LC wander. Awesome baits very unique
@@TackleAdvisors And did you say trout were taking that ? what size lure, and what size trout?
Do u know of any cheap but quality split rings for 2.5 size squarebills and 110 size jerkbaits? Off of ebay would be great.
I bought rings from river guide supply on ebay. Strong...not as springy as owners. But never had one open. I opted for the HD's in the sizes I bought.......I bought 4 sizes. The black coating will get funky after awhile so i'd say just go stainless. They're better than what comes on a bunch of baits...and worth noting that I bought hd due to weight since ofen i use singles
www.ebay.com/sch/riverguidesupply/m.html?ssPageName=&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2654
Do you replace stock hooks with the same size with these?
Sure. But I often play around with size and weight to make baits do different things
What is the wake bait just above the shadow rap shad..
Lucky craft real california...comes with a metal blade tail and soft plastic tail...not a bad bait..the super realistic one with the fins is garbage
Sharper than VMC! LOL doesn't take much to be sharper than VMC treble hooks. Their single hooks and jigheads are nice though.
I need striper sized hooks.
What about rust test
I showed that pile of baits as a rust test......they're on par with standard owners and vmc's They seem to use the same coating applied in the same way.
I’m trying to do service on my new stradic ci4 + but I don’t have the tool to get the set screw of the main shaft what do you use? Also right in the middle of the shaft moving up and down there is a click in the reel.
