    I found it to be a damn fine film! Watching the previous 4 films and then watching this film you really understand the life of Indiana Jones from 1912 to 1969 and you see all his ups and downs and by this movie you see where hes come from... It's very good action but not as memorable as the previous films... I've only seen it 2 times so far but overall it's pretty kick ass and enjoyable

    I think what I really respect about this is that the ending was such a swing for the fences. I think the temptation would be to play it safe with this, after the last one wasn’t received well, but they decided to go all out, and I think that’s really cool.

      I feel like that’s where Helena’s annoyance kinda peaked in the film and she started getting better after that bit, but I get you, they really need to take a moment there. • @trapsenpaii
    @trapsenpaii 7 місяців тому

    I feel like Dial of Destiny missed a trick in reintroducing Short-Round as Indy's like "first son" especially after the loss of Mutt and have Helena's connection through Short-Round vs introducing an unnamed, unmentioned, unseen goddaughter. She can still be the focus but it would've been great to have Ke Huy Quan back in the franchise and I think the film would've resonated more especially hearing that he has to come back home to his time from someone who saw him as a hero and go from defiler of history to protector of man would've been a nice send off for Harrison Ford while breathing life into a new chapter of the franchise.

I didn't really go into it with any expectations bad or good, and I enjoyed it and thought it avoided some issues I was afraid a project like this would have. I think the reason DOD isn't doing great is actually Tomb Raider. Indy never had the power to make new fans the way Star Wars did, so most of the people who loved the originals are people who saw them at the time. These are not movies you get your kids to watch growing up or anything.
    Add to that the fact that in the late 90s and early 2000s Lara Croft was bigger then Indy EVER was (in more ways then one amiright), there is a large group of people looking at this and thinking "I saw the Tomb Raider movies and the sucked, why would I go see a knock-off?"

    Am I the only one who liked the Mutt character? I thought Shia was solid in that role with what they gave him. The Tarzan moment was stupid but that's not his fault

    Indy wasn't de aged. Young ford is a CGI construction. Mads was de aged but Ford was CG over a stunt double.

    The amount of vicious hate Phoebe Waller-Bridge is getting is absolutely ridiculous. She was good and at no point did it feel like she was put in to undermine the Indy character

    I finally just watched new Indiana Jones and I'm really surprised it did so bad at the movies. This was way better than old ass Harrison Ford Indy has any reason to be. Krystal Skull screwed the pooch so bad I think this had no chance.

    How insane do you have to be to think that this movie would really end with some random lady replacing a beloved icon in all of his movies? I swear these people act like they are in a cult with how easily they believe bullshit.

    I think the franchise just lost a lot of goodwill on Crystal Skull. Top Gun Maverick worked because it wasn't after a disappointing revival move that had already happened. If Crystal Skull hadn't happened I think this could have had the Top Gun Maverick impact they were looking for. But they'd already cashed that cheque in.

    So, I think they have a good point about the lack of Indiana Jones media, resulting in a lack of awareness.
    So, how about, Indiana Jones in the style of Red Dead Redemption.

    It is hilarious listening to the cope about how well this was received after listening to the very next episode where maso tries to talk up it’s performance and it all becomes painfully obvious that this was a bomb and those people who annoy them so much were smugly right.
    Who cares, one more dead property.
    Hopefully after everything is handled so poorly nostalgia becomes poisoned apathy and we get some new shit.

    best movie ever... I mean statements like that, are bollocks. And frankly from other critics I trust more, it sounds like it's a slog, the action goes too far, and maybe this is more about finding the Indy formula rather than making just a good movie.
