    Well done, I've never seen anyone so organised on the bank, and a very smart turn out as well.

      Hi, the biggest was around 6-7 kg and when I pull it to the shore and tried to remove the treble I saw another rusty treble stuck into it's top jaw. It's a big treble and I doubt it's from a lure, so probably someone was doing dead bait or live a while ago and not secured the rig properly. I don't do silver fish there but there is definitely some big bream there. Watch this video - 2 large keepnets full of bream caught ua-cam.com/video/Ipm2m2WTi8Y/v-deo.html
      Normally people fish there for carp and pike but it is not ideal fishing location as there is a massive traffic of people walking around and a lot of dogs. Unless you go sometimes between July and October when water levels are low so you can have some space in the beach, otherwise water is right where the footpath goes, there is not really any space for angler to sit. There is also some construction work going there for Commmonwealth games a guess. The footpath now is made from what it looks like asphalt or something like that and some shores reinforced with large stones and ground to keep up with wet season floods

    I've tried fishing there a few times with lures, only caught baby pike. Any tips for catching bigger ones?

    • @wildtado4954
      @wildtado4954  4 роки тому

      Try bigger lures, like at least 14 cm, best with pike print as they are legal cannibals. Normally biggest pikes are feeding early in the morning. Also if you could find big shoals of large bream or roach - that's where your big pike will be patrolling. Easier said than done. I had many sessions with absolutely nothing so sometimes at least a baby pike is good to make the day

    If you want a hard place to fish in Birmingham go to lifford lake , huge carp and pike , but notoriously hard to catch !!

      Hello, the best fishing spot in my opinion is the one with least people around you. Since fishing meant to be relaxing and not annoying or distracting you. It is a rare thing that an angler will tell publicly a good fishing spot because then it no longer be a good fishing spot but in general Birmingham canals are good places to fish in the city. You can catch some silver fish and pikes where boats mooring. It's good to try same spot several times since most people don't catch anything at the first session an assume it's a bad fishing spot. It is good to explore new waters by spinning the first time. This way you can cover great distances fishing and looking for good spots to come back for feeder or float fishing

      WILD TADO how much does it cost to fish at edgbaston

    • @wildtado4954

      @@Shiesty-420- As for 2019, September here is the information I have given by Birmingham City Council and Sutton Park: To fish in Edgbaston reservoir cost £10/day. Angler should have £10 ready during his/her fishing session to pay the ranger for day ticket (Request ranger's ID)
      Another option is to buy annual ticket which cost £100/year. With this ticket you can fish in 14 Birmingham Parks including Sutton park pools. You would need to get this ticket from Sutton park office. It might be other places issuing these permits too.
      In conclusion: There is very little or outdated information online. The best is always call the council to check the latest information yourself
