@@lastofusgoat played with Butcher, woods etc guys who were coming up against Maradona, souness and was still scoring years later he was definitely incredible goal scorer
He broke my heart for over 10 years tbh but now a can say he was one of the best strikers I ever seen live. He only come second to the king of Kings for me. Obviously I'm a celtic fan but he was the main man in Scotland for years. He was magic.
in the lead up to Euro 92 when asked who was a player to look out for in the upcoming tournament Marco Van Basten said that Ally was the striker everyone should be looking out for, I lived close to the stadium as a boy and would see and speak to many of my heroes on the way to school in the morning, Ally never once failed to say a cheery good morning as i grinned at him, proper legend and in my experience an absolute gent.
That sublime overhead kick against Hibs came after Ally came back from a horrendous injury. Just an unbelievable player who is one of our own. SUPER ALLY.
Best finisher I’ve ever seen and I’m saying that as a Celtic fan his eye for goal round the 6 yard was nothing short of excellent if he played nowadays with he would bag even more
He was't the greatest on the eye. He would bag goals nonetheless. He's in the Inzaghi mould of a player. Rough round the edges but always at the right place at the right time. Sclaffing one in off his shin or a scrappy toe poke from 12 yards out. He was an out-and-out poacher who could finish with both feet.
A regular fit Ally McCoist would be an 100+ Premier League goals easy, especially with the lone striker systems (Marco Negri scored 32 SPL goals after a 15 Serie A goals season for a relegated team, to have an idea)! Playing for Rangers!? Maybe when still U-21, because SPL couldn't keep a player of his quality for long.
Ally McCoist is quite remarkable goal scoring record But considering it's only the Scottish league and the quality is absolutely shockingly bad He should have really tested himself in the English league to really prove that he was good
As a die hard Celtic fan I can say that he was brilliant, hated him on the pitch against us, don't make them like that anymore, had the pleasure of being out with him one night with my girlfriend, patter was better than his striking lol, pure gentleman too
Laughable Hun fluff piece. McCoist was a very good player, but he was lucky to be seen as one of Scotland’s best five strikers throughout his entire career. Nicolas, McClair, Johnston - who was clearly favoured by Souness when at Rangers - were all better. And there were at least as many plying their trade outside of Scotland - Archibald, Dalglish, McAvennie, Sharp, etc. You can get a lot of views fluffing the Huns, I suppose. For all Ally’s goals against Celtic, he would never have got a fixed starting place at Celtic throughout his entire career. Like Sevco - and now Ibrox - he is second-rate compared to his lead peers. Won’t be too many Sunderland fans lauding McCoist’s talents nor Scotland fans when Ally was lucky enough to get on, which wasn’t too often. You’ll be doing stories about Gazza and leaving fish in Gordon Durie’s car next. 🇮🇪🍀
Cannoe beat a bit of AC/DC man
As a Celtic fan ally was a world class player no doubt
He’s also a very fair pundit and likeable guy
If you're world class u don't score 8 goals in 60 games for Sunderland 😂😂😂
@@lastofusgoat he was only a kid then believe me McCoist was deadliest finisher you could wish for left foot right foot headers he didn’t miss
@Anythingwilldo296 suppose, yeah I'm 39 and he was unbelievable, but world class na

My hero as a boy. Had the amazing pleasure of meeting him twice back then. Super Ally!

The bold Ally was just pure class, he had the proper players about him too, was he the best ever striker at Rangers...I would say yes...
2 x European golden boot winner
Very very very
Wish he never get old
Seriously how many would he get per season nowadays
Only ever 1 Alistair Mccoist

He should be the next to have a statue at Ibrox , the guy just bleeds Rangers

Hey, Mate, should do a video on Paul McStay if you are focusing on Scottish Football
as a blue nose I agree 👍 👍 he was a class act.
LEGEND
If he didn't have so much help from the officials whilst at the original RFC he wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful.
Super Ally 💙

Super Ally all the way .WATP 🎉
The best in British football
Not just Scotland
Like the Copland Road Stand.
"One of Scotland's most prestigious clubs" 😂
The most; by far 💯
Yet you live in Celtic’s shadow and Rangers history ended in 2012 after cheating wee Lizzie out of £100m. Says it all really.
Good enough to be dropped repeatedly for Mo Johnston.
Not quite good enough at international level - hence missed gilt edged chances. pf
Wiz good for the huns but shite every where else. Crap at Sunderland
Ok in Scotland but championship level in England still he had a decent career
Brilliant player but hig head got better of him
You'd struggle to find a more down to earth player.
