I'm half Austrian and this movie is about my ancestors. They overdo it with the bishops here. Too many of them. And when I married, they wanted me to do this very entrance to the altar but I refused. I'm not following my husband down the aisle. If he wanted me, he had to wait for me. In the end, I had this entrance with exactly the same music and my mother and mother-in-law by my side but my husband had to wait for me at the altar. It was the 20th century and not the 19th. Emperor, king or not, if he wanted me, he had to show endeavours. I'm not sure if I lived in Sisi's time, maybe I would have complied. But I live now.

Brazil' first empress was an Austrian archduchess who married in Wien before coming to Brazil. She became probably the most influential and important woman in Brazilian history, even our national colors were chosen by her.The yellow on the Brazilian flag is Austrian,it is the house of Habsburg yellow, and an homage to our Austrian empress! I would highly recommend Vienna to any other European capital. People rave about Paris, but it is dirty, it literally stinks and the people are the rudest I have ever met. Franz Josef certainly fell in love with her and with time, he loved her but she didn't love him. It was his will to marry her and she had to comply and be grateful that the Emperor of Austria loved her. She had no choice. The glory that was Europe is captured in this Imperial wedding. The husband and wife are presented before God, here the future Emperor and his wife are aware that the source of this magnificent wedding is God, the true king. Now thanks to "modernization" and "democracy" Europe is now scrambling who should first legalize homosexual wedding. From Imperial honor and glory of old Europe to the decadent "tolerant" weddings of today. How far we have fallen.

Very far why why allow such an atrocity against nature to allow those people to marry only a man and a women should be allowed to marry because homosexuals cannot produce kids making actual couples the only natural and righteous couple the end

Roel den Oudsten Yes, which is based on the actual historical wedding of their imperial highnesses. You can view the black and white video showing the parade of nobilities, grandees and common folk going to the church. Search for "Wedding Emperor Charles I of Austria & Zita Hochzeit Kaiser Charles I von Österreich und Zita." Yup, that ship sailed 14 years ago and never returned. That ship was full of homosexuals, tragic =(

@Kay Jay, your language is a testament of how far people have fallen from civilization, culture and decency. Enjoy your modern barbarism.

Austria was Margraviate (Marcha orientalis), Archduchy and Empire, never a Kingdom.

Kay jay you will forever exist when your soul separates from your body so better clean up your act now or be sorry later because you will never disintegrate.
