I've seen this Episode played several times, and I've played it once myself, and I'm still not even close to tired of it. The fact that I have14 other Episodes waiting for me is amazing. Great video. I can't wait to see more!

I've played it with Bert & Ernie. My 4yo son was Bert and I was Ernie XD and we killed The King in Yellow! Well, I killed him. Bert died... It was soooo much fuuuuuun hehe
At 42:31 i would have taken the monkey paw personnaly. Since the card says you MAY transform an elder sign into a success and insanity. So it's just an option that you have when needed. Even if you lose it later, that's not important. Good video. I played it 7 times and i'm still looking for my first win.
@@RollingSolo Is there a character that has a monkey or a monkey item? Because i'm reading/interpreting this card like this: "If you have the monkey as your companion". If your character has a monkey, you may discard (kill?) it to turn it into a monkey paw item that you can use.
@@mindtwist I know this is old but yes. He couldn't claim the Monkey Paw since he didn't have the criteria of having the monkey companion. You can only claim it by killing the monkey companion.
Super old comment but no, you don't need the monkey to claim the paw. If you have the monkey, he realizes that it is his paw and gets angry, wounds you, and runs away. Either way, there is a monkey paw in the room. This is how it was explained to us recently.
Great video Adam! Played the same scenario yesterday for the first time and loved it. The rules are quick to grasp and it plays very fast after some turns. We lost but it was fun!. Keep up the good work.
@27:10 each cultists moves 1 space towards you. Does it apply to cultists not on the same level? You didn't move the cultist on tile 11b. Are 2 tiles connected by stairs considered adjacent?
Re: your first turn ==> Something this game taught me the hard way is: A) If possible, never stop your turn one room away from a baddie, since there are many "move 1 space toward you" cards in the mythos deck, in every episode and for every elder one, and B) If you can rest and have fewer than 2 stress left, rest. Not only does it help with unplanned attacks (lost one game like this) but there is a whole lot of discovery cards that ask you to spend one or two stress to get their benefit (again, in every episode) ^_^
Don't forget your skills! Rasputin has Arcane Mastery which lets him treat one Elder Sign as a success per roll! So that first roll against the lab did 3 damage.
hi! just a question.. on 54:00, you rolled 2 successes and 1 elder sign. according to rasputin's skill arcane mastery, you may count 1 arcane mastery as a success. that means, you should wound the lab token 3x instead of 2x right? just want to clarify..
10:40 I'd very much like to trade my short term memory away! lol I came to see this game because someone in my area is selling it, but my first impression of this game is just the same old Arkham Horror but glorified with miniatures. You move, you investigate/remove monsters, then eventually you fight the elder one with whatever tools/health you have remaining. Am I wrong?
That’s the basic premise but every episode presents different mechanics and challenges. Also the Elder God you pick mixes with the episode you pick to create a unique situation. That’s the beauty of this one. One episode is much more replayable across Elder Gods. It’s just plain fun.
Loving your channel, lots of games you have are also in my collection. Looking forward to getting this to the table but I have to get the Mini’s painted first.

Seems like an interesting game. I decided against backing this and kinda regretting it now. The stress mechanic for rerolling looks like its been lifted from the Deep Madness sanity mechanic.
Certainly has some ties there Mythos! I like the different approach of this game I. That it’s down to the final hours to win or lose. Less of a sprawling epic and more of a crunch for ultimate last minute success!
It’s a fantastic design and pure fun. The game is balanced perfectly for a tense ending every time. They need to do another run of this one on KS. It was my surprise hit of 2019 hands down.
And again you have me hooked Adam, I will just have to watch the next episodes and make sure that I have no access to my bank cards. because every time I watch one of your long series of playthroughs I end up buying the game. And in the case of the recent kickstarter you did I have pledged into it. I have only just started playing Gloomhaven after watching your series from 2 years ago so I must must must not buy any more games lol.

Just see that card number 9a is placed wrong. At minute 27 the cultist can reach Adam. Just a little mistake in the setup.

I am loving this game. Just bought season 2 and yog sototh. Black goat is on the way too. Now if I can just beat that dang ole hastur.

Just played this game for the first time last night. This episode, but against the Dagon. Spoiler alert: he isn't very nice!
