Who could not love this man, Colin Firth is a cut above the rest, he still manages to keep that wonderful persona and when he laughs his whole faces lights up. One of the finest actors to have come out of the UK in years. I am, and will always be, a fan of his and he just goes on from strength to strength. Hugs Colin and keep safe.
Colin Firth is one of the most graceful actor I've ever seen on screen, he acts and does everything so effortlessly it's refreshing. (Ok, may be next to Jeremy Irons XD)

If you gaze long enough into the void, Stanley Tucci gazes back at you.,
The film in question is Conspiracy, a reenactment of the Wannsee Conference. Tucci played Eichmann, Firth played Stuckart, head of the equivalent of the DOJ and co-author of the Nuremberg Laws, and Heydrich was played by Kenneth Branagh. It's well worth watching for the 'banality of evil' exhibited by all the characters. The script was based on the actual minutes of the Wannsee Conference. And by the way, today (27. January) is International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
It's been 20 years since that movie was out? Man, I feel old. Great movie btw for any who hasn't seen it. Very chilling.
I have the cd,it is extremely disturbingly for the reason how such a reserved meeting would result in the death of millions of helpless jews !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI it’s an English accent not British. Common mistake but Britain includes Scotland and Wales that have very different accents.

The only two men on the planet who ever made me question my sexuality. I'm straight,i'm perfectly fine with everybody's freedom of choice,but the bed scene,when they were huging and kissing blew my mind,i was feeling so aroused.I even asked my therapist: what should i understand about myself now? Not only they broke my heart,they also messed with my brain,but they are a delight. Two gems.
I kinda understand that but for me it was the movie Maurice. That movie has a way of creeping into your soul, not just arousing you. I still can't get over it.
oh my lord, they're the real life inspiration for Crowley and Aziraphale. Bless their ancient timeless souls. Also HOW did the director not see the perfect role assignment? You see Colin Firth, you put him in the emotionally-constipated-but-forever-bereaved-tortured-soul role, of course. I've always loved Stanley Tucci in the movies I've seen him in, even more so than the lead.
Now that was a firthy tucci.

THIS MOVIE WAS BEAUTIFUL I STAYED CRYED
I could watch these two classy yet grounded men shootin' the breeze all day long. Perfect combo of entertaining and soothing. (And I'm NOT just saying that because I've got nothing better to do.)
I just the trailer before the interview to get a sens of what they would be talking about.
I was teary eyed after the first minute...
It is lovely they took the train back to London when they could have easily hired a car.

I can barely remember whay Colin's storyline in that movie was because the only ones that stuck to me was Hugh Grant's dancing Prime Minister and Emma Thompson.
Two of my favourite film actors and it’s lovely to see my judgement of their real selves is close to the mark. It makes easy sense they’ve been friends for years.

What a random place to film!! We’ve been to that café! It’s on the roadside of the A66 as you can see, and is in literally the middle of the back end of nowhere on the northerly margin of the Yorkshire Dales.
It’s a very basic, old fashioned place. They make a lovely Egg Mayo sandwich.
How did these guys plus their film crew settle upon this out of the way location??

This was the best film I have ever seen.
The movie about Nazis Colin is referring to is, I imagine, 'Conspiracy'. A movie about how the 'Final Solution', the eradication of Jewish people, was to be implemented.
A chilling movie in which they both gave a stellar performance. I think a movie worth watching still and always, as I can still think of governments who hide atrocities and
if not that, mismanagement, behind euphemisms to hide executive wrongdoing.
I just wanted to write the very same comment.
A very chilling movie with lots of great performances from a very impressive cast. Highly recommended!

('Conspiracy' spoiler alert) G'day Seven, the role Stanley Tucci plays, at the beginning of 'Conspiracy' makes one think he's a super-efficient 'head waiter' type who, with his jacket off, is organising the catering and all the small details for this secret Nazi conference held at an old mansion in Wannsee, Berlin.
Chaired by Reinhard Heydrich, Himmler's 2iC, the meeting was to set in motion a plan where all German government departments and elements of the SS and the Army were to assist with the annihilation of Europe's Jews.
Just before Heydrich arrives Tucci's character puts on his jacket and then someone refers to him as Obersturmbannführer Eichmann.
It's a truly chilling yet magnificent script said to be based on the one surviving copy of the meeting's transcript which was, apparently, extensively edited by Adolph Eichmann. Heydrich then made the transcript's final edit before copies were distributed to the attendees. Although revealing as they were, Heydrich didn't want all the details of the 'Final Solution' to be discovered any time in the future.
Tucci brilliantly captures the deathly efficiency and total lack of empathy for Jews and any group that was in opposition to the Nazis.
It really demonstrated that Stanley Tucci is a hugely talented actor as the character he played in that film is, of course, galaxies away from what he is really like.
The same can be said for Colin Firth's and Kenneth Branagh's performances. Interestingly for most of the film Branagh, who played Heydrich, is filmed sitting down because he is significantly shorter than Heydrich who was over 6' tall.
I'd recommend this film to anyone interested in military history of that period or avid fans of these actors. Please don't go into this film expecting action on screen, there is none. It is still a devastating piece of filmmaking. Regards, Bill H.

Both are very fine actors to be sure but nobody can scream like Tucci. I have been loving him since Undercover Blues.

I'm just delighted. Two of my fav male movie stars, plus Stephen at his interviewing best. (I'm still high from seeing Viggo -- I'm catching up on the week's guest segments).
Maybe it's my age or my INFJ-ness but who needs the games, the razzle-dazzle costumes, and frenetic skits? I love this simple, split-screen format. It's more revealing and, when done well, quite entertaining. Stephen is great at impassioned monologues, but when he's in sync with his guests, there ain't nobody better. Doncha ya think?
