Bravo to you guys ! I personally went through this though not with Dementia. We were together from 1977 to 2017. I was 32 and they were 26. Dealing with the inevitable is excruciating. Seeing the love of your life slowly dissappear tears you apart. He was my lover, my confidant,, my friend. No one knew me better than he did. The final days, the hospice, is not something I would wish on anyone gay, or straight. The finality of a relationship tears you apart every day. The love never dies. I know I was loved in this life. So was he. I want and need to see this film.
you both broke my heart. And also the bed scene blew my mind. I was crying and at the same time questioning my sexuality. I mean i'm a straight 38 yrs old woman and i felt arroused by that scene. I don't know how to explain it. But the movie is a haunting masterpiece.
Great interview. I think it is hard to pick a favorite for both actors since they ARE so good consistently. I love Stanley's performance in "The Devil Wears Prada" for its bold portrayal and Colin's performance in The Girl with the Pearl Earring" for the subtlety.
Such an underrated performance, I agree. His "reality of the Jew" speech in that movie is just chilling. A more wordy part than he is used to, but he delivers so well.
Huge fan of u both, and the writers…gosh it’s so nice when we can watch literate, excellent writing…brought to life by wonderful actors! painful to see only one actor even mentioned good writing at the Oscar’s…Matthew Macfadyen…(without words, u got what?) And they make doggie doo compared to ‘talent’ also Very hard to watch a standing ovation for a man who just assaulted another person! I am a huge reader, and huge movie lover…but, truly starting to join masses who cannot stand hearing more self important speeches of actors…not to mention the insane money that a cut back would allow for far more, u know… just the bs, the private jets, just untruthful and depressing really…we’ll u know…’ the common Uber seriousness, I gained weight, lost it, ate maggots, etc. (Tho can’t help but love herzog)…this film is just amazing…it’s my life actually, and I’m grateful you all made it. Movies have changed my life, very, seriously literally, twice! So yea I know movies can be actually really important…and fun :-) thanks for the excellence of this piece of work. ❤
And Stan is talking to a 27 year old and he wants to play with him.......love it I get like that with young people too hahahahhahahaa beautiful Stanley
I seen this film when it came out. To accept the role of two gay men would be challenging as they are not. I thought it was not over sensitive and too much it hit the mark. But I thought Colin Farth was more convencing in his role than Tucci. Tucci looked uncomfortable and unable to fully commit. I never wanted to see sex scenes but at least a cuddle with a loving kiss on the lips and the words I love you, but no. The Director had said because they are friends off screen it made it easier, I don't think so not for Tucci, then I don't think he is a good actor. Loved Firth in Kings speech, a single man, and this film. Only my view what would I know.
What an amazing thing to hear two men expressing their feelings about their close friendship and love for one another. So refreshing. So beautiful.
"I think you might be overcharging."
Colin's sense of humour is wicked.😂
Man that scene in the bed was f*cking heartbreaking. I think this had one of the best portrayals of grief while the person still lives.

This was such a joy! The discussion about trying not to do things was amazing
That was such a great interview! Its wonderful to gain a behind the scenes perspective to their relationship.
The whole interview it was by far the best I've seen about a movie where Colin is. Really can't wait to see the movie 🥺👏👏
I'm so happy when Colin has Stanley in his life. He actually needs that kind of "lover" like this.
