Nitro processing and Toxic tunnels seem like the hardest to get the platinum relic. There's so many enemies to avoid. It's so hard to finish the level without dying.
It’s because of how much time you get to clear them. If them and Rock Blocked had just five to six more seconds put towards the time clearance, it wouldn’t be as stress inducing.

If you find yourself falling off edges with the triple spin, I'd recommend using the slide spin alongside the triple spin. The slide spin counts towards pulling off the triple spin, and it also gives you a lot of hang time in the air to cover long distances. If you're having trouble with any particular level, I uploaded successful runs against the dev times in every level and they show how I used the triple spin and slide spin. I must have watched this video a hundred times over the years. I'm at the final 3 levels in the game to just platinum relic, lol. This game has been a nightmare for me. But to know I'm on the 3 final levels. Oh man it's satisfying. This is the hardest game I've ever played.
Rush Hour was maybe the hardest for me, both for the Insanely Perfect relic and plat time trial. That ending is so hard to learn; it just came down to a bit of luck mixed with grinding.
I am trying the purple relics myself, I learned that at my ability, these developers are in a different league than me, it’s not possible to beat them all with one controller, the square button has a spring like any other button, and triple spins and slide spins uses the spring to do the actions. If the square is used too much the spring will be shot and then the triple spin and slide spin rhythm will not be easy anymore when trying time trials. I have some back up controllers to challenge these ghosts with to leave my best controllers out of the cross fire. A Real Grind is definitely luck based with the sharks, I gave up on that, but might get back to it later for practice. Hit the Road was my recent one with success and I have to say, triple spin mania that one, some slide spin too, but that was quite a tough one in the chase section with slow surfaces and barbed wire.

The thing I appreciated the most when going for these relics is that generally, the later levels had more generous times. It doesn't necessarily make it easier all the time, but I can at least be more sure that I won't have to redo it. Cortex Castle and Rush Hour in particular were especially generous for me because I got both of them by complete accident when going after the platinums. I'd say the hardest ones for me were Toxic Tunnels, A Real Grind, Jetboard Jetty, and every Cortex level minus Fossil Fueled.
cortex castle for example for me i got the dev time when i was going for platinum i think cortex castles dev time is not as impressive as some platinums
I have in fact gotten all the dev time relics, tho I can't really say a top 10 I can say that the hardest lvl for me was rock blocked due to the stupid lava rotations before the last chase section (it took me like 3 or so days to complete ;w;)
Some days ago I also completed all the purple relics, with a quite decent margin in most levels, and uploaded all of them to my channel. I used some of your videos for reference, so thanks a lot. I personally think that the worst ones are The Crate Escape due to Cortex's general issues, and A Real Grind, because I really don't know of any consistent way to pass through the second and third sharks from the beginning of the level without stopping AND without losing Aku-Aku to them, and the last part of the level is hell without invincibility, so in order to beat the purple relic time I had to... grind quite a lot until I managed to get through the fucking sharks getting no damage at all, AND then get through the rest of the level without making great mistakes. So I find A Real Grind the most annoying time trial by far. But the level that cost me the most actually was Rude Awakening, and the reason for that was simple: before Rude Awakening, I had only done other two purple relics: Cortex Castle and Run it Bayou, two of the easiest ones (which I have redone since then, destroying my old times since I'm now much better at this game than a few weeks ago), but it was in Rude Awakening where I discovered how important was to use, whenever possible, the slide spin instead of the triple spin. At first, I was only using triple spin for absolutely everything, and it seemed to me like Rude Awakening's time was completely impossible to beat. When I discovered how important the slide spin was, how much faster was compared to the triple spin in a lot of situations, I had to learn how to properly use it, so I spend quite a lot of time in Rude Awakening learning how to do it. After getting that level right, this stuff, getting all the purple relics, suddenly became possible to pull off, so in a way I guess that Rude Awakening was the most important milestone for me.
Yes rude awakening was hard for me too because at the time I wasn't fluent with the fastest movement. You can wait for the sharks in a real grind and still beat the dev time because the dev ghost misses a time box
Absolutely insane. I have ocd and need to 100% any game like this so the time trials have been bending me over and having their way with me but this has been incredibly helpful you got my sub.
So I’ve only been going for the platinum relics for my 106% run and I managed to randomly get only 1 dev time and of all the levels it was on toxic tunnels
I think I have the skill to get the dev relics, I'm always 4-6 seconds away from the time after getting the platinum ones in a few tries. But I can immediately tell the level of precision and consistency these times require and you have virtually zero reward for doing it lol, I'm not willing to go through the suffering man respect to you lol, I'm fine with just the platinum ones, they are even fun to do. They should have included a new skin as reward at least.
Man… a real grind is one of the hardest I’ve got. I got the delevoper times in the first and second worlds and one others like fossil fuelled, Ruth hour, etc.. But a real grind was hard and I did I BY 0.04 SECONDS.

21 platinum relics so far. That includes all the levels up to the ice level except one of dingodiles levels because it felt so slow and draggin on because it’s a glitchy map.

run it bayou's plat felt like the dev time, the ghost was going top speed at the beginning traversing the jetboard section, i ended up perfecting everything (except a few crates on the last jetboard section) and accidentally ended up with a dev relic, imo home cooking was the easiest one though
My 10 Hardest are (Platinum only): 1 (Worst). Rock Blocked (Badly design for trials, Dingodile's section is okay, after that... AWFUL and Inconsistent, triple spin cuts off, often the jumps and sliding fells floppy and it just doesn't work). 2. The Crate Escape (CORTEX)! 3. Rush Hour (The last stretch with all those vehicles). 4. Toxic Tunnel (Over-loaded with enemies). 5. Dino Dash (Sliding sections and like Rock Blocked badly designed for time trials). 6. Nitro Processing (Like Toxic Tunnels, Over-loaded with enemies) 7. Seeing Double (CORTEX)! 8. Run it Bayuo (Jetboard controls and the time crates on the waterfall near the end of the level). 9. No Dillo Dallying (the same reasons as 'Run It Bayuo', but Dingodile's section was okay). 10. Draggin' On (Speeding through and trying to spin-jump with Akano can be hard, it took me several attempts). I was going to put Bears Repeating and Building Bridges, but decided not to since Polar's section has been patched and fixed (which made it much easier).

I would say ship happens is the number 1# most hardest level for time trial because of the developer time at 0:39.43 seconds. Omg that's impossible to beat.
The fact that I don't like about these time trials is that you need to do that slide/spin movement in order to be fast enough. It's like you're exploiting the game and doesn't feel genuine. The max relic should be obtainable by running normally...
I feel like Rush Hour and Cortex Castle will be the only ones I can beat cause I can get through those ones fast. I got the game on Switch and only have three Plats, so still a long way to go
There are some dev relics that are sort of easy. Emphasis on 'sort of'. At N'Sanity Peak I was actually like 2 secs away from dev time on my 1st Platinum-earning run.
my biggest problem with the time trials in this game is what was wrong with the speed shoes why have i got to do 400 button press to time a triple spin in to slide spin in to jump
The difficulty is on par with Rayman and Jak II, I will give you that. Practically anything could kill you. Heck, I bet even a ladybug can kill Crash in his sleep if he is not careful.
Building bridges was a easy run for me, my platinum relic was seconds from the developer time. The 2d Tanna part is on a pattern cycle so I followed it. The bear part was easy enough for me to memorize. My prove is on my channel.
@@Glitchyy64 my problem in ctr was that hitting a wall once or accidentally braking instead of u turning loses the fire and ruins everything. In crash 4 as long as u don't die u can keep going.

You are crazy. I had gold on all levels in CB3, occasinal platinums, but this game, nah fuck it. I am not risking my mental health to finish level in single run with time ticking.
Personally I found Rock Blocked's time trial way harder then any of these levels as it gives you basically ZERO room for error and there's that stupid glitch where Dingodile can randomly get stuck on those log platforms for no reason, I had so many runs ruined because of that bullshit. Toxic Tunnels at least gives you plenty of opportunities to save a bunch of time so that you have some room for error but Rock Blocked has pretty much no shortcuts.

I'd say the hardest ones for me were Toxic Tunnels, A Real Grind, Jetboard Jetty, and every Cortex level minus Fossil Fueled.
cortex castle for example for me i got the dev time when i was going for platinum i think cortex castles dev time is not as impressive as some platinums
your reward for this challenge is a sub from me great job
Toxic Tunnels took me an hour to beat on my first NORMAL run. That tells you how difficult the level really is.
I have in fact gotten all the dev time relics, tho I can't really say a top 10 I can say that the hardest lvl for me was rock blocked due to the stupid lava rotations before the last chase section
(it took me like 3 or so days to complete ;w;)
The first time I beat Rush Hour in Time Trials, (which took a long time), I got a Purple Relic.
Yes it's a long level to get through but the dev time isn't that fast
Glad I can help 😁
Toxic tunnels is the only one I have left to do, it's really hard
After A LOT of practice, and discovering the Akano speed glitch, i managed a 58:70 time in Cortex Castle
Nice but I got a 51.48 with mistakes but that's still a good time.
Great vid :)
I really want to platinum this game - I truly do but the experience has injured my ego
Man… a real grind is one of the hardest I’ve got. I got the delevoper times in the first and second worlds and one others like fossil fuelled, Ruth hour, etc.. But a real grind was hard and I did I BY 0.04 SECONDS.
Cortex time trials are impossible for me... help!
Just keep at it, you'll get there eventually!
Here's a challenge for u: get all purple relics without the triple spin. I've done all but 8 of them and i don't have the dedication to try anymore.
@@connorbredall3112 my comment says all but 8 so I had done most of them without the triple spin.
And since posting that comment I have done the 8 I previously couldn't
@@blue_red_screen So I deleted the comment you replied to 3 hours ago, thinking it would delete the chain as it does with Facebook, as a way to hide the embarrassment. It didn't work.
@@connorbredall3112 no that won't work because my comment started the chain
Here I’m sitting mentally exhausted after taking 1 hour 30 mins to get the platinum relic on a real grind. The toys for Bob relics can fuck off.
Toxic Tunnels Platinum Relic drove me mad in some ways...
I am currently working on the platinum relics, i was thinking about trying the dev times but after this video..... HELL NO!!
But to be honest, the platinum relics in this game aren't even that bad once you master the triple slide spin compared to the previous games.
@@saadpoint6668 what about the cortex levels?
@@edwin99901 they're the hardest levels for me.
was stuck on toxic tunnels so long. when i beated it, it was with a purple relic time. helped me to beat perfect relic absurdly fast (i though it was going to be a f* nighmare)
Anyone that can beat the developer time on rush hour is a crash bandicoot God
Crash’s face in the thumbnail explains my life entirely
I mostly can do gold relics with occastional plat relics.
And now, after a lot of practice, i have managed to get all 38 dev relics.
New subscriber and I really enjoyed it
toys for bob should give all of the ones who got 106% and all the developer relics should get a real platninum relic along with a 100K dollar cheque
21 platinum relics so far. That includes all the levels up to the ice level except one of dingodiles levels because it felt so slow and draggin on because it’s a glitchy map.
Now do the easiest and put Run It Bayou on the nb. 1 because it's literally the easiest time trial map ever. That's actually the only map I have a Toys for Bob relic on lol.
You ain't kidding about the hard all I had to do try it out and see for myself before posting.
While going for the Platinums, I beat the dev times for Cortex Castle and shipping error (somehow) without to much trouble
OMG yes. I obviously cant beat all the levels because of Cortex
run it bayou's plat felt like the dev time, the ghost was going top speed at the beginning traversing the jetboard section, i ended up perfecting everything (except a few crates on the last jetboard section) and accidentally ended up with a dev relic, imo home cooking was the easiest one though
Every Cortex level was a NIGHTMARE!!!! I despised all the levels with the bonus characters!
My 10 Hardest are (Platinum only):
1 (Worst).
6. Nitro Processing (Like Toxic Tunnels, Over-loaded with enemies)
Solid list, and valid points made. Can't argue with that!
Toxic tunnels, the hardest level in crash bandicoot's history XD
Not the hardest to get the nsane relic imo .....crash landed and crate escape were the most annoying ones for me ....toxic tunnels is tough though ...but I do love that level ...probably my favourite level.
@@ilck-ym-blals7385 I found crash landed easy. Seeing double, toxic tunnel, cortex castle, rock blocked, jetboard jetty, those were some of the hard ones.
@@edwin99901 each to their own ain't it ...I didnt have a problem with jetboard jetty , seeing double or even cortex castle really once you learn what to do , crash landed was just such a long ass annoying level to me , if I missed a box I didnt want to play back through the level again...hated the level...whereas toxic tunnels was tough yeah but I didnt mind going back through it cause it's my favourite level....I think it's a good challenge and a well made level.
@@ilck-ym-blals7385 what about the polar bear levels
@@blue_red_screen bears repeating wasn't tooooo bad ...bit of a bitch but it took about 5 mins to get to the bear part , which imo is the only hard part. Building bridges i found harder ...but then crash landed is the worst for me , getting all the way to that end riding section only to miss a box! An have to go through that whole stupid level! Sliding around everywhere and having to do that fucking gem path all over again ...God I hate it!

I’m currently at 32/36 platinum relics. There’s no way I’m going for the developer times because I’m not skilled enough to even push myself that far.
Edit 1: I’ve got 1 more platinum relic to obtain and that’s in The Crate Escape.
Edit 2: I got the platinum trophy on January 12th. Crash 4 is definitely one of the hardest games I’ve played to reach 100% (106% for absolutely everything).
Have you done the dev times on the "new" crash team racing?
I have! They were absolutely brutal. William P doesn’t mess around
Wahhh where is 'rock blocked'? That should definitely be on this list :O
You’re not the only one who’s said that. I guess Rock Blocked was kinder to me than to everyone else ^^’
Nicely done! ...fuck the time trials! I thought I was a bad ass getting the nsane relics......I was wrong.
Just by looking at it makes me prevent myself for me doing it, no chance
Bro you gonna make me cry I just finished rude awakening platinum trial and it’s not top 10 I can’t with this it took me 4 hours maybe 😭
Platinums were easy in NST especially Crash 1 because that was my favourite so I played it the most, I really hate the movement in this game though
I found some platinum relics in NST extremely hard. The lab and hog ride stood out
I already have quite a lot of the platinum relics, but right now I'm losing my mind over Jetboard Jetty :/
You actually got all the purple dev relics. You are better than Caddicarus.
Am so proud of this plarinum trophy
I died for rush hour died at mostly twana at the end that bloody traffic
Toughest part of long level
I would say ship happens is the number 1# most hardest level for time trial because of the developer time at 0:39.43 seconds. Omg that's impossible to beat.
Near the end of the level there's a box (surrounded by nitros) which activates 2 tnts. Jump on both of them and a bunch of time crates will break
It’s my 2nd hardest but my most hardest level to Platinum relic is cortex castle.
Thank god the dev times are just bragging rights
The fact that I don't like about these time trials is that you need to do that slide/spin movement in order to be fast enough. It's like you're exploiting the game and doesn't feel genuine. The max relic should be obtainable by running normally...
Man do I LOVE this game soooooo much
Best crash game ever for me
I feel like Rush Hour and Cortex Castle will be the only ones I can beat cause I can get through those ones fast. I got the game on Switch and only have three Plats, so still a long way to go
I have a question, is it necessary the relics of the developers for the 106%?
as far as I know, only Platinum relics are required for 106% completion :]
Have u done the ctr nitro fueled dev times? If so which were harder?
I would say the ctr nitro fuelled dev times are harder than the crash 4 dev times
@@Torran2Glitchy man to me ctr was easier crash 4 is just complete madness i completed 25 toys for bob relics got 13 left.
@@Glitchyy64 my problem in ctr was that hitting a wall once or accidentally braking instead of u turning loses the fire and ruins everything. In crash 4 as long as u don't die u can keep going.
I am only missing the top 3 on this list but I'm still missing 10 relics right now. I'll take that as a confidence boost for the other 7 but as a bad women to come for those top 3.
Omen or women?
When I finished 2nd dimension I instantly knwe I am not event trying to do time trials unless there is some sort of checkpoint midway, because they are simply too long .. and you beat dev times on all of them? You are crazy. I had gold on all levels in CB3, occasinal platinums, but this game, nah fuck it. I am not risking my mental health to finish level in single run with time ticking.
You can backwards record up to 5min on xbox with the game capture but its lower quality
8:32 surely that wasn't a coincedence was it?
I love the video!
Rock blocked has plenty of places to save time
1:00 looooooooool 🤣😂
Do u get a purple relic for beating the dev time?
Yep!
For me its hard enough getting all clear gems on both normal and inverted levels. So far I've got 2 perfect relics and they are on the very first two level and 10 maybe 12 sapphire relics and 1 gold relic and they were hard enough now way will would I be able to get the TFB relics or even gold on all 38 levels
