In this video I’m testing different paint brands with the Australian Floetrol to use as cell activators. The paint brands I used were all ones I currently had in my studio so if there are other brands you are wondering about I encourage you to give them a test. At some point I will also do another video like this with the US Floetrol cell activator recipe I use. I hope this video is helpful and inspiring for you and you enjoy watching this half as much as I enjoyed creating it! 😊 Thanks so much for watching! ❤️❤️
A lot of what you see being created on my channel when ready will end up in my Etsy store. Some pieces if they translate well to digital will also make it to my RedBubble and Society6 shops so if you see a design you like please check out my links below.👇🏻😊💜

Thank you Jodie! You did that awesomely! You are a Treasure! 💎 As I watched each test, I thought the black, no matter the brand turned out beautiful. I am very partial to dark CA's. I think white's look too much like lightening which is not so appealing to me. Just me. I've used Payne's Gray, Prussian Blue, Diox Purple. Diox Purple seems to always work, no matter the brand. I have so many different brands and SO many colors in each brand, one would think I'm a professional painter. I haven't even used most of them. I can't seem to stop myself. It's an addiction. I love your work. Your tutorials are spot on. Again... you are Treasure Chest full of Gems! 🧰💎💎💎Thank you sweet lady who you are! 😘🙏😍😊🐇💓
Aww you’re very welcome Bunny, thank YOU so much! I’m more partial to the darker CAs myself they just respond differently or even using white with another color too! I also know what you mean about having too much paint .. not sure there’s such thing as too much haha! But I always seem to get more when I haven’t even touched some of my other paint 😂😃💜
You ladies are not alone in collecting!!! Funny story... when I first started this habit, I had made a list that I kept ongoing and adding to, of all the things that I wanted as time went on... and as it did, I would even buy things that weren't on there if I found a good deal and thought I would like them. Well, the other day I found that list, and let's just say I went thru it expecting to still have a bunch of things left that I had forgotten about. And that just wasn't the case lol!!! My addiction to painting products has gotten so bad that I have more than I can probably ever use. Now I need a whole new extension added to the house to have space for all this stuff that has taken over, and have room to work. Who needs a kitchen and dining room anyways lol!!!
@@aandrews9141 Ha!! I totally get it and glad we’re not alone though I have a sneaking suspicion this art form is really just to blame! 😂
I tried half U.S. Floetrol with half AUSSIE Floetrol just to try and extend the more costly Aussie Floetrol and it worked just fine. Thank you for showing us all the other paints that work to.
That’s so awesome Michele, what a great idea! I think I’m going to have to experiment with that myself! 😃😃💜
I think so many people have been asking the same question and I'm so glad you covered it all in this video, everyone hates to experiment "except you" - thank you for all your hard work !!
Oh my goodness! Whether you intended it or not, this is the PERFECT tutorial for how to blow out a bloom!!! After watching this video all the way through I was finally able to blow out a great one! Thank you thank you for being so kind and helpful!
Oh wow Beth, I didn’t even think of it that way but I’m so glad it helped you with your blowing!! That’s so awesome! Yay!! 😃😃💜💜
I would buy a copy of your notebook of experiments! Thank you for doing these 🙂
Ha! That’s awesome! I really should be writing this stuff down! ... in all seriousness, I’m just glad they are captured in video .. thanks so much Deanna! 🥰
Thank you for going to such incredible trouble to source the products and do such thorough research to share. Amazing results! 👍👏😁
You’re very welcome Marlynda, thank YOU!! ☺️💜
The sheer amount of knowledge to be gleaned from this video is....immense!
Wow Jodie. Your scientific method is extremely helpful (speaking for myself only) for someone who is just starting out and is a bit overwhelmed with the logistics involved in learning how to do this method. Even down to seeing that using tiles to do my own experiments or trying to duplicate some of yours, seems to be a fairly low cost and effective media to use and now I'm adding some tiles to my next home depot delivery. 😁
Thank you so much for doing videos like these....your generosity and knowledge is GREATLY appreciated! 🙏🖖
You are so very welcome Michael, I’m really glad it helps you to understand 😃. Tiles are the best to learn on and super cheap at both Home Depot and Lowe’s you can get a box of 90-100 for $13-$15 AND after you let them dry you can soak them in a bucket of water to remove the paint to reuse. I haven’t tried this yet but I know others that do this and I have a pile of tiles to test this. ☺️
@@ThePaintedDreamer I was thinking that you could resin them and cork the back and use as coasters or attach them in an array of 9 or so, to another canvas and then frame the whole thing....if of course, they come out to be worth keeping. 😁🤭
Totally!! I dig your idea about having 9 together in a frame. I love making tiles but I’ve found my environment doesn’t allow proper cure for heat resistance so I’ve stepped away from doing coasters right now. It pains me but necessary as I’d absolutely hate for someone to have a set and put a hot mug on it and it leaves a ring ugh! Oh well! 😊
@@ThePaintedDreamer yeah, that would not be cool. I don't understand the logistics yet, behind "properly curing for heat resistance" but I'm sure I'll learn. 😁
@@MichaelEgan66 You will, whichever one you settle on using usually the website has tips, curing times and all that but one step at a time! :)
Thank you Jodi for all the time you spent. 😍
Aww you’re welcome Kathleen 🤗 I’m so glad it helped 💜
This just proves to me it is more about the right blow. You are a master.
Well it’s definitely the right blow but also your CA mix, thanks so much Sharon! ☺️💜
You are a beautiful person taking the time to teach us... there is so much information out there to be learned...thank you for sharing...
You’re so very welcome, Savannah, thank you so much for the kind words! 🤗💜💜
Th and you very much for going through it all to help us I'm sure everyone who watched this video appreciates you effort and your time doing this video Loved it Thank youxx
You’re so very welcome, Clasina, thank you so much for saying that I really appreciate that 🤗🤗💜
You are a good teacher, I learned why sometimes my CA disappears and the importance of letting the paint come back up before spinning. I don't know if you did all of these at one time but if you did, you gave your lungs a great work out. Thank you for all the testing you do as it takes time and money to do that and it is much appreciated.
You’re very welcome Janice, and thank YOU!! I had to break it up into a few sessions in order to get these all done whew, that would have been something doing them all at once haha! 😃💜💜
You are so patient and kind to do this. Thank you. I learned alot. Love the straw blowing. Thanks a million 🧡🧡🧡🧡
You’re very welcome Lynn, thank YOU!! 🥰
It's people like you doing these experiments that helps so many artists along their journey in this type of art. You are an awesome artist and I love all your work. Thank you for you time and effort to help us out. 💖
You’re very welcome, Joyce! Thank you so much for the kind words, I just want everyone to be able to create 🥰
Great info Jodie! Love it when you are in mad scientist mode. It is so good for the painting community! 🙏💝
Thanks Sherry!! You know I love to experiment and share, I can’t not do that haha! 🥰
As always helpful Jodie. Thank you for all the hard work you put into testing products.
Awesome, I’m so glad it was helpful Cathy! Thank you so much!! 🥰
Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together and share it with all of us. i have learned quite a bit from this video. Your awesome!!!
You are very welcome, thank YOU!! 😃💜
As soon as you started blowing out the last one I thought “Ewww. She’s not going to like that one.” LOL! So glad to know there are viable options to Amsterdam. Thank you Professor for your valuable time. 😄
Haha! You know it, I was not digging that one at all 😂 .. and you’re very welcome 🥰🥰
Great job! Your insight to try all these things are just fantastic. Just started paint pouring and your testing has helped me quite a bit, thank you so much!!!!! You are very talented and I appreciate your kindness of helping all of us.
It’s my pleasure Gail, you are so welcome, thank YOU!! 💜💜
Hi Jodie, what a fantastic video. What a great experiment, it's interesting to see what brand does what. I love them all, they are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing your time, talent and your creativity with us. Looking forward to your next video, kind regards Pamela 😘❤💕
Thanks so much Pamela! I was pleasantly surprised by this experiment and pretty excited for more options! 😃😃💜💜
You're very welcome Jodie, yes it was interesting to see. I live in Australia, I have a store called Aldi. And from time to time they bring into the store art supplies, which are German made supplies. I use their paints for fluid art, fine art, and the bloom technique, and use them for the CA. Which I get great results, for 100 mls I only pay a $1. When they bring their art supplies in I'm the first one at the door, and I leave the store with my trolley over flowing 🤣 lol 😘❤❤
@@pamelalovesart852 oh my gosh that’s so awesome!! I would be doing the same thing! I had a dream recently that I was visiting Australia and the first thing I did was go to the hardware store to get all the good supplies 😂😂😂 .. I woke up like aww man 😂. But I’m continually amazed when I discover new products or things that work here, then of course I hoard them .. a little 😃😂💜
Hahaha 🤣 if you love the heat you would enjoy it out here, if you ever get out this way it is a beautiful country. And you're more than welcome to visit me, that is if your in my suburb of course🤣 lol. Yes I'm a hoarder when it comes to art supplies, see I would think your country has better art supplies, hardware stores, and art stores. Also I think your supplies are cheaper, and you have much more of a variety 😘❤❤
@@pamelalovesart852 I would absolutely love to visit Australia some day! It’s at the top of my list 😊 ... I’m in a suburb of Chicago so I do have a pretty good selection of art stores and hardware stores (hence all my testing haha!) but the one thing I don’t have that Aussie gold the Floetrol locally. I still think there’s an equivalent here somewhere I just haven’t found it or figured it out yet ... yet heheee. It’s what I love best about this technique though, the variety 🥰
Thank you for doing these experiments for us! I was glad to see some paints i have did well!
You’re very welcome Teri! 😃💜💜
Love the sciencey part of painting.... thanks for sharing this!!!
Me too!! I can’t help myself haha!! 😃💜
Thanks Jodi for all your hard work I'm very surprised in a lot of them that they work so well thank you honey for your time and trouble
Great job, Jodie!! Yeah, Hobby Lobby discontinued the Fine Touch acrylic paints. The replacement line, in the same type of jars, is called Master's Touch Liquid Acrylic. I'm not too keen on them, but maybe that's just me. Anyway, thank you so much for all your hard work on behalf of all of us! You just make it look so dang easy! And, of course, I can't wait to see your next video! XOXO
You’re very welcome Donna, thank YOU so much!! Ahhh I didn’t know they discontinued the fine touch line, good thing it didn’t work well! I do like the regular Masters touch paints though and that black I used whoa, I was impressed. I’ll steer away from their new product though have enough to work with 😂😂 .. thanks so much Donna! 🥰
This is really useful, thank you for taking the time to do it and show us 💕
You’re so welcome Steve! 😃🤗💜🌺
This video was awesome! I was really surprised at how the Blickcrylic reacted! Thank you for taking the time to do all of these experiments and share with the rest of us!
You’re so welcome Chassidy, thank YOU!! I was surprised by that blickrylic too! It was my favorite out of the bunch .. I have a fluorescent violet by them also I may have to see if that works too!
@@ThePaintedDreamer I agree! The Blickcryilc celled up immediately. Ooooh! I can't wait to see the fluorescent violet!!!
@@ThePaintedDreamer I LOVE their Fluorescent Violet. The Blick Economy line if paints are much cheaper, but I do still feel like they are a good paint, due to them being made with their own brand of Acrylic Polymer, which I honestly feel like is just as great as Liquitex Gloss Varnish... just my opinion though lol. But I have a feeling that is why they worked so well, that along with the viscosity of it being a not to thick yet not too thin paint as well. I have come to like all of the Blick brand stuff lol.
@@aandrews9141 oh awesome! Good to know! I only have those 3 colors but I plan to get more 😃
Thank you so much for putting in so much time and effort - very informative. Glad there were some paint brands that I can get here.
You’re very welcome, Sushila, thank YOU! And I’m so glad it helped ☺️

You’re very welcome, thank YOU so much!! 🥰🌺
Such a great informative video! Thanks so much for all the time and work you put in!!
You’re very welcome, thank YOU!! ☺️
Thanks for doing this Jodie! I’ve always wanted to know about different brands for CA!
You’re very welcome Susan! I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile and I think the consensus is that most paints will work with the Aussie floetrol. 😃💜
My pup loves the calming music, it’s good to comb him out while I watch ya, are u part Cajun , lol I am in spirit
Thank u, u know ur chit, really
Winner winner chicken dinner
Awww I love it that your pup loves the music 🤗. I’m not part Cajun, not that I’m aware of, but I got winner winner chicken dinner from watching too many diners, drive-ins and dives with Guy Fieri 🤣
Go for it Jodieeee, u ROCK
🤗 Thanks Kimmer 💜💜
Very helpful. I think the best thing is that you’ve shown that most things work. People just want to try product after product when really what they need to do is just practice and develop their technique. Could you take a picture of them all together or maybe all the white and all the black. Being a very visual person, I need the side-by-side comparisons to help my brain. Thanks. Great job!
Yes that’s it!! I’m so glad you said that Rebecca. Practicing and developing the technique is absolutely essential, and most things DO work so stick with what you have and practice, then buy more 😃 .. I can absolutely take a pic of all the white CA tiles then all the black. I’ll try to get it all in one image too but not sure if I’ll be successful! ☺️
Hi Rebecca - I’ve put two posts on this with pics of the dried results together on my channel in the community tab. If you click on each image it will expand to show you the whole thing. I did one for all the white and one for all the black/gray.
@@ThePaintedDreamer Thanks!!!! I'm going to take a look now!!
This was great Jodie, it's good to know there is a lot to choose from! Really looking forward to the US Floetrol video! I've been trying US Flo with paint at 4-5 : 1 and it works decently.
Awesome, I’m so glad Robyn! I’ll definitely do one with the US floetrol too! I have a couple things I want to try with the US floetrol as well, we’ll see what comes of it! 😃💜
This was awesome, Jodie. We’re you light headed after doing all that blowing? Ha ha. 🎶💞🎶. Hugs
Thanks so much Jan! Haha! Had I done them all at once I definitely would have been but I had to break it up for that very reason, it was actually done in 3 parts 😃💜
Such a helpful video!! I just did a massive test of non-Aussie cell activators. But I also got a jug of Aussie floetrol for Christmas and I can’t wait to try it! I was definitely wondering if Amsterdam paint was necessary for the cell activator so I’m happy to see that less expensive brands can work too 😃
I’m so glad it helped Anna! There are a lot of brands that can work with the Aussie sauce but Amsterdam has always been the golden standard, I don’t know what’s in it but it’s just super celly as it also works amazing with the US floetrol but other brands can certainly work 🤗 Have so much fun my dear! 💜
@@ThePaintedDreamer Thanks!
Yes Jodie please do this with the US Floetrol...would love to see that. Australian floetrol is too expensive. I have been wondering if other paints and colors would work as a cell activator..but with US floetrol. Love your experimentation videos.
I totally will Brenda I promise, just give me a little bit for that one ☺️ .. thank you so much!!! 💜💜
@@ThePaintedDreamer Definitely, I will keep watch on my notification section. Keep up the good work ....I just love your color combinations. I even try to copy..but my lacing from my cell activator is ok...but can't quite get it to cover my whole piece.
You're so awesome Jodie! I've learned so much from you! Thank you!
I got really good results with creative inspirations titanium white and lamp black as CA with US floetrol. I also used the CI gloss medium and varnish with kilz untinted and polycrylic as a PM and though I need to play with the ratios a little bit, I was very happy with the results!
Was hoping to get your feedback on a few things.
I would like to get some golden paints and tossing up the high flow or the fluid. Would you recommend one over the other?
I'm not sure if you can answer this one, but do you have a preference over primary elements pigments or TLP's?
I've been wanting PE's for a long time, that snapdragon is amazing.. But TLP's are also gorgeous.. I can't decide.
@@MyMojosRisin Hi Diane, you’re very welcome and thank YOU! That’s so awesome you’ve discovered your own PM that works well 😃. For the Golden paints the fluid works well in most PMs as it still has a little bit of body to it. The high flow is about the equivalent of acrylic ink, it’s almost water like so very thin. If your PM mix is thinner I would probably opt for the fluid paints but if it is pretty thick then you could get away with the high flow. For the pigments I absolutely love both the primary elements and the TLPs, if you are able to get a little of both then get a couple of each, you won’t be disappointed. If you can only get one I would lean more towards the TLPs because you get more for the money there. Hope this helps! 😃💜
So very helpful! Thank you! I'm going to go with the tlps so I can snag some of that sweet aussie flo! 😂 Thank you immensely Jodie!
Awesome Jodie!
Thanks Mandy!! 🥰
Thank you Jodi so informative .
You’re welcome Evelyn, I’m glad it helped 🥰
Great experiment! Good to know!
Thanks Debbie!! I’m glad it was helpful ☺️
Thanks for sharing all of this!
You’re very welcome!! ☺️💜
I was looking for the best brand of gold for a CA and I know metallics aren't good, I was going to use Deco art gold 24-karat but it's metallic. I enjoyed this video I'm sure you've got an updated one by now but I think they all turned out pretty well with the exception of a couple the fine touch. So thanks for sharing . ❤❤❤
I’m so glad this video helped and you enjoyed it! I have used the pebeo gold, the Amsterdam gold and the atelier interactive gold and they all work. What I currently use is a 50/50 mix of two golds, the pebeo and the atelier mixed with Aussie floetrol 🤗
A very great job. Thank you.
You’re very welcome Diane, thank YOU! ☺️💜
This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you!
You’re welcome Karen, I’m glad it helped 🤗
Well done my friend: too much to mix he!
I'm quite certain this is beneficial to a lot of colleagues in the art arena.
Thank you for all your efforts & time🙏🏽💞💞💞💞💞💞
Thank you so much my friend! 🥰 .. I’ll say after I mixed all that my hand hurt for about a day haha!! Totally worth it though! 💜💜
@@ThePaintedDreamer ❤️❤️❤️
wow! that was a lot of work!!! I don’t feel so badly about the amount of paint that I have amassed at home now. LOL. As I have not yet tried this technique (getting ready to pull the trigger) it was very interesting to hear and see what you were looking for in the lacing. Great, Great Tips. THX
You’re very welcome Kim, I’m glad it helped! Yea don’t feel bad about the amount of paint haha!! I may or may not be a paint hoarder 😂 and I know I’m not the only one 🤗💜
Yes I love it 😀
Thank you Camille! 🥰
Very helpful thank you
Thank you for trying this. Very nice video. Can you please do a video on which colored CA work best.
Thanks so much Priyanka! 🥰
Thanks for the fantastic content…🙏✌️
You’re welcome Paul! 🤗🌺
Thanks so much for doing these experiments. They are really useful 👍I am still new to the bloom technique so my question may sound stupid, but I will ask it anyway: as soon as the paint used in the cell activator is an opaque, can other colors (other than black or white) be used? How about metallics, or a mixture of an opaque with a metallic? Just curious. Again, your chanel is excellent! I look forward to get notifications about your new videos every week. Much appreciated 🙏
You’re very welcome, thank YOU! There are no stupid questions in painting ☺️ .. you can absolutely use other color paints for CA besides just black and white. I’ve experimented in past videos using Amsterdam color paints and they were successful. The Amsterdam paint line was always known to be good for the CA no matter the color. I have not tried any other paint brand color paints as of yet but I’m sure a lot of them will work. Some may work better than others though. If you have a particular paint you want to try as CA, go for it! 😃💜
Very helpfull thank you
I’m so glad, thank you Domi! 😃💜
Thank you so much
You’re very welcome! ☺️
I love the Blick black. We haven’t seen dried results yet tho, because I’m commenting before the end😂
Oh my gosh haha! That ended up being one of my favorite was the blick black 😃🤗💜
TY so much for this video. I notice that the black CA makes cells and the white makes the lacing. Are there any other colors that make lacing?
You’re very welcome Connie! I was noticing that too some of the blacks gave it more of a round, celly look which was awesome! I haven’t used a lot of color CAs but the ones I have they did more of the round cells than lacing. I’m going to think on that more but I think the white is “known” for the lacing or lightning look. I’m wondering if combining white and then a color CA will give the lacing effect 🤔 .. I think that might be something else to experiment with! 😃💜
Thanks for all your efforts and sharing it with us! I am anxious to see the US floetrol recipe! I have just started the blooms as just recd my Australian Floetrol! Question for you!.. how do you know how much paint to put on any surface when we arent measuring like we do for pours? My first one was shy so didnt cover the tile. I put extra the next time.. but I dont want to waste a bunch of paint guessing! Thanks again!
You’re very welcome Kathy, thank YOU! There really isn’t a way to measure the amount of paint you put down for the blooms technique if you feel like your colors aren’t reaching the surface then just make your puddles a little bigger. One way you can cut down on wasting paint is when you tilt or spin you can take the excess paint and either tilt it into a cup or container that you can tightly seal to reuse as an extender or if you are spinning whatever is below to catch your paint try to scrape it into said container. You can reuse that paint to extend your pillow. I know a lot of people that do this ☺️
@@ThePaintedDreamer I want to much larger canvases so was hoping for an idea hack! LOL Thanks!
@@LegerKathy I totally get it, going much bigger is a challenge and one I’m slowly working on and don’t have a lot of experience with, my largest is a 12”x12”. You know who does awesome large pieces, Lisa Marvin. Maybe check out her channel she might have some more tips on going bigger 😃💜
I am in Australia you can use any brand of paint and any colour mixed with aussie floetrol as a CA
Good to know, thanks Lisa! 😊
Awesome thankyou
You’re welcome Lana! 💜
Thank You so much for doing this. You are like a Mad Scientist. LOL! It was very informative. They all for the most part reacted well. Except Fine Touch. You could tell from the blow it wasnt going to do well. I took away that most paints respond well with Australian Floetrol. Thanks Again for doing this for everyone.
You’re very welcome Sherry! I’ll take that title of mad scientist, sometimes I think I am haha!! But yea I’m thinking most paints are going to work just fine with the Aussie floetrol. May be a few here and there that don’t but that’s ok! Thanks so much!! 🥰🥰
When you use ceramic tiles are they the glazed or non-glazed type? And...have you had any kind of trouble with either of them...Thank you.
I think mine are glazed, they are just the cheap white 15 cent tiles you get at Lowe’s. You can get a box of 92 for $13.99. I just use them straight from the box. If they have dust or anything I may clean them with isopropyl alcohol before using but that’s it. 😊
Do you use the Vivid polypour? I received it with my pigments and don't know how to use it.
I don’t use it Margie I’m sorry I just put the pigments directly in my PM to disburse but if you are wanting to learn more on the polypour, Giavanna Designs here on UA-cam has a few videos that explain it really well ☺️
Hi there, I was wondering if the cell activator colour should be an opaque colour? I wanted to use my greenish blue but is says it's transparent. I am using Aussie floetrol.
Hi Joey 🤗 it doesn’t HAVE to be no, I’ve used both but the transparent will just suck in other colors a little more. It also depends on your consistency, if it’s thicker it’ll stand more on its own but thinner, whether it’s opaque or transparent it’ll take on the color next to it 🤗
@@ThePaintedDreamer Thank you! What I did was mixed the transparent with a titanium white, so I should be good to go! I really appreciate your always getting back to me. I would just hate to waste my precious Aussie floetrol!!
@@joeycasey2323 I know, that stuff is like gold but I did do a video on using half Australian and half US floetrol for CA and it worked amazing! So, it can extend the life of your Aussie stuff :), if you haven't seen it, it's video 134 :)
@@ThePaintedDreamer Awesome, thank you!!! You're the best!
What is the last paint you add? Is it a cell activator. How do you mix that exactly? Tks
Yes the last paint is the cell activator. I’m this video I was testing different paint brands with the Australian floetrol. It’s 4 parts of the floetrol to 1 part paint 💜
How long do you generally wait for the paint to cure before you resin? Also, if using silicone how do you remove it?
I usually let my pieces sit at least 4 weeks before varnishing or resining. Now that I’m doing some bigger pieces though I may add an additional week to make sure but typically about 4 weeks. When I used to use silicone I would clean the piece off with, of all things, Burt’s bee’s makeup remover wipes, it worked well but I also put an isolation coat on my pieces before I resin (regardless of if I use silicone or not). I started using this isolation coat when I was using silicone in my pieces to ensure if it wasn’t cleaned enough for some reason that I wouldn’t have any issues and I never did. I know others have used Dawn soap in the sink (I’ve done that a time or two) but let the painting sit a few days to air dry if you do that. I hope this helps Julia! 🤗💜
@@ThePaintedDreamer thank you so much😃
Have you used Pebeo or Artist Loft?
Not for CA no, I don’t have them here. If you have them give them a go! I’d love to hear if they work 😃
Hi Jodi! Do you mix anything with your pillow paint ? I am using the Sherwin Williams Ovation plus interior paint and primer in satin finish
Hi Vanessa 😃👋🏻, I don’t mix anything into my pillow no. I will put some in a container on my workbench for easy use but I don’t add anything into, it’s basically straight from the can. I’ve not tried the SW Ovation, how is it working out for you? 💜
@@ThePaintedDreamer okay thank you ! I’ve been watching your videos to start my own art projects, you are extremely helpful since I’ve started !
Unfortunately my pours always seem to go left.. lol i’m in the experimenting stage ! It might be the type of paints I am using as well. I find that they paint is not sliding off as well as yours. I wonder if my pillow paint is maybe too thick.. I tried to get all the products you use.. I think just my pillow paint is different and the paints that I use to mix with my pouring medium is different too.. I’ve been using artist loft and craft smart, which I am guessing is on the lower quality side ? I might order some Amsterdam paints ! Boy the cost is adding up but this is fun. !!!
Thanks so much again
back to experimenting !
@@vanessahidalgo5195 I'm so glad I have helped Vanessa! It could be the consistency of your paints and not necessarily the brands you are using. If your pillow paint is on the thicker side it could be why your paints aren't moving as much. Also if your color paints mixed are on the thicker side that can add to it but my color paints are usually thicker as well. I would start with maybe just thinning your pillow and seeing if that helps. You can use GAC 800 to help thin it. Some have also used floetrol to thin their pillows with success. You could use water but I don't recommend it only because if you use too much it'll degrade your paints and wreck havoc so try at your own risk. The paint quality for movement shouldn't matter so lets get that going before you buy more paints :)
@@ThePaintedDreamer I tried adding floetrol to my pillow paint and it worked !! My paint is moving a lot smoother and I made some cute tile coasters ! It was going well until I accidentally swipe my arm and cake knife right on top of them 🤦🏻♀️😂 I’m going to watch more of your videos on cell activator, I tried the 9 part floetrol : 1 part paint recipe and ended up adding some silicone that I had lying around but the cells didn’t expand as much as I would like for them to. You’re the best !!! Thank you !
A real scientist ! lol thank you for doing all this experimenting, it’s a huge help !!
Where do you get the clock kit
I get them on Amazon but Michaels and Hobby Lobby have them too 😊
Thanks Jodi, I need to work on my blowout and this was just what I needed. ❤
You’re welcome Denise 🤗 I’m so glad it helped 💜
I tried your formula and much to my dismay it doesn't work seems to thick, I am so disappointed .
Sorry to hear that Susan. At a 4:1 ratio (4 being floetrol, 1 being paint) if your paint is on the thicker side then you’ll want to add more floetrol to get it thinner.
AUSTRALIA does not have Floetrol.
Yes Robert, they very much do have floetrol. I have imported it several times from Australia and even been on the bunnings website and they have 4L bottles of it. Art Shed also carries it and I’ve imported from them as well. Take a look at the pictures in the video of the bottle, you very much have the flood floetrol there, you lucky duck 💜
A very great job. Thank you.
