My mother was so mad she missed this wedding , due to giving birth to me on that day lol
😂😂
Fantastic story ! 😃👍🏼
Lol ...
Bad timing Marilyn 😝

Who else is here after The Crown Season 2?

Present! :D
Ichisokeno I am. :)

I think Princess Margaret was a stunning bride. Her dress and veil were so simple, and the tiara complemented the entire outfit so well. Absolutely stunning.
I feel so sorry for Margaret,.. married to a loveless marriage
she did look gorgeous👍👍❣
@@lisabradford8180 Her daughter Sarah had an equally stunning gown. My two favourites so far.
She was beautiful enough and had a nice enough figure a simple gown was best. Her gown showcased her beauty instead of competing with it. Beautiful women do not need elaborate gowns.
Never realized what a lovely voice Princess Margaret had
First time hearing her voice
This Royals sound Soo elegant
She sounds just like the queen
The whiskey and cigarettes took a toll on it.
Yes!💓
Margaret was a great beauty in her youth.
ScattySafari She remained quite stunning into her later years too.
Yes! No argument she was always a beaitiful woman. I was always fascinated by tales of the queen and her sister as princesses, as my mother and aunt were twenty-somethings in the 1950s and got compared to them a lot. they were quite the trendsetters in their day.
But in later life NO!...Addicted to cigarettes and liquor.
Steven S Even though she was a smoker and drinker. She actually looked pretty good compared to many smokers and serious alcoholics I’ve seen.
She could easily have been a Hollywood movie star !! So beautiful
This would have been the wedding between Margaret and Peter. Damn.
Its true 💆
Even though she married to antony but after watching "the crown" I still feel that peter was one and only man made for her and whom she really loved....
Yo te conozco...
Que haces aquí??
It is what it is.
@@kajalyadav-bh1yk the love or her life was Peter 😔💔 she never were happy
I loved how the Crown used the actual recording of this for their wedding scene with Margaret and Antony
I just now figured that out.

it gave me goosebumps

After watching the Crown, I feel sad that she wasn't able to marry her true love, what a shame
You may be right. But Peter Townsend was significantly older than Princess Margaret and had two children from a previous marriage. As young as Princess Margaret was at the time, that may not have been the ideal situation for her either. I do agree that it is sad what happened to Princess Margaret. She was living proof that a royal title and money is not a guarantee of happiness. Princess Margaret and Princess Diana were in good company on that score.
What a travesty that they kept those two apart. It changed her life forever. Shame on them.
I watched the Crown too. But she could have leave the monarchy, as the other King did for the love of his life
@@karyandrea3801 why should she have to leave. They should have stood behind her as a normal family does.
@@keelyguillot4184 luv I dont in anyway mean this in a mean way but this isn't normal was a "normal" family so they couldn't be like a "normal" family to support her ..I know you mean it as in they should've done as we commoners would do and support her. But its more "normalized" today but then no way it still was a very by the book times..
I thought it was sweet that prince Philip walked her down the Isle
Well her father was dead. King George VI. And she had no brothers. So there was only Philip.
@Anthony Blue 🙄🙄🙄
Nazi at heart? Really? Why do you say so?
@@missmalaprop7455 The Royals are all Naziis. Read about Prince Edward who abdicated. The real reason behind his abdication is not marrying a divorcee. Philip's sisters were all married to Nazis.
not All
I could never imagine her being rebellious or wild, in a negative way. She looked so graceful and elegant whenever she appeared in front of cameras, even her waving gesture looks more graceful than her sister’s.
bailey guan apparently she was a drinker smoker party girl. She also cherished being royal
@@michele2855 Yes, she was, but then she was the redundant spare with no real role once Elizabeth's children were born.
She had the BEST bridal look that EVER came from the royal palace.
who's watching this after seeing the Crown Season 2?

Still the best wedding dress of all royal brides.
And the most beautiful one IMO
Grace Kelly also had beautiful gown.
It’s so beautiful! It’s my up with my favourites, I did like Kate’s too.
I agree it suited her so well it was stunning
I always loved Diana's. Yes, it wrinkled easily, but was still beautiful no matter what anyone says.
wow, and I must say Netflix chooses the actor/actress well, they do resemble the real persons much
Edward Leung is Netflix where you can find this series titled The Crown that so many refer to?
+ζαρα Ιωάννα
Yes, The Crown is on Netflix. It really is a great show.
The casting for The Crown is just awesome except for JFK, he doesnt even resemble him at all
Third and fourth season Margaret was a disaster!...no similarity no charm no grace no elegance...no offence to Helena Bonham Carter though
Was going to say for the most part they did the casting so well.
Margaret was the most beautiful royal bride and so was Diana
But Diana wasnt royal.
William Henry if you marry into the royal family, you’re considered a “royal bride” and Princess Diana’s family are nobles she was a lady before marrying Prince Charles
@@lancefabunan4133 she wasn't born a royal. But on marriage she was a " phony" so called royal.
Diana looked awful on her wedding day
William Henry What in the world do you mean phony?
I am amazed at the size of the crowd that turned out to cheer for Princess Margaret on her wedding day.
Princess Margaret Rose was very popular at her time.
I love how loving the public were in those days. The roar of the crowds was heart warming.
Quiet noisy!
Hi I am from Pakistan
Yes, there wasn't the resentment of the privileges of the royal family like there is today. People, even the poorest, absolutely rejoiced in these occasions - they didn't happen all that often.
Margaret's dress is so stunning so much better than Anne's and Diana's her hair is beautiful...
Joan Pacquette, hers is my favorite royal wedding dress of all time. So iconic it helped inspire Kate Middleton’s. Margaret had the perfect figure for it, too.
Joan Pacquette I agree. The train was the perfect length.
Joan Pacquette I Loved her Dress too.. Just noticed Princess Margaret never had her Veil over her Face when she walked down the Aisle.
Michele Hood : Kate Middleton’s dress looked more like Grace Kelly’s wedding gown.
She.was beautiful
The princess had such a beautiful voice.
Yes, she did. So sweet and delicate. It was like a little bird singing.
The fact Philip walked her down was beautiful ❤
Princess Margret chose the most beautiful crown ever worn by an English royal bride. Her layered organza dress was so romantic and demure, her bouquet reminded me of my grandmothers for the heather and the lily of the valley, she gave my mother the heather to grow in her garden on her wedding day many years later
I love that tiara too. Who wouldn't?
Her crown was bought for her not part of the crown jewels. Her children sold it at auction .
The tiara was named the Poltimore Tiara after who it was originally made for, one Lady Poltimore. Princess Margaret looked stunning in it.

ζαρα Ιωάννα she was beautiful and had great style
i love Margaret's voice and accent!
That's not an accent. That's the Queen's English.
That’s Received Pronunciation, or the Queens English.
@@willowmadhuridixit8991 Put on as the hoi poloi does!
Aah not being able to marry divorcees: famously screwed up King Edward, Princess Margaret, and Prince Charles.
Kennedy
and the late Prince William of Glochester
Actually Camilla was very much single when she and Charles met the first time.
@@alee7311 Yes, dear Aleece, but Camilla was not of rank and her lifestyle was not suitable for the royal family standards. She was for fun only.
King Edward was not devorced and Prince Charles and princess were not messed up after the divorces they were always messed up.
Margaret was the much more beautiful of the two sisters. Her gown and veil was absolutely gorgeous.
(turns on subtitles)
"I, Internet Charles Robert..."
Her wedding dress is timeless 😍
Well Tony turned out to be a rotter. Many girlfriends and refused to take on royal duties unlike Philip who has always supported the Queen. Felt sorry for Margaret.
The family should have investigated him when she first started dating him. He was bisexual and had had a menage á trois with his best friend and his friend's wife. Who by the way, was pregnant with his child when he married Margaret
@@Rumkitty2000 he was been investigated but elizabeth didn't tell margaret
Ruby Giraffes he was investigated so I would imagine they found he was bisexual, in a ménage à trois and had a baby after the wedding ? Wow, Margaret picked the real thing! Wasn’t there anybody more suited for her around? how come the queen didn’t say anything ? I’m sure captain Townsend would’ve been a better husband for her.
it's all because of Elizabeth, she didn't tell Margaret anything about him
@@RubyChiang Was Elizabeth playing games with her sister?
These old black and white films are fascinating as history. What an innocent time, before all the gross film stars with their plastic surgery, skimpy clothing, drugs etc. People loved this wedding and it made people happy.
What makes you think there weren't drugs back in this time? Opiates and cocaine were regularly abused, even prescribed by doctors, they just didn't understand the science of it as well....
Madamoizillion not to mention all the plastic surgery of the Hollywood starlets. It wasn’t innocent, they are lucky they didn’t have social media.
Yeah, the good olds days were just as messed up as now, it just wasn't in your face constantly, 24/7. People were more discreet, kids were more protected, etc. It was there, just more hidden.
They were on some drugs, now. He was for SURE.
Jennifer Pierno ok boomer
I love the woman with the rollers in her hair. Even when you camp you must not have shit hair! 😂👏💖
What I want to know is where did they all pee?

I am here after watching the Crown. Margaret was a stunning woman and I loved her wedding gown and her fashion. She always looked amazing. Margaret’s wedding gown is hands down my favorite royal gown. Stunning!
Both sister's were absolutely beautiful the Queen and the princess.
A really beautiful wedding, what a pretty dress! The noise of the cheerful crowd keep us happy ,even today
The most beautiful glamorous royal wedding ever
If peter and margaret truly loved
Each other they would have gone
All the way as Edward and Wallis did
There was some talk of allowing the marriage, but Margaret would have had to forfeit her rights as a Princess (just as Edward VIII did via abdication).
She was stunning too good for him
yes, Mr. Tony made the leap in quality by being a photographer... which he didn't even appreciate since he was cheating on her, it may be that he drank and got fat but he was always beautiful
I've always thought Princess Margaret could pass as movie star, she has that aura of Hollywood golden age of the 50's😊
yes it was a beauty!
Our main hospital in The Bahamas still bears her name - The Princess Margaret Hospital.
I didn’t even know they had a hospital named for her. That’s great it still has the name
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Stunning bride. Beautiful gown.
She was so beautiful
That tiara! The beautiful Poltimore! One of the most beautiful brides, timeless, elegant,Margaret!
The best wedding dress and jewellery out of all (The Queen, The Queen Mother, Princess Diana, Kate). Her sense of style is just perfect.
More so then Kate, MM, the Queen etc Margaret's dress was by far tge best. Everything was royal and right from her up due, tiara, makeup, dress, and flowers.
I have no idea if The Crown is realistic, but if it is, this was a big mistake. I love that series and how it can make me care so much about the past.
It was a mistake. Marriage ended in divorce in 1978.
Kjerstine Bek I feel like she would have been happiest with Townsend but I'd fear he'd leave her for someone younger once she got older.
The Crown is incredibly accurate of though some is left to speculation and this sometimes dramatised for the audience
@@otaku_ugh2134 the context is accurate, but the only dialogue that is accurate is what was actually recorded. So pretty much everything they say on that show is speculation, which illustrates how little we know about what they were actually feeling.
Princess Margaret’s wedding is the only one that I remember vividly. At the time I thought she looked like a Princess should on her wedding day😄
I must say she looked very elegant and stylish on her wedding day. Her veil looked absolutely superb. Her Poultimore tiara (not too sure of the spelling) really looked stunning.
So lovely to see this, especially now that our dear Queen Elizabeth II has passed! Wonderful nostalgia! Thanks for sharing this!!!
The Crown sent me
aysha barber welcome to my country’s history
My father was a guest at the wedding, aged 27 😊. The wedding invitation may be somewhere in the archives!
Amazing! Did he know Margaret or what was the connection between them.
Yes beautiful bride n the gown is stunning even in this time that gown is elegant to wear
Even Princess Diana crowd did not cheer like this .. awesome
Did someone measured that?
it's obviously seen, no doubt.
I can't believe I grew up to worship these people. Since growing up and reading about all of them I think of them differently now.
Nobody could wear the Poltimore tiara like Margaret!
she even wore it in the bathtub !
I always feel so sorry for Princess Margaret. like so many of the Royal Family her life choices were dictated by tradition and by the church as opposed to buy her heart and her mind. she should have been allowed to marry the man she loved even if he were divorced. after all when you look back on it what you find is the people involved in all of these marriages in the Royal Family we're not faithful to their religion and to their God so all of it was a farce. the Peter Townsend was a divorced man he was also a man who loves her it would have been faithful to her or at the very least he would not have betrayed her by lying about who he was. oh what a tangled web we weave.
it must have been heartbreaking for a young woman to loose her father, then not being allowed to marry the man she loved and to be compared forever with her older sister. Princess Margaret was denied of happiness and these facts shaped up who she was forever. RIP, HRH Princess Margaret Rose
poor princes if she ever lived to see the same church ordaining gay bishops......
Not everything is as romantic as it appears. The man in question liked them young. He went on to marry a twenty year old and eventually traded her in when he found someone younger. He would have done the same to margaret in the end.
Regardless, it was HER and HIS right to make that decision. You can say he would have traded her in, but you can't know that. Perhaps she was his one true love? I'm not saying he wouldn't have had sexual affairs. Prince Phillip is a well-documented adulterer and womanizer, but he still stayed with his wife. Like most married men, there is love and there is sex. The fact is the Anglican church, specifically Elizabeth has no right to interfere with her sister's life. The Church itself was founded on immorality and adultery.

Classic and beautiful...I cannot wait The Crown Season 3....😘
One of the highlights of this footage for me is The Queen Mother smiling and Queen Elizabeth II beside her with a face like stone. Yes I saw The Crown prior to this but to see her real-life reaction...whew. Tony not bothering to smile until they were headed back down the aisle and that big grin once they got to the balcony. MESS everywhere, the bulk of it behind the scenes, but great gowns...beautiful gowns. Lmao
Princess Margaret looked gorgeous. Love love love her dress.
Do you notice the real audio of them saying their "I will's" was put into the end of the crown episode.
A fairy tale wedding, She looks so beautiful in her beautiful gown..
Princess Margaret’s Wedding Dress is one of my top 3 favourite Royal Wedding gowns. The other 2 are Sarah, the Duchess of York’s wedding dress in 1986,and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge’s in 2011.
‘Hello! Cheating!’ That bit got me, such a British response.
and three weeks later his lover gave birth to his daughter
Sad
Margaret she always liked bad boys
Wow
@@jillaberdeen8945 Peter?? I wish so she would have married him and retained her privileges.

Her wedding dress is the best of all royal wedding dress.
The Crown made me come here to watch this 😂
"A love match" Might have been on Margaret's part but we now know what a rake Tony was
NICE TO SEE HISTORY IN THE MAKING . FROM U.K. (2023). ( I was then aged 11yrs.)
A picture perfect fairy tale wedding!
someone should have turned this into colour
After Season 1 of The Crown, I was so excited for Season 2!!! I tried to hold back and watch an episode a week. Didn’t happen, more like 2 days of a marathon of The Crown!! Princess Margaret is Beautiful!!! Seeing Princess Margaret’s wedding now, you already feel as if you know them. The critics in London say, The Crown is very accurate. And sometimes feel like it’s reliving those days.... They did point out in Season 1 a couple of things that were not true. When Princess Elizabeth and Phillip were in Africa for the King. Phillip did not have the conversation with the African King. The Fog episode, didn’t really happen as dramatic as it was in The Crown. Or that Phillip didn’t not want to bow down at the coronation of his wife Queen Elizabeth.... 🤩💂🏼♂️💂🏽♀️🧚🏼♂️🧚🏼♀️
I was a very young Bugler/Drummer, 16,1/2 years old, in the Portsmouth Division Band of HM Royal Marines, at that Wedding. It was a very hot day, and we stood in full Ceremonial Uniform for close on 6 hours near to the Abbey. Afterwards we marched through into the City of London , to commemorate our being Freemen of the City, with Bayonets Fixed, Drums Beatings, and our Colours Flying. We were Raised in the City of London by Beat of Drum , as The Duke of York, and Albany’s Maritime Regiment of Foot, on the 28th Oct, 1664, on Bunhill Fields, now the home of the Honourable Artillery Company. After the Wedding I went to my first ship, the Battleship Vanguard. Per Mare Per Terram.
I think they included some actual clips in the crown season 2 episode 7. they even used the actual voice in the start of the wedding
Wow wow beautiful wedding...
I ❤️❤️ her dress!! Beautiful bride 😘
Royal Wedding Wonderful Beautiful. Wedding Couples Smiling Faces so Beautiful. Wonderful Church. Wedding dress design is very beautiful. All are Wonderful. I like this Wonderful Video.Thank you so much sharing this Video.

I dont buy the idea that it was a marriage without love . It did last 18 years
Yes. She loved him
LOL
Longevity isn't proof of love. It's stability and complacency
You’d be surprised to know what a woman would put up with and forgive all for the sake of keeping the family together.
There was love at first
I saw princes Margaret really close up when I was a kid, and she was absolutely beautiful.
Lucky you! ❤️😭
Her dress was beautiful 💕
I remember as a little girl watching Elizabeth’s sister marrying eventually the man she wanted ! Not quite who she loved x bless her xx
she was so beautifull in her day
It’s nice to see her waking down the aisle with her brother in law , Prince Phillip . Prince Philip , was a father figure for Princess Margaret .
He wasn't a father figure but brotherly yes! 💓❤️
Such fun to watch this!
I'll never forget that day. Not only did we watch the wedding on our very own TV, bought specifically for the occasion but all I wanted to watch was Champion The Wonder Horse, so not only did we watch this but my Eleven Plus Results cam lout that day too. Along with my own marriage - I failed both.
Strange that this in on my UA-cam feed after watching the Crown on Netflix!
margaret was very beautiful, and during her life had several changes but it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful of the royal house, because others the truth that if they are something ugly
Timeless wedding dress.
The second most beautiful royal bride. Just after Grace Kelly. I also loved Princess Eugenie on her wedding day.
And the crowd went wild
For richer and poorer lol
For riches and riches.....
I think She was the most beautiful woman in that royal family including daughters in law, granddaughters in law
