I finally figured that out thanks to you. Taking a break gives me time to refocus and figure out how I want to tackle the job after the break. If you don't take your breaks you eventually slow down and lose focus and you actually get less done. I worked for a company for 28 years and never missed a route never called in sick and at the end the boss didn't care and I wasn't appreciated , I'll never make that mistake again.5:44 . I
I started with great intentions a few months ago, but now I'm just thinking, wtheck was I thinking....These elementary kids are rude, smart mouthed, nasty and some of the teachers are so ignorant, clueless, and think they are the only ones, I have to clean up after. $10.00 an hour.
This question and video answer applies well in situations where you have burnout or physical limitations. I had two knee replacements a couple of years ago, and before surgery my admin knew I was struggling, but also knew my work ethic, so no one begrudged my sitting in the break room for 20 minutes icing my knees and getting geared up for another round on the 'battlefield.' I took many short 5 minute sitdowns while midway through vacuuming a room (backpack model). It made so much difference in my ability to keep going and make it through my shift.
I jus think I work part time 5 to 6 hours day I hardly took a break but idc pass 3 hours im breaking and I’m eating it’s essential u eat and drink something healthy my last job had no break room jus a janitor closet I think we suppose to go to our car in sit the interview was in a office
I am a cafeteria worker and no breaks, lunch we have to eat quickly if we have time. We have to move quickly in our chores. We cook, clean , wash dishes, mop, serve the line. I am overwhelmed to be honest. Any advice? I should of went for a custodian position.
@sweetie664 I believe you. my mom is in hospital now. The whole hospital is understaffed. Seems like everyone is suffering trying to find help these days.
Even if it is just a quick 5 minutes, take a break, take some pressure off your legs, relax. You'd be surprised how much more energy and endurance you'll have.
Another great video, just an unrelated question, I am retired and am cleaning 8 classrooms every night, I have been given a two hour window to get them done, the first night it took me 3 hours plus to get them done , so I sent a text telling the head custodian and he replied UT was okay and I will get faster in time, the next night took me 2.5 hours, so I have learned that hey if the sink hasn't been used move on to the ones that have been used, little shortcuts like that, etc. Without sacrifices on other essential cleaning, they are all carpeted and the grades are kindergarten through 2nd grade, with one preschool class, my question is at my age I go at a pretty good clip to get them done but I'm worried that if I keep going over that 2 hour time limit it won't look good on Time sheet, is there something about that time limit they are not telling me? They do have a 3000 dollar cleaning surpluslwft over at the end of the year. Any thoughts on this? because I care about the cleanliness of every thing I do.thanks.
We do take extra long breaks sometimes. That’s what I love about being a janitor, sometimes we get to take up to two hour breaks paid

Are these tiled rooms or carpet? We are supposed to get 20 minutes per carpeted rooms and 25 per tiled in our district.
@GammerThumbs all my rooms are tiled. Office are carpet. My question is why the time limit? I have always set my pace.
I think we're supposed to have 11 minutes per classroom
@jshanks8365 that’s ridiculous
@@mrjeffthecustodian yep. That's to hoover and clean desks daily and high and low dusting once per week.
Some people i've worked with over the years don't do enough work to get burnout 😂
