Very true. The problem is that the police and legal system don't look at (or put much weight on) the reason for the action taken. So the person who comes to the rescue of the victim are viewed as violating the perpetrator's rights. So bad actors are allowed to freely harass and be overly aggressive with impunity! That's not true stop categorizing the whole NYC to a couple of A holes. Half of the people in Manhattan arent even from NYC they are tourists or transplants. But to say that the whole NYC is like this. Is just false. I'm sorry she went through that. But when you have awful leadership that's what happens.
I don't think people are aware how dangerous it is for a man to step in and defend someone in NYC. You are legally not allowed to help people in need and if you do it anyway you will end up in jail and most likely get sued. This is why crimes are so easy to commit here. Acting as a innocent bystander is the best option you got. Sad but true
Disgusting. I'm ashamed of Nyc!!! I live here and she didn't deserve this!
I'm so glad u safe thank God 🙏🙏🙏
It is illegal in NYC to be a Good Samaritan
This is normal. It's called the bystander effect and is part of human evolutionary behavior. Look it up.
@@irrelevant2235
what are you a bot that just repeats? reported for your stupidity
Penny is on trial for murder right now for being a Good Samaritan
Moral of the story. Don’t go to NYC
NYC was a great place to live and visit 10 years ago. Now it's neither
the saddest part is if she defends herself, she gets harm for hurting a mental health patient or some other legal loop, buddy was looking for a payday, avoid NY or CA
She should describe what the man looked like. This trend of protecting criminals, it's absurd.
I am absolutely disgusted that in the beginning, nobody did anything to help you in that big crowd. 😢 while I'm in my middle-aged years I still would not of, could not of just stood by with any woman being harassed and assaulted. Truly disappointed in that. But so glad you are ok.
No excuse if someone needs help you help! Especially 50 people around and not one person helps sad.
Very nyc. No one helps you in nyc
That’s NYC culture. This type of thing happens every day. It’s only being talked about now because it happened to someone who’s semi famous.
@@pennytrue2741yes cause the marine who protected women on the subway is now being charged with manslaughter. NY laws protect criminals and punish heroes.
@@HonoriajoyThis happens to anyone, not just so called famous people.

Run in the bathroom and CALL 911 or the cops!!
He would easily have broken that door. And Imagine there is no cellphone signal in the bathroom?
This is legal in NYC
@@stephanie-fh5qv Of course, assuming he doesn’t know she’s in the bathroom…
No! She did the thing.
So glad you are safe ❤
Thats why you need security
Unfortunately incidents like this happen in large cities in the northeast. I definitely had some incidents with weirdos in my college and post college days in the city. Although I wasn’t followed for nearly as long. The worst was when some guy told me to get into his car.. 😮
Firstly, I’m sorry for this incident. Walk ‘with’ someone, a guy/bodyguard/ your Dad!!!
What has the world come to if every day women now need BODYGUARDS to walk in a crowded street?? This is madness.
@@jgp1294 Yes, I agree, but I’m NOT referring to ‘any women’ in general.., but more to a ‘celebrity’ like her. Don’t walk alone.
@@jgp1294 every woman always used to walk with a man....what has the world came to that that isn’t the case?
@@jgp1294 Thats super sexist to even assume a woman needs a bodygaurd, Womana are more than capable of defending themselves and most are strong powerful independent woman.

Wow that's scarey glad sistine is okay
do these women even have boyfriends?
Sistine, I’m so glad you survived that crazy man’s attacks! Former 2nd Generation Seal Team 1 member here. I wish I could have been there for you. Well maybe not because it wouldn’t have ended well for that lunatic! I wasn’t trained to compete, we were trained to kill our enemies! 😱 If I get “tweaked” by a life threatening situation. Without even thinking about it, I could immediately respond with a spontaneous deadly physical force! 😱🫡 I still train every day and go through the techniques that can subdue, stop an attacker in his tracks! My best wishes for you Sistine and your Dad, Mom and Sisters! 👍🏽❤️🫡
No, I don’t understand it. Any grown man or woman who saw this should have intervened! This is one of the many things wrong with society now.
Not just women. My buddy got harrassed in the Subway. New York will give your stalker a ticket and let him go.
People are WARPED.
Especially after the pandemic, this doesn't even surprise me that this happened. Sad
"Around 50 people next to me and no-one helped"
I'm Alvin Bragg and I approve this message.
Nobody on the street bothered to step in? I wouldn’t be able to ignore an incident like this
Didn’t Moranis and Buscemi get sucker punched in NY?
Its womens job to protect themselves

Born & Raised in NYC, The lawlessness and decline lately is a disgrace, people like DA Alvin Bragg have destroyed the safety of the city.
They care more about building their careers and doing the bidding of the special interests.
They certainly don’t care about the citizens, it’s appalling to see this level of corruption, time for a change.
A lot of females in NY have been attacked by aggressive guys. It is so scay. She is so brave and I hope she recovers from the trauma of this psychotic perpetrator.
I read about this incident about 2 weeks ago and first thing that came to mind was why she doesn't have security. Her father is worth north of $400 million and she's walking around a crime ridden city with no security.
She is not famous. So why should she
@@davidc4408 Because her her father is worth a little more than $400 million.
@@louiehernandez1477 does not matter. Is not her money or her fame. 99.9% will not know her. Jer own networth is less than $5m

I'm sorry this happened to you I'm glad you're okay from one of your biggest fans of your family
The courts never keep predators locked up
Whoa that’s scary glad she’s ok ❤
I'm glad she's ok!
I’m glad she’s ok but nobody should be wearing headsets in nyc. Ive grown up in ny and just assumed this is common knowledge. Always be aware of your surroundings and what is happening around you. If you want to keep one ear bud off and the other on, do that. I’ve seen people with headphones walk into the street in front of moving cars, or not be aware of a biker heading straight towards them. Not to mention being mugged or attacked from behind. Just be aware.
Why would a bystander help her? Daniel Penny is on trial for murder for trying to protect fellow passengers in a similar situation.
Happens everyday in NYC. Too many rich sheltered people can’t cope with reality
They don’t care until it happens to them.
That’s NY for you!…I’m not surprised and it’s too bad she went through that!…😢
LEAVE YOUR HEADPHONES IN, DON'T PLAY ANY AUDIO SO YOU ARE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS.
PRETEND TO BE ON A CALL IF SOMEONE CRAZY APPROACHES YOU.
New York has a brand
WOW Thanks for sharing
This happens everyday in NYC. Her tips don't really work, they will hit you from behind for no reason.
Where someone gets involved in NYC, they end up getting arrested.
I noticed from videos and stories that there could be 25,000 people around, nobody in NYC will do anything. They will keep doing their own thing as if you're not even there, and it does not matter what is happening.
Always be as aware of your surroundings as possible. And, walk as if you're ready to respond if someone were to try anything.
That goes for any city be aware and stop wearing headphones. You run into people , cars etc . Pay attention. This is too random .
Unfortunate situation and I am glad your safe !
Rambo needs to have a little talk with this guy
Yep
That sounds so so scary. I'm glad she was OK. Never let your guard down.
Sistine (after the Sistine Chapel) is such a cool name. Unfortunately most women have had an experience like this. Especially in NYC. I have.
NY prosecutes bystanders who help.
Its a scary story to hear, but as a men in todays age its difficult to even help or talk to a women. You don't know if its a prank video or OF promotion vidoe or social media video. And if you get involved you get punished for it eithet way.
You get people who run into a fire and people who run away from it. It's the same when someone who is in trouble. We are the type of people who run in and I'm so sorry this happened to you. Afterwards , when you reflect on what happened the fact no one helped you really affects you too. People suck!
you shouldnt assume she needs help thats super sexist.
Get a body guard.
😢thank God she is ok. We need to get her dad rocky take care of him
If you are a celebrity -> never walk ALONE!! Take some karate lessons/self-defense.
They have gotten self defense class it's shown on their reality show

Hochul and Adams don’t care. Our city needs the avengers or justice league at this point.
Unbelievable! Is it ever going to get better!! So happy that she is alright ♥️
Where is your Mace? Get some!
In Atlanta about 20 years ago a woman maced a guy who was harassing her and he pulled out a gun and shot and killed her. So NO.
It’s illegal to carry mace in NYC. This city is extremely dangerous not only for assaults themselves, but the fact that you aren’t allowed to defend yourself.
@@heatherchandler1184 the problem is there's been women who maced men that weren't harassers, and on some of those rare occassiosn those innocent men were seriously hurt by the mace, whether eye damage, and serious allergic reaction. Few years ago I was walking in Brooklyn Bridge Park, and two black women were acting suspicious around me, and one of them pulled out an electric tazer and kept playing with it, and sparks almost hit me, and a white man's children, who were playing in the park. The white man went to check on me, and asked me if I wanted to call police on them. I chose not to because police would've did nothing. When it comes to abusive women, and racism, they don't take those crimes seriously, if your a black man reporting.

How weird. She never once asked for help from strangers that were on the street.
Yes ! As she was running why she scream out that the guy on the bicycle is chasing me. They will knock

Wait, so she left without talking to the police, or did i misunderstand what she meant?

Never wear earbuds in the street. You must stay aware. When you recognize a threat you must be aware of their movements and act accordingly. I grew up in the Bronx aarmmmat is SOP.

I will never understand people not doing anything!
If many people go together and someone calls the cops, this could have been stopped earlier! All over the world people need to protect eachother!

It's a Democrat run city. If someone were to help, they would be arrested and charged, and the guy would be let go in an hour. That's why.
