Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 лип 2024
- In this video I demonstrate how to preform a postpartum head to toe assessment using the BUBBLE HE technique.
Follow along and study by answering these questions.
1.How could the patient describe her breasts?
2.What are the three types of nipples?
3.In what position does the bed have to be to perform a fundal check?
4.What could it mean if the fundus is above the umbilicus?
5.How often should we encourage the patient to void and why?
6.Should the postpartum patient who delivered vaginally have absent bowel sounds, why or why not?
7.Describe the three different types of lochia and which one would we expect to see on a patient who delivered four hours ago?
8.How do we assess an episiotomy?
9.What assessments other than Homan’s sign do we need to do to rule out a DVT?
10.Differentiate the Rubin’s stages.

This is hands down one of the most helpful videos I’ve watched in nursing school
Thank you 😊
I love how you don't just use phrases straight from textbooks, and you actually explain what they mean and how they would relate to real life situations. Even how you include how the bed should be oriented at each point is so helpful and practical! Thank you for this video!!!
I love that you actually give the different options for what's normal or abnormal. I know it sounds miniscule, but when you have no experience or prior knowledge of OB, it's nice to have a teacher who doesn't assume what you know! :)
I wish you were our Professor! Thank you for doing these videos because we literally have to self teach and it could be challenging with maternity being new to us. Thank you.
You’re so beautiful! You have such a positive attitude that makes me happy when I watch your videos. I’m a nursing student right now and want to be an educator one day and you inspire me!!
Thank you 😊
I love how you explained. Very grateful for this.
This is what we all needed! Thank you so much for your help!
This was SO AMAZING AND HELPFUL. You are an amazing teacher and really have a gift!! Please continue doing these, they're so amazing for a visual person like me. Thank you so much for this! ❤
I'm not in nursing school nor am I in any way shape or form medically educated but DANG I feel confident in giving someone a postpartum check up after watching this 👍
Lol great
Thank you that was really helpful. Im taking an LPN classs right now (so can start working before i finish my RN) and we just went over a head to toe assessment for mom and it was just hard to remember the focused assessment. I really needed this
Starting my practicum tonight in Mother-Baby, and this was a great review!
I absolutely love this video! I love that you were organized with your technique and explaining things that we (nurses/nursing students) need to look for or understand. I really appreciate you explaining each step in detail! You are amazing!
Thank You so much!! I was looking at this because I go to postpartum clinical tomorrow and my assignment is about "BUBBLE-HE". You explained everything so easy to understand. You rock!
Such a natural teacher, excellent
🤗
This was an excellent video! It reiterated everything I've learned in my lecture, so I could feel confident to enter my clinical rotation feeling prepared. Many times videos will add extra things I didn't learn in lecture or not include something pertinent that leaves the student more confused as to "how am I really supposed to do this?" but this video was thorough, clear, concise and direct. Extremely helpful! Every bit of information was useful. Thank you!!
Our professor assigns your videos and I love them! They’re not god awful boring, you explain things so well and in ways that flow together. Thanks!
Thank you 😊
That Nursing Prof, your Maternal and Childcare videos are heaven sent. Please continue to do MORE.
Thanks so much.
Thank you! I'm getting checked off on this tomorrow, so this really helped!
Good luck
Great and to the point video. Very helpful. Better than those nursing instructions at school.
Thank you, your videos are so helpful especially now that we are experiencing online classes and virtual duties due to the protocols of Covid-19. God bless you and your beautiful soul 💚
Thank you 😊💙this help me so much for my OSCE exam
Thank you for all the amazing videos!! Please do more videos on nursing skills and medication administration. Thanks!
So helpful! Am ready to do my postpartum HTTA on Tuesday.
This was excellent. Quite Comprehensive. Thank You :) GOD BLESS
I love this so much. You explained everything well and thoroughly. I am ready to perform my Post Partum HTT skills check off tomorrow. :) Thank you so much.
You have made me so less nervous for my maternity rotation! Thank you so much! 💗💗
I don't know if you are aware of how helpful you are. Thank you.

She's very helpful and detailed. Awesome video
This was an awesome video. Very informative. As a current nursing student I have subscribed and plan look at as many videos as I can find of you. Thank you!
I’m a postpartum RN who took 2 years off from work and will be returning soon..glad I came across this video..hope it’ll help me 🙂
Thank you so much! this is so helpful!
You just changed my life for the next few weeks.
I read a few or more comments and wanted to say: Consider going on TV for real. You have a very conversational personality and are easier to listen to. You have a talent. Use your talented personality further in your field, because there really are many monotone personalities that lose students way before the video is over. I am affiliated with media, and I really think, if you haven't already; you should consider a field in TV/radio/media besides this excellent video series you have. Forgive me if you are already affiliated with TV. I wouldn't doubt it one bit. If so, Kudos!!! You deserve it!! Very enjoyable to view you. Very informative. Very welcoming to watch and learn.
I have a test tomorrow and this video is really helpful. Thank you 😊
Thank you so much. Just discovered your videos. You're one of the best 👌
So good. Explain everything very well
Thank you for this video. Very great presentation
This video is very well done and broken down perfectly. Thanks! :)
Thank you!
My professor advised us to watch this video before writing a discussion about it. I love your videos!! All of them!! I do have to point out something though. When you mentioned that Lochia Rubra is bright red it contradicted what my prof taught us. She said that Lochia Rubra is dark red blood. That would indicate that there might be an issue with the top of the fundus. Other than that this video is AMAZING. Your amazing thank you so much
Note: Check with your hospital's policy; some hospitals don't want you to do a fundal check following a c section. Also check if your hospital's policy asks for a Homan's sign to be done. Many discourage this as the exam itself can dislodge a clot.
A boggy uterus that doesn't respond to massage means hemorrhaging is happening. Know your hospital's policy regarding this and get a grad's help with this right away. Oxytocin is usually given and deep uterine massage done. (The grad will do this.) Large clots are expelled with deep massage so you want a lot of blue pads under her bottom before starting. (You can make sure the pt is prepped.) The most important thing to remember is that if you have a boggy uterus that doesn't firm up with massage, get help right away. Don't carry on with the rest of the exam because you have something you need to deal with immediately. Also of interest, more redheads/redhead tendency are prone to hemorrhaging than anyone else, so keep a closer eye on them immediately pp.
Otherwise, Good job on the basic exam!
Signed, RN, BScN with 42 years experience.
Omg thank you!! You’re such a big help!!
Oh good. Yay!
Hello! I've watched a ton of your videos and feel bad because I've never said thank you, so THANK YOU!!! Your instruction is so clear, to the point, and relative to pretty much every single thing we need to know and understand. I really appreciate your explanations, demonstrations, and walk-through process of instruction. Have you ever considered teaching for a nursing school program? I was an elementary teacher for a short stint, and so I unintentionally pay close attention to teaching approaches, and yours is EXCELLENT!
Thank you. Yes I am a professor at a nursing college currently.
That was good. The only thing I have to add is that we don’t do the dorsal flexion for Homan’s Sign any more. Assess pedal pulses, redness, swelling, and pain/tenderness. And if you ask them, most moms say yes, they have leg pain, but it’s because they are sore from pushing, labor, etc, which is not the answer we are looking for. So I gauge their facial expressions, reaction, & movement while I examine the legs and ask if they are experiencing any unusual sensations with their legs, such as numbness, tingling, or stabbing.
You did a very good job 👏🏾, thank you
Thank you so much. I have been watching all of your videos, they are very helpful...
