When I first saw TRUE ROMANCE years ago, I recall wondering more than halfway through the film, when does Gary Oldman appear? I didn't realize that it was Oldman who played the dreddlocked pimp/pusher until the film was nearly over. His characterization was sensational. A truly fantastic actor.
Same here, I saw this movie as a kid and I decided to watch it again. I had no idea that Samuel L Jackson was in the movie, same with late James Gandolfini. The movie is perfect, everyone delivered perfect roles, Brad Pitt was most memorable for me.
One of the most underrated films of all time. A film that deserves much more recognition, written by the legendary Tarantino with another legendary Gary Oldman performance who never fails in going above and beyond in making his roles notable, amazing, memorable, outstanding, incredible, always making his roles iconic, as well as always making the film standout as one of the greats especially in every film he's in. A film with an excellent storyline, soundtrack, obsession, filled with action, emotion, feelings, intensity, iconic, legendary scenes, where in the end, despite Tarantino's trademark, and him not being the main director, both of them live on happly ever after, truly being like Bonne and Clyde, but in the end living, with a true romance, change, story, and experience.

Gary Oldman has got to be the most underrated actor in the world. Sure who doesn't love de niro pacino but Gary has gone from making me actually believe that he is a black guy in true romance to believing that he is Mason Verger a victim of Hanibal lecter. In Leon he walked up the stairs and stood outside the apartment and took that pill out of a tiny box popped it in his mouth and contorted....... it actually frightened me... Gary Oldman has never even been nominated for an Oscar How the fuck does that make sense..?
He was nominated for Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy.
Really? I don't remember that one. I must have missed it. Don't even remember who won that year.
He has one now 👍
Being an Oldman fan and having never watched Tinker is like visiting Louvre and forgetting to check out Mona Lisa. If you love his flamboyant performances like Drexl you'd be amazed at his ability to be the complete opposite on the acting spectrum.
Zionist run Hollywood
Oldman is amazing!
I saw this movie when it first came out in '93. Hard to believe Drexl came from Gary Oldman, that's just how good he is.
I want to find the guy he taped and ask him if he recognized that his voice has been immortalized in Drexel in this 90’s time capsule of a movie.
Gary is ICONIC here
Simply an amazing actor. Can't say enough about Gary Oldman. Brilliant. What an ear for dialects. So powerful.
My favourite actor this guy is amazing
One of the best actors in my lifetime. He could play everything.
Gary Oldman is a highly underrated actor who deserves way more recognition.
Who underrates Gary Oldman? He seems very deservedly respected.
Just to hear his normal voice to come out of Drexyl’s appearance just shows how good of an actor he is too make such a big switch in personalities like that
True nineties!
Probably one of the top 10 best actors alive.
There's no way this dude is commissioner Gordon in The Dark Knight
One of My favorite Gary Oldman's Roles!
Love Gary great actor and British whoop! Love the hair in the film for his character 👍
Gary Oldman is an absolute chameleon of an actor. Been a few times i didnt even realize it was him in a movie i was watching. Half way through like, oh snap! thats Gary Oldman?
Like wow, even when hes not acting hes better than most actors when they are.
i miss Tony Scott.
@BAAL BUSTERS II would have loved to see Tony Scott do a Mission Impossible movie or a Fast and Furious.
@@stuartmcquade3407 Nah screw that junk. I would have loved another Beverly Hills Cop sequel.
Probably the most versatile actor I've ever seen. It should never have taken until 2018 for him to finally win an Academy Award. One of the most believable villians as well. He becomes the character, which is what sets the great actors apart from the good ones.
him and DDL are in a league of their own when it comes to creating and developing unique and believable characters
This role put Gary Oldman in a class reserved for true actors...the kind which create Unforgettable characters all on their own! The "look"...the "sound"...the Entire character!
Possibly my favourite actor.
An absolute master at work. Even more credit for the performance as it was mostly his idea. Brilliant.
Tarantinos best writing. Best characters, great casting, the Elvis vibe is great!
yep
The Sicilian speech is legendary and some classic Tarantino dialogue.
First movie I ever watched in cinema. Love it still 20+ years later
His ability to transform into anyone is mind blowing no matter how many films I see him in! Especially the way he can change his voice… There’s acting, then there’s Gary Oldman!
The best bad guy ever was him in the professional, especially when he would take his pills and get even crazier.
Unforgettable
That movie is about a quarter century old, and I STILL don’t know wtf those pills were!! And does he chew them or is that his neck we hear cracking every time he chomps on one?
@@DA82324 It was supposed to be a mystery. It seems to give him a rush then make him more chill. The best pre-work out I ever had did that for me. Best workouts on that stuff.
@@BigBadJerryRogers haha more chill?? Yeah, that’s exactly what my first thought was...this guy’s chill lol.. especially after borderline snapping his own neck upwards! EEEVERYYY ONE loves that f’ng movie🤘🏼
I love that film so much
An awesome actor with great versatility he is.
OMG I already loved Gary Oldman, but this is an amazing interview!
And this has been one of my top favourite films for over 20years. So underrated also. Ive recommended this film to people countless times!! 😁😎😎
I was blown away when I saw this character! Great actor Gary, always love to see him.
Oh hell yeah he's still in character. Just listen to him and look at his face.
Daily reminder that a 360° turn brings them back to starting point
Lol I thought that too 🤣
Well, it's still the same type of character, just with a spin on it
my first viewing, didn't know Gary Oldman was in it, didn't recognize the actor as him, but I reasoned that the performance was so brilliant, it couldn't be anyone *but* Gary Oldman
Great movie one of my favorite Gary Oldman performances. Hell my favorite performances of every actor in this movie!
I still can't believe the Gary Oldman in "Lost in Space" and "Batman the Dark Knight" are the same people WTF! Actor of legendary status right there.
Thanks so much for uploading this!!! :D
One of, if not my FAVORITE actor....😊
A truly truly truly gifted and amazing actor!!! Gary Oldman needs more respect And awards for the work he has done
Drexel should of had a stand-alone movie. That’s how great Oldman played him
