She looked so depressed.
She’s lovely, but she looks like she wants to cry... or has been crying.
Grace is not depressed. Her countenance is appropriate for a solemn Catholic ceremony.
I don’t believe her looks were sad-it was more like seriousness realizing she was married to the Prince of Monaco,and how her life would change.
Her dress was stunning. The most beautiful wedding dress I have ever seen.
People have a weird obsession with conflating smiling/laughing v/s being happy. The two emotions are not always related.
I rarely smiled during my wedding ceremony and I was as nervous as all get up. And trust me, I was never more positive I was marrying the right man. Love him even more now than when I married him. She loved her prince 👍🏽
Apparently Monaco's coffers were almost empty. They needed a draw, and Rainier needed money. Grace and her family had to come up with $2M in 1956 (about $20M today) for the dowry. If a man you're going to marry asks you and your family for cash, you shouldn't marry him. She's probably thinking that very thing.
She looks so sad. Why was she so unhappy?
People say she retired from acting , but I think from that moment she had to act a role for the rest of life.
She looks really really beautiful. Not happy though. But her beauty is breathtaking.
Her wedding with Rainier opened a new chapter for Monaco. She ushered this tiny country into a new era of hollywood glamour.

Grace Kelley would always be remembered for her role in Rear Window (1954). She was absolutely amazing in that masterpiece by Hitchcock.

I think few people realize this was really an arranged marriage, engineered to better the prince's reputation and make it appear he settled down. He stayed a playboy, but was more descreet.
