This is the problem I’ve got with my MacBook (A1278) right now - no water damage - shining a light through the apple logo and I can see the desktop/login screen... where can I source a replacement fuse?
It's the amp rating. N is 2amp, P is 3amp. Both are fairly overrated I think, the important thing is that either will blow if there's a short circuit on the backlight rail.
Hello, Greate Video Thank you, but I have a question after I replaced the fuse the backlight worked but I am just getting blank white screen what could be the issue here?
Unplug the HDD and leave it on for a minute or two to see if you get a flashing question mark folder. If you see that, then the display is working but you have a boot issue. If you don't see the ?Folder then there's still an issue with the display. You'd need to try a different display to see if it's the display itself or the logic board.
Hey Sir Is there more then one fuse on the logic board marked “p” because I have an A1268 late 2011 and want to make sure I’m swapping out the right fuse. P.s I don’t have schematics trying to do it on the cheap lol
It's pretty embarrassing to see you solving these board issues with just a DMM. Well, OK, that and a soldering iron, hot air, schematic, BoardOpenView, and your knowledge. But, still, minimal equipment. Well done. I am enjoying the embarrassment. As a side note, it has been my experience that some MacBooks, which are engineered well, seem to have a weakness when it comes to the backlight fuse. If a user, and very many do, always has the brightness setting on FULL, I see more fuses blown. I always recommend they run the brightness 1-to-2 bumps down. Of course, though, that's not as good for business.
I have spent a lot of time watching people who already have the fancy equipment and figuring out the cheapest way to replicate their methods! It bears mention though, better equipment will always make your life easier - I'm just cheap ;) And yea. I wouldn't mind something as trivial as a fuse blowing too easily, were it not for the fact that Apple [and the industry] keep gas-lighting everyone to believe that nothing can be fixed and that it's your fault.
Where do I get a new fuse?
Are you doing your repairs with the naked eye? If so, very impressive.
nice video. can u tell me the short cuts that you use at the end for the brightness please.thank you
Love the awesome videos that you are doing
I just popped my 2012 pros back light fuse because I forgot to unhook the battery.
I was just trying to tighten up a hinge.
Hi i have similar issue, my lcd laptop can’t display. Where i can get the fuse
can a bridge be made if we don't have the fuse?
Where can i buy that small fuse?
Thank you my brother! i hope u keep doing....
But the back light fuse was short to ground?
What would you do if you had a backlight fuse that wasn’t blown
soooooo, in other words, that key combo turns on pc without touching power on button? Is it okay to use key combo if power button is broken?
amazing solution mate, would simply shorting the fuse work in case if the fuse couldn't be fund easily
It would work, yes, but I wouldn't advise it, because if something happens again while there's no fuse, the damage will be a lot worse.
@@Adamant_ITat the end u just pressed the command R keybind right?

I am having the same issue with mine. It appears that my "P" fuse is good, but I still have to shine a light through the rear to see the login screen.
My fuse is gone - there's nothing there at all! I need a fuse.
Hello, thank you, great playlist, i see you put an N fuse instead of P it's the same ?

@@Adamant_IT Thank you! Both are 32V ?
Yup 👍
@@Adamant_IT Because of you I have now taken some laptops to fix. Thanks so much! Keep it up, excellent guides!
Another great video! Do you have any recommendations on where to source basic SMD components to have on hand (fuses, for example)?
Same question i always ask but i get no answer
Can i use some other fuse in replacement of f9700 ??

Fairly sure the board featured in this video is from an A1268 (820-3115), so you should find the backlight fuse exactly where it is in this vid!
Adamant IT thank you for your speedy response sir love the vid by the way super informative
How much does it cost to do this kind of job??
Great video! I got my 2013 macbook pro back up to speed!
fantastic... what kind of fuse is typically used for this?
2a 32v SMD
Hi sir, I've been searching the internet on where to purchase a backlight fuse. Could you help me out on where I can purchase them.
Try searching ebay for 32v SMD fuse, size code is 0603
@@Adamant_IT Legend! Thank you for the video and the fuse part info

Always unplug the battery when working on anything electrical please
