The commentators are terrible. There's nothing "instinctive" about what they're doing. And every competitive barebow archer uses a rest and plunger. Voigt was really in a class of her own. The other women looked like beginners, not national medalists. Of the men, only Walters actually looked better.
Bowyer has got to fix her draw hand. It was just floating out there giving an inconsistent draw and no anchor point. Until she does so her shots will be all over the place. Sunkar beat her with consistency of form.
Target archery is very small in New Zealand and barebow is really just re-emerging as a recognised "target" division. So at the moment it is a very small pool. You have the choice of ignoring it or encouraging it to help it grow. Including barebow in the streamed finals does the latter.
@@starleyshelton2245 might need to do some strength training too. the arrow looks so slow that she's probably having to aim at nothing somewhere above the target face. no matter how good your technique is, having to shoot with that much drop is a huge disadvantage
You dont need to do string walking in WA barebow class. And string walking (down the string) is only used to aim deeper = if target is closer and you have heavy bow weight
Really enjoyed the video. Nice to see barebow in other parts of the world. Great job Kiwis.
Love archery!!!

I don't even know how you can call that gold medalist, but I agree that if it is new to NZ they need time to get people skilled in coaching barebow.

@@pvt.t-bone9277 They could just look at a few you tube videos and do better than that!
Is that Mike Savage in the coach's box for Regan?
yes it is he my coach
I see a lot of creeping with some of these shooters . You can almost bet they will shot low on the target .
